Got one of these last Wednesday and even though I've not had an electric for over 20 years this is a great instrument, better than some of the more famous makes.

 

I'm finding the distortion tricky to control on the amp, anybody recommend a good pedal, Burt perhaps?

Try the Korg AX 3000G as it's not much more expensive than a couple of effect pedals, is really easy to set up and has a Vox AC-30 sound to die for! All the patches are editable and can be switched on and off like single pedals. Great for live or home use had one for about six years and they are well made.
