I don't understand why we are giving them acres of space in our own half. Not even attempting to block the direct balls or stop the receiving players. Awful. Pricing is a bit on the high side, as getting on the day walk ups will be especially difficult due to the mark up on the prices. It's otherwise attractively priced if the team are playing well. I will need to work a few things out, as I have questions about the concessionary side. I'll be up for the final home game at least, so can find out then and decide on an ST. I think they have missed a trick here though, easy opportunity to offer something ahead of what's been an awful season and lots of questions ahead for next season.

I don't want to hear a word from Carol. Nothing she can say will right anything. As an owner, I'd rather she stayed in the shadows. Employ people to do the talking for her. Let them take the responsibility. What I do want is for her to fix things. But that will take time to work out, and until then she will still cop criticism because that's the way it is. A year minimum, to see if we can get back up again, or if we did stay up, show some progress in the team going forward. Lots of other off the field things I'd want to see improved; but with the amount of losses the club is showing on the books, I don't anticipate things getting hugely better in terms of fan engagement from the club either. Carol should never be at the forefront because when things are going badly like they are now, she gets the criticism and as an owner she will be taking that deeply personally. We don't know or have any guarantees if she were to walk away or sell up whether that would be any better. It's damn sight different to the days of Norman and V2001, because they were owners in bad faith. And I don't think Carol is.

Loft is out so looking forward to probably Lowe being in our midfield again (dear God) with Garrity up front with Dipepa. Starting to wonder if there’s any players in the youth team worth calling up. Can’t get much worse.

I never rated Crosby, or more to the point what his appointment indicated (poor recruitment), and it's turning out to be almost as I expected. On my work forum, I had us down to finish 22nd on 42 points, and it's scary to think how close that prediction is. We have the slimmest of chances if we can beat Wycombe but that is a big if.

Going further back. 2008-09, we finished 18th after dropping to League 2. At least we had Big Marc Richards and Griff in the midfield with his tackles. What a time. We've been here more than once and we will bounce back. I was more worried under the previous regimes than I am under Carol whether the team can get rebuilt at least. I'm trusting that she won't spare expense next season, because I don't see there being another choice. Current state of the team though, lot of work to do!

An argument can be nonsense. I appreciate you don't agree with it but I don't see what your alternative approach or structure would be; so it's nonsense (to me). I'd honestly be deeply worried based on DM's management so far if he also recruited the players for the first team. I'm not sure why you wouldn't be either. At the moment I still believe he's the right manager for the team, though. But that's only because he hasn't had a transfer window of new players coming in to work with. If things are bad come November then my view on him could change.

This is nonsense. Flitcroft didn't work for us. That doesn't mean a DoF wouldn't. If you want to put the power of recruiting into the hands of the manager, ask yourself based on the manager's approaches to the games since he's been in charge whether that would be a better idea. I really don't think so. We've lacked a set identity or set up to the team, Darren Moore has proven himself so far to be a pragmatic manager whose performances with the team so far you could quite rightly question. I've got no wish at the moment to give DM the power of recruiting our first team squad that doesn't match up what we are doing with the academy, because it really does seem like it would be all over the place. We just need a DoF and recruitment team who can bring in the right players for the right positions, so that when Moore isn't here any more, a manager can step in without massive upheaval.

The squad (and coaching) turnover doesn't help, but at this level (L1 / L2) the turnovers of players can be quite high anyway. I think we are in for some turbulent years whether things are going good or bad on the playing side. We already don't have a big budget to nail players down for long enough, and we do seem to write certain players off very quickly as well. Given our recruiting of phenomenal people who fit into our esteemed values™, I can't see us getting in some outspoken players who give opposition and officials and earful.
