As I keep saying though, Flitcroft didn't appoint himself. There's one person that is responsible for doing the real damage. The same one that then tried to patronise fans by telling us all how wrong we were and how right she was with an open letter.
What's your solution to the problem you've appointed youself to identify? Have you got the cash to make her an offer for the club? If so, absolutely brilliant and good on yer. I shall look forward to your manifesto for the way forward as you invest millions into the club.

I liked him as a bloke but thought he was just in way over his head at League One level. That's probably true. But compared to Moore, he was fantastic.
He did well in difficult circumstances when he too over from DC during the promotion season. It was clear that he had little or no say in the squad recruitment by DF

Huddersfield fans really weren't kidding when they tried to tell us how woeful he was. I tried my best to comfort myself with the fact that it was at least in the league above us. I would genuinely take Crosby back over him right now.
Crosby should never have gone. As we've witnessed, with this shower of a squad, Pep & Jurgen wouldn't stand a snowball in hell's chance. Thank you David Flitcroft!

Seven goals conceded within 4 days this week. It's the story of our defence this season!!
-
Burton now 2 up and not only 3 points clear of us, but also currently have a 5 goal cushion in GD. WE'RE GONE!! League two next season. Well done lads!!!

Sitting with a nice warm glow at HT. How the hell can we allow the seemingly comfortable lead of 2-0 with potentially 3 precious points to become a 2nd half debacle like this?

Conceded yet again from a corner. What a surprise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How many goals have we conceded from corners this season?!!!!!
-
That's another nail in the GD coffin!!

Makes a nice change for us to score after a corner instead of conceding!

Came as a centreforward. Came back each preseason 2 stone overweight! Became a great midfielder.
The weight issue was down to the extra hair. Each season it grew longer.......🙃

A lot of agency match day staff like stewards have all been brought in house to save money, I would imagine that is the reason behind the increase.

Interesting Thank you.

Only the club can say, I would think they would be mainly match day staff. Are we doing more in-house?

Don't know--that's why I was posing the question.

It’s the Vale that are in debt. Those accounts are the club’s, not Carol’s. If we were getting bankrolled by her, there would be no need for the debt or the creditors outlined in page 9 of the account.
All she is doing is taking out loans. Not in her name, but the club’s.
And who do you think is underwriting the loans?

How many in full-time employment?

It's the 30% increase in numbers from the previous year that's the truly amazing figure. Where have they all been deployed?

Carol knows she’s never seeing that money again.
Perhaps some of the worst critics who make some of the vilest comments about her, should bear this fact in mind?! Okay, she's got some (many?) things wrong, but that's a massive financial crutch she is providing to keep the club afloat!

I'd echo Joe's point above. The numbers look scary, but it's not out of the ordinary. Clubs with positive balance sheets are very much in the minority. As long as someone is willing and able to prop you up, it's basically the route you have to take.
Despite all the criticism, it is heartening that the Shanahans are willing to "prop us up" to the tune of a further almost £3m loan. An almost scary £5.2 million was owed (in June 2023, so it will, I suspect, be more now) to "Group undertakings" so I, for one say thank you to the owners for their largesse.
One interesting observation is the increase of nearly 30% in the number of people employed by the PV company. A business that is losing such large amounts would normally be looking to shed jobs to make savings, not increasing employee numbers by almost a third! It would be interesting to know which of the company's activities these jobs have been added?

Totally agree but we aren't going to score ethier so it's literally a case of wtf do we do.
If we'd gone at them and tried to take the game to them we still probably would've lost 3/0.
Tonight's been pretty embarrassing imo and veering on cringe worthy regardless of how good posh areThat's my point. If we'd set-up to give it a go, we may not have finished up any worse than 0-3 anyway. But it is of course, total speculation. Let's hope we can at least be more positive in our remaining games, particularly at Vale Park.

In reality never recovered from Barnsley.
Even when we were 5-1-1 we were minus 3 goal difference.
Have leaked and lacked goals all season. The stats don't lie!

Realise it's easy in hindsight, but I have to say that initial set-up with our defensive record, always looked what it was....... a high risk strategy! GD could sink us in the end.

I too, am still trying to process what happened today.
At least the cricket season has started and I can turn attention to my team, Warwickshire which has begun pretty well. Given some reasonable weather, I shall enjoy my cricket, turn off from PV until we start next season in League Two. If I'm really lucky, Solihull Moors will be in the National league play-offs and maybe a local "home" fixture for me next season if they are successful in gaining promotion!
