A well reasoned and very fair article Rob. Like you, I am amazed at the actual timing.  Unless moves have been going on in the background already and an appointment is announced today, who is going to be in charge tonight for an absolutely crucial game?

Also, like you, I always felt that AC comes across as a decent, honest guy, but his tactical approach for me has always been lacking in 'real politic.'   Every manager can only work with the resources at their disposal but with our lack of quality defenders why did he insist on playing a back three? Yes, some signs of nice, tippy, tappy football, but very rarely with any cutting edge as an end result.

DF has to be accountable for all on-pitch decisions and so far for me, the jury is definitely still out on that!
