Running in the 2021 virtual London Marathon

Hi,

For those who remember the halcyon days before lockdown, you may recall I ran the 2019 London Marathon. 

I missed out in 2020 and I also missed out this year, but I have instead registered for the virtual marathon.

In these lockdown times, the London Marathon wants to get the biggest ever marathon turnout so 50k will be running the proper event and 50k (including me) will be running the virtual one.

Due to postponements it will all take place in October (which is great for those of us not wanting to run in stifling heat). I've already mapped my route and there's a trail that's an old railway line between where I live and another town, Thame. As a former railway line, it's nice and flat which I think I will appreciate. I've already run a half marathon there so it's just a case of doing that twice :whistling: :huh:

I have a revised training plan (hopefully no injuries and trips to the physio this time) and I have the experience of last time so I'm very confident this time around. 

I will be running for a selection of charities this time. I'm still setting up the fundraising page but when it is, it will divide the money between a number of charities including several Stoke-on-Trent based ones. 

I'll post an update when the fundraising page is live and I'll be very grateful for anyone who can make a donation.
