We have Loft up front, Lowe in midfield, a midfielder at right-back and Dan Jones back at left-back once again. If you're content with the state of things because we're currently doing alright against another toothless side... I just don't share that optimism.

    Welcome back, you happy chappie!

Who knows what tonight will bring
In a league few teams survive
All I know is the way I feel
When it's real, I keep it alive
    The road is long
There are mountains in our way
But we climb a step every day

Loft Lifts us up where we belong

    I'm in after that!

Just off topic (sorry) but sounds like things are kicking off at Stoke. Loads of rumours on X and the oatcake. One being that Ainsworth has been seen around the Bet365. Their DoF Ricky Martin picked the team on Saturday, the players don't like Schumacher and he could be on his way.

    Conner beat a good rumour!

  4. Jones he went off Injured. Again probably won’t see him this season he needs his contract ending spends way too much time in the treatment room & another one who isn’t good enough
I think he should only have played an hour, first game back after a lengthy absence. In that sense, he probably took one for the team.

  5. All worthwhile looking at and considering whether DF is doing the best job he can do and indeed, the right job. He might be a better fit for more behind the scenes management than Director of Football duties.

Maybe Flickers could then go back to part time? Problem is, 3 might be a crowd in terms of his dealings with Carol, who obviously holds him in high regard.
  6. Huge money. But regardless of if he likes it or not, he won’t be going higher than League 1 for his next move unless he decides to go to some minor foreign league for money.

I think if we could offer him £6k per week to end of the season that would be fair. Still a huge wage for us mind.
He has just had his contract terminated, presumably by Stoke and Newcastle. That must mean one hell of a payout. So he does not need money, let's hope he wants to enjoy his football one last time!
  7. To be an experienced football league manager and sit in the stands while a youth team coach takes the club's professional team in a desperately important game is a real dereliction of duty on his part.  Not what you need when you are fighting for survival.  For this alone, he has to go.

Final straw.  Camel's back broken in several places.  Flitcroft out!

Ask JR if he will act as DOF for a few weeks while we find another.  Or maybe just get a better manager in and save the cost of DOF altogether.

Either way - Flitcroft, get out of our club!

Every side has injuries. We sign injury prone players and then moan when they miss large parts of the season.

Would you say Garrity, Uche ahd Ojo are injury prone?  Add to them the loss of Alfie and Blaster and we've lost 5 of our top performers, regulars.  Small wonder we're struggling and are going to struggle.

As daft as it may sound a performance like this on live tv could see a league club come in for him.

This is what he has said to the BBC:

Maidstone goalkeeper Lucas speaking on BBC One: "It means a lot. I just want to thank my whole family, wife and everybody supporting us. My career in the last few years was not very good and now all the bad part comes in my head and we produce this. It's unreal.

"It's a normal day at the office! I had a great game. I am so happy I could help my teammates. We are in the hat again and hopefully I can get a move now to the Championship.

"What we have achieved is something unbelievable. To be in the last 16 teams in England it's brilliant. We kept fighting until the end, bodies on the line and everything."

I'd be lying if i said i was pleased about Robbie Williams becoming club president. Seen Carols comments about being so grateful for everything he has done for the club 🙄 Can any one enlighten me to exactly what has he ever done for the club barring a few shares years ago? To be even mentioned in the same sentence or share a presidency alongside such a legend in John Rudge is ridiculous & an insult to such a good man. As a fan Robbie should or could possibly invest some coin into the club alongside another plastic fan named Phil Taylor but they are both so stuck up their own arses it's a disgrace. Pair of them with an ego the size of Uche Ikpeazu's ball bag. Instead he's here making it all about him well the club pay him money! All a publicity stunt to try & get Robbie fans onboard 🤦🏼‍♂️ can gaurantee myself & all you guys who love this club have put a lot more money into Port Vale than Phil Taylor!

Well he did 'invest' £250,000 which saved the club.  More than most anyone has done.  eg the Blue One who trousered over £1,500,000 when we got the Hugill dosh, and then threatened to fold the Club.

Be thankful for small miracles.  Let's see what transpires, eh?

A lot of disrespectful posts on their forum about us basically being a terrible side and that he should do considerably better than Port Vale. No doubt from many United fans that couldn't even point out Old Trafford on a map.

Or Vale Park, for that matter!

Toney shouldn't have been banned at all in my opinion.

Given the obscene money pumped into football by gambling companies, it does seem the height of hypocrisy to ban a player for betting, doesn't it?

Have never known a Vale signing get given a stage by stage report on it like this. What it does show is how much work actually goes into getting one over the line even after the point of reaching agreement I guess.

You can see why some of these young players seem to think they are God's gift to football, can't you?  It instills all the wrong values in a young man, IMO.

  14. Be nice see an offer now and again. Lot of folk waiting on next pay day after Christmas.
Lard did it on Saturday and got 25'000 v Birmingham.
I don't take much notice of offers we do as I'm a season ticket holder but most seem to be double header offers rather than an individual game?
I doubt there was anywhere near 25k in the ground at Stoke.

Because Crosby and Flickers have banged on all season about the style of play they are implementing. Crosby been stubborn with that all the way from the 1st game of the season against Barnsley up until, ironically, half time against Barnsley in the return game.

It was a case of Crosby about to lose his job, a few injuries and the fact that the game could have easily been another 7-0 but within 15 minutes he brought on 2 kids, switch to 2 strikers up front and went more direct.

So, all the training since pre season, all the games we had played over pre-season including up to half v Barnsley in December, all that time was disregarded within 15 minutes

Fine, but that doesn't say he will revert back, does it?  Let's have this conversation when we see how they play next game, whenever that is.  Just off to pop some spinach!
