3 million better off than the over inflated asking price plus the money she's put in since them? I'm not claiming to be in the know but I seem to recall 10 mil being floated around - so the offer was 13?? Genuine question

Yes £3m better off on total investment.

If you had paid attention then you would see that there has been no investment on the playing side for two years now despite making money from the play offs, Wembley, cup runs, player sales and record shirt sales. Hall, Harrison without replacing them. Budget cuts. Replacing an experienced manger in Clarke with the cheap option in Crosby. Clarke should have been given more time after what he went through, see Cheltenham now. Or an replacing an experienced well respected CE in Garlic with her son who knows zilch about football. Nepotism springs to mind, again cheap option. Speedy who was given the chop despite working hard for years without a thought for this.

If you had paid attention you would have noticed that there has been no attempt by Carol to invest in the Lorne Street Concourse so it is able to be opened. Or that it doesn’t take months to sort out a toilet block in the railway stand (so we are told it is the toilets) which has always been the most populated stand for fans. Again speaks of no investment no money.

If you had paid attention that you would realise that the scoreboard was gifted to the club. Or as you put it the suite was only finished as part of the concert agreement.

If you paid attention when was the last time we have any update from the club regarding anything concerning the club including any update of player contracts or injuries? I’ll answer that one for your, never.

If you had paid attention you would have seen that the club apologised to fans not long ago be because they are so poor at communicating with fans that they had to employ someone to do this. (Appears this is still not being done).

Saving money for the transfer window? Like they did the last couple of windows? Like starting the last couple of seasons with one forward. Budget cuts everywhere and if we weren’t paying a factions of wages on loans players like Arblaster or Devine where do you think we would be in the table now? The squad is threadbare.

If you had paid attention you would see that statistically Port Vale are the worst team this calendar year or maybe you are happy with this I don’t know?

I know for a fact that there has been a offer to buy the club but Carol won’t sell, is this the best for Port Vale? New investment who can progress the club. Seems like she wants to be remembered as the person who saved the club over the person who can progress it. I don’t need to name this wiling investor, why should I.

I suggest you take your head from out of Carol’s back side then you may be able to see abit more clearly.

You’ll get told you’re speaking nonsense. I know there was a bid that would have left Carol £3m better off but if you haven’t got a copy of the bid on here you’ll be told you’re full of it. It will all come out in the wash.

That doesn't count the additional blocks they could release in the Hamil and potentially any season ticket holders who don't take up their tickets, which I'd imagine will be minimal. Still opportunities to buy corporate if you're feeling flush.

How much is corporate for this game?

It's all open to debate a sweeping statement like that.

Pure football I agree. Entertainment I disagree.

Fleetwood 5-2 and Rotherham 6-2 were pure attacking delights under Adams. Two wingers flying at teams in JMW and Vincent. Far more exciting than what's been seen so far with the possession based sideways, backwards, sideways and back to Ripley football..

Under Adams we had numerous 3 and 4 margin victories.

There's no question our current midfield at their best are outstanding footballers. But the lack of cutting edge makes it like watching paint dry at times.

I'd take Adams style all day as I like to get off my seat occasionally.

5-0 at Stockport wasn't bad either. That really was a good team to watch. Page killed the enjoyment when he replaced Adams.

Interesting. Do you know the Ts&Cs of any other players’ contracts? If under an existing contract how does Carol’s new wage limit make any difference to him or any other player on higher wages than the new limit?  Would have thought if we said we weren’t going to pay a player what was in their contract wouldn’t the club be in breach of contract and have to pay compensation anyway which would possibly equate to what would be paid if players stayed anyway?

More a case of player was already on X amount so we sold him. He was our highest paid player and we replaced him with Loft.

What evidence have you got of this so called "new wage limit Carol imposed for strikers"?  Where's that come from?

The same evidence as anyone who has been told things by people who are close to the top. Zero. You don't have to believe me. You just have to ask  yourself why else we are signing Loft and getting rid of Ellis if you need any evidence you can see with your own eyes over the last few windows. It is easy to blame DF but his hands are tied.  As with the other  one about Carol turning down an offer for the whole lock stock and barrel from Autonet that included £3m profit overall for Carol. Why won't she sell if she isn't prepared to spend the money needed to be competitive?

Agree, his recruitment elsewhere has been decent but forwards since we have been in league one(last 3 transfer windows) has been lacking.  Harrison did a job last season and it could be argued injuries didn't help but it's arguably the most important area of the team(goals win games) that seems to be the achilles heal in Flitcroft's department.

When the owner has a wage limit on strikers that he has to work within what is he supposed to do? It should be noted that the wage limit is a lot lower than most other teams in this league.

I do find it odd when people say the DoF model has failed. We got promoted on the first attempt and then stayed up last season. After years of <ovf censored> in league 2.

Most clubs at our level now have a DoF/sporting director/technical director of some sort

Somebody must be to blame for not signing a good striker, and they don't want to blame Carol even though it is blatantly obvious she won't pay what it costs for real quality up front.

  10. and the reason we haven't found that striker is not because of DF it is because Carol won't pay the going rate for one, In the end you can sack Crosby and Flitcroft but we still won't end up with a top quality striker because Carol just won't spend that kind of money. We need outside investment or she needs to sell up if this club is to progress.

Tbf All football clubs should take into consideration we are in a cost of living crisis. £25 is a lot if you are not in a well paid job...regardless that it is a 'one off game'...and after all the wages generally in the Stoke area are well below average

Plenty of money in the area mate

I expected adults to be 20-25 quid, so I'm fine with that. It's the kids prices for me. It'll be over £100 for a family of four (with food, drinks, etc) just 6 days before Christmas. Die hards will pay it. A lot of families with floating fans will choose not to go now. The kind of fans who go to your Swindons at home. We'll lose a couple of thousand off the gate but will probably make a similar amount of money. I'd have preferred the ground full with it intimidating as possible to give us the best chance of going through. We'd make millions from a double legged televised semi-final, rather than the few thousand we might make now. Shortsighted in my opinion.

    We will sell out.

    Sick of the moaning .

By all means moan if bottom of football league and attendances are plummeting but this is a QUARTER FINAL of a major cup and I'm all I'm reading people dissing the pricing .

All real Vale fans will be there makes no bones about it .

A one off asking the public pay for a kid of 15 .

It's not every game this is a special game .

Moan moan moan gets on me nerves .

    UTV

A lot of these parents will think nothing of taking their sprog to waterworld for £22 a head or even maccies for a fiver once a week. Just cutting one takeaway out between now and then will pay for it. Some people want everything given to them on a plate and aren’t willing to make any sacrifices anymore for something like this. First time ever we have been this far and people moaning.

Higher because it's a quarter final of a major competition, not just any school night.

This is a once in a lifetime event, not a run of your mill league fixture against Fleetwood.

Promote it and make it cheap for kids.

Joe do you run a business? You don’t have the best product you’ve ever had and then sell it cheap. You know the customers want it so you charge as much as you can without pricing them out. This will be a sell out at these prices. That will show the price was right or even too cheap. I personally think this would have sold out at £30 a head.

  15. I wonder if £25 will be the cheapest league cup quarter final price for a long time? Wouldn't like those moaning about the price running my business!  I think there is a myth amongst Vale fans that there is no money in the area. I am a golf coach and have a full diary until mid Dec. Most of these are working class guys. I also sell 5 sets of irons a week (at least) at £1200+ a set. There is plenty of money out there . The attendance will show that those who want to charge less will have actually cost the club money if they had it their way
