As my dad used to say "nearly doesn't count"
I take your point, but still think Cheltenham under DC will probably have a better League Two season than us in the next campaign.

But, as I predicted ages ago, he didn't keep Cheltenham up...
Got closer than we did! And, suspect he'll get them to a higher League Two position than us next season.

He didn’t tho so your point is massively irrelevant
Took them from bottom club that couldn't buy a goal to a team that finished above us and still had a chance on the last day of the season, (albeit a slim one) to remain in League One for another season. More than be said for us having been relegated last week.

What is ironic about it?
The irony is that had he kept Cheltenham up, lots on here would have been blaming the club for having let him go!

Just about sums up our season; dull, dismal, dreary, and demonstrably disappointing!

Burton bottling it, 2 down
A goal for Cheltenham and DC may well have saved them from relegation. Hope that Carol does irony?!

Oh slack marking just outside the box. Oh we haven't heard that much over the last 2 seasons.
Slack marking all over the park is our gift that keeps on giving......to all our opponents!

He he's associated with the Baggies and they are known as the bouncing up & down team--BOING, BOING! 😁

You just never know what will happen with Vale. It never goes like you want it to from one season to another, as something good will happen and then bad. You sit there wondering, why do I do this week in week out. But we all do.
Already wondering what the pre-season will bring player wise. Who will go - please get rid of this years dross somehow. Who will come in. The big question - will we get any decent strikers or will there be any strikers bought? 🤣
You've defined perfectly what being a PV fan is all about! 😯

Each to their own...there will be true Vale fans there, showing they still support the club. There will be others there to moan and groan, too, of course! It's always been so!
And will ever be thus!

48 seasons for me. But yes the joy of being a Vale fan. Getting up in the early hours in sandy clims and the other side of the world to listen on ifollow and then go back bed for a hour or to. God what we put ourselves through. 🤣
But we wouldn't want it any other way would we? How boring it must be if you're a Man City/Liverpool/Arsenal supporter and not have to worry about the odd relegation! 🙃

I only started going when we had Guppy, Mcarthy ect and seen a few relegations, this one hurts more.
They all hurt! But my point is that historically, being a PV fan entails lots of ups & downs, metaphorically as well as literally. I suspect this one "hurts more" because of the 'surrender' of the second half of this season.

Try 2 seasons.
I've been a Vale supporter for 70 seasons and there have been many more "sad seasons" than ecstatic ones. It goes with the territory as the younger cohort of fans will also come to understand!

Well , at least I can now cheer on Solihull Moors in the National league play-offs. If they get promoted it'll be a "home" fixture for me when they play us next season!

Let’s face it Vale Fans, Carlisle and us are by far the 2 Worst Sides in League One.
Fleetwood, Burton and Cheltenham have shown some fight, us and Carlisle have shown none.
GD stats prove your point completely!
