Well, that was remuneration for the CEO role, which is a full-time job. I am very much in favour of the CEO being separate from the board to allow for proper accountability. But I do think that the CEO, like any full-time employee, should be paid a wage.

 

So lets be clear. As CEO BB gave 40hrs a week (say) in return for 50k a year. He didn't just dip his hand in the till and take 50k. 50k does not seem overly generous and is certainly less than a qualified candidate would have expected.

 

Was he a good CEO? No, clearly. Does that mean he didn't deserve to get paid? Well, lets just say its lucky for some of our players that the same argument doesn't apply. Am I glad he is no longer CEO, certainly.

 

If you are no good, you`re fired

I was told that a director of Crewho was given a loan from the club of one million with only a shipment of coffee as security.

 

Hope that the due diligence doesn't show any such loans to Vale directors.

 

I'd heard that story about Crewe as well. I wonder if you know my old boss!?

Not for me or at least until Bratt & Oliver are history because I despise them so much.
