  1. Reminds me a little bit of Cricket going off to pay TV to chase the money; in the longer term it suffered from lack of fan interest and engagement in the local game. Football is obviously a different kettle of fish but I think there's some comparison there. With games being on iFollow it was very easy to stay engaged whether home or away (I've personally haven't felt closer thanks to it). Now if you're a fan and can't go to either at all, you've got very little (no choice) and quite likely the non-local fan will lapse especially in a cost of living crisis. A really disappointing move by the EFL all around. I'm devastated, especially at the prospect of not being able to watch the away games on a stream.
  2. End of iFollow. I'm not sure what this means for international fans. Preventing people from being able to watch every one of their club's games is going to dent interest as well. EFL doing a great job by fans chasing a greater collective money pot instead of making the game more accessible as usual.
  3. It was very much to me like he wanted the team to keep shape, try and block off passing options but only one or two at a time. Seemed to restrict them at times and we did rely on them not taking chances. Once we needed a plan B because we were behind I don’t think we had one. And I’m not sure with Moore we do have a plan B most games. I’m just going into games atm hoping the game plan is spot on because when it’s not it just feels all too familiar this season and our determination to fight back like we could under Clarke feels like a lifetime ago now. Whenever we have tried to open up and chase recently we’ve fell apart, Northampton as well comes to mind when they got their second late on. I’ve been thinking lately how much I miss Antony Griffith’s tackles in midfield. Would take anybody over Jason Lowe at the moment 😆
  4. It does appear quickly but my point is, they’re under no rush to update the filings yet. There’s no conspiracy.
  5. You know that companies don’t have to update it immediately, yeah? Once a year companies are obliged to file a confirmation statement confirming the directors. And they file new directors when they come on to the board. So yes, very sure.
  6. Because the games are 'at home', and at home, we should be a bit more forward and have chances to win the game. But I would agree, not enough quality in this team to stay up, which is why Moore is trying to be pragmatic and drag us there. Still, it's possible if we get a couple of results and other games go our way, but that is asking a lot
  7. I had no problem with the aim to contain Posh in the first half yesterday. My main issue was that once we did get the ball, we had very little idea what to do with it. And we had so little of it in the first half, because we focussed so much on restricting chances rather than disrupting play. We should have been looking for quick transitions and trying to win set pieces. If we're not going to have a game play going forwards on the counter, I don't want to see us defending like we're San Marino. Defensive play is never fun to watch, and if we went more expansive, we can only look to the second half what that would have meant; a 4, 5 or more goal defeat. I see we have brought in a new defender; so hopefully that allows us to go 4 at the back, 2 sitting midfielders and 3 behind the striker. A striker would have been nice, but they'd have to guarantee output and be fit to dislodge Uche / Loft / Dipepa at this point, so don't think we were likely to find one.
  8. Just paid a tenner to watch that on iFollow and while I might have expected defeat, I expected a bit more than that. Cracking effort from Garrity but it seemed like we were trying to play for a smash and grab / draw and the goal before HT killed us. I actually thought the first half we were fairly solid defensively. Massey though, was absolutely pointless and offered nothing, but we sat with a low block and we'd have been better off playing Dipepa at the start instead to give Posh a bit more to think about. I don't have much to say about any of the players performance wise; Rippers stopped it from being worse and watching on iFollow I thought the penalty call was a bit pathetic, but whatever. We offered nothing going forward until we had to chase a goal, and now and have suffered the goal difference gut punch. We need to dust ourselves down and go again, two home games coming up so need to give it everything and give it a damn go. Can't be sitting back afraid of GD, need to go and try to get points.
  9. Rather unfortunate turn of phrase here, I don't agree with the wording. Pretty inappropriate and disrespectful IMO to refer to Carol like that. But yes, she absolutely could have been stronger in her dealing with his performance over the transfer windows. It's already been said by Matt Hancock iirc that they are not directly considering keeping the DoF model; rather something like a recruitment team working with the manager. The 'Food for thought' with any restructure is contingency planning IMO; DoF models mitigate this in theory by having an identity and structure in place that informs recruitment across the playing and backroom staff. But we clearly didn't do this well with the manager appointment of Crosby (IMO) or the transfer window dealings. I would largely go with the idea that the DoF model wasn't wrong, but the actual identity and structure it was going towards; was. The balance of investment and towards the playing squad (3 at the back, wing backs), just didn't fit for us. You could easily look at some of the playing acquisitions and reevaluate those and say some of those were definitely not right. Not just lack of wingbacks or strikers, but not retaining Benning and Pett who would definitely prove useful at the moment. And in terms of what other spends and investments the club has made, I'd be questioning the wisdom of things like the scoreboard, separate changing rooms, but lack of toilet facilities. The investment in the football instructor accounts differently with FFP I think, but I don't think we were necessarily in any danger. I reckon what the club needs is to have different people in charge of the recruiting side vs the investment / revenue generating side.
  10. It's relevant to PVFC, I don't think it really matters what section it's in, except obviously if it was somewhere else it would get less traction. I am rather surprised at the interest and engagement in the topic, but I guess for many it's some kind of morbid curiosity. I've long since moved on from the days of Norman, so I don't particularly care what he's up to. Saying that, it is a little strange if he is interested in Tranmere of all clubs. I'm surprised he's had any success at all in business endeavours given his time with us and if he's looking at a club like Tranmere.
  11. No love for Flitcroft here but the idea he has an impact on the coaching of the team on a match day is just nonsense.
  12. I thought Loft, Dipepa and Uche looked good in parts, unfortunately Chislett and Garrity just not at the races today and we could have controlled the game more if they were able to get into it. Weir had one good moment in the second half where he won a second ball and then a free kick, but he's largely ineffectual as well. What I would give for someone like Arblaster right now. Shorrock and Plant were steady too and pleased with Sang and Smith today, they almost won us the game. Hopefully we will get more luck against Peterborough away as they are more likely to try attack the game, so I really want to see Dipepa start for that one. Above all, really happy we are out of the relegation zone.
  13. I'll take that. Did well defensively away from home and that's hugely important to get a clean sheet. Out of the relegation zone and the confidence will help going into the Pboro game on Wednesday.
  14. Wouldn't mind us having a whack from range if we get close enough....
  15. Our backs are up against it we just aren't controlling the ball at all atm.
  16. Wigan commentators trying to pronounce Uche's name is hilarious.
  17. That was a cracking ball and chance.
  18. I can't remember last time I saw Chislett do something.
  19. Loft has played quite well, decent shift put in today. Hope Uche can make an impact.
  20. Christ I'm so nervous watching this.
  21. Yeah I didn't think it was a penalty watching iFollow personally.
  22. Playing Garrity up front you need to put a midfielder where he was before. Unless you'd go Walters. We aren't exactly blessed with options.
