The Gap Between the Premier & F.L is Becoming Frightening.

Spunky much of what you say is correct (especially about me being a fantastic fella ha ha) but you are wrong in your interpretation my friend. Like you I love my club to bits and my complaint isn't about Port Vale it's about the way the money from Sky etc is spent. The big boys don't give a damn about the lower league clubs. It's all about me, me, me.

Why can't they see that to be top of the pile they must have a pile to be top of! Let me ask you a question Paul do you not think that the revenue that is pouring into English football could and should be better spent more wisely? To me offering many mediocre players obscene wage deals while teams lower down the pyramid are left to scrimp to survive is an absolute scandal. I'm not saying that huge amounts should be thrown into the lower leagues on wages but if there was a pot in place to help maintain their stadiums. This would at least be a big help.

There is a lot wrong with the modern game. For instance at one time TV wasn't allowed to show games live when there were games being played on the same nights around the country. Today the Champions League don't give a stuff whether Port Vale are playing and the fact that many who may attend will stay at home or in the pub rather than come and support their local team.

When the FA took control of the Premier and left the FL to 'paddle it's own canoe' it was a dark day for our football in general. Yes just like you Paul I enjoy watching the Arsenals and Chelsea's but it was better when it was on 'Match Of The Day' and we could all watch and dream that it could be our turn if our club got it's scouting system working properly. I remember the pride I felt when we unearthed our 'Black Pearl' Mark Chamberlain and watching him develop and telling my workmates that he would one day play for England. They all laughed but he proved me right. OK we lost him but at least we got a half decent fee for him. This is why the likes of Black dog and myself complain. It is quite simply because football has changed and not for the better. The elite can't see it perhaps because they are too busy counting their money but believe me they are killing the game as it was in the past. Okay the grounds were basic but the game overall was a darn site fairer. I do appreciate the new all seated stadiums but at the end of the day it is Port Vale that I go to watch and dream of them climbing up the pyramid.

Have the FA ever had any control of the PL?I think that's the main problem, they don't.The PL is a massive corporation which has 20 member clubs that are all shareholders and who all want a slice of the cake.

643 million homes can't be wrong can they?

Here in Brazil is worse there is a difference between first division clubs are 5 or 6 teams that have the budget to compete for titles, the rest is filled with debt and should salários.Isso is bad for everyone and even for nacional.A England selection clubs like Port Vale have to wait one billionaire is interested in the club

Greetings from Stoke on Trent. Are you Brazilian and if so what's your connection with the Vale my friend.I have a Brazilian(Caio) staying with me at the moment who has a cousin who lives just outside Curitiba.

By the sound of it we'll soon have a gap between the PL and a so called European Super League?Apparently,a meeting took place yesterday at the Dorchester Hotel between Man.Utd,Man.City,ChelseaArsenal and Liverpool.American billionaire Stephen Ross organised the meeting to gauge opinion on the International Champions Cup which would guarantee each club CL TV money each season.
