  1. Sing their delilah back with ...

    Why why why d'you bother

There is a full song but will have to ask other Vale fans to give you the full version as I am in the pub and inebriated with hope that we can finally win a game tomorrow!

Just brought myself to watch ' highlights ' on YouTube.

Shows the whole move that led to the free kick in the first minute. We actually decided to take the free kick about 20 foot from where the offence took place.

    Really was shocking.

Later in the game as well we had a throw in by the empty Lorne Street seats on the attack. Yet within 10 to 15 seconds it was at Ripleys feet .

Reference your last paragraph. The throw in was right below where sitting and i said the same to friends around me when it ended up back with Ripley.

On a different incident in the second half they got a free kick exactly where Smith's was that resulted in the first goal.  Shock, horror, they passed the ball forward and it resulted in them getting a throw in deep into our half.

3-5-2 doesn't mean you have to play tippy tappy sideways then back to your keeper.

On the same subject yet again at kick off the kicker passes ir straight back to Ripley. It's totally bloody negative. At their kick off they passed it back 10 yards to a creative midfielder and lo and behold it was passed deep into our half and stayed there for long enough for it to become obvious they had attacking intentions.

Every time Funso receives a pass he is facing his own goal and passes it back. He never takes it on the turn and moves the ball forwards. Unlike the Lincoln midfielder.

Yes they played 3-5-2 but they played it positively. We are totally uckin NEGATIVE with everything we do!!

  3. Can anyone tell me why yesterday  ...

The referee didn't disallow their first goal as their player wasn't ten yards from the ball when he intercepted Smith's pass to Deborah?

Why did the Ref give a penalty when the offence (Jones holding shirt) started well outside the area and it remained one incident until their player decided to fall down?

    Thoughts anyone?

He's escaped criticism from many for too long because he's "one of our own". If he was a summer signing he'd be hounded the same as half of the dossers we've signed recently. Overrated, bottom-half League 1 defender at his absolute ceiling.

I only wished we had a team full of experienced bottom half league 1 players.

At least we would have a chance of staying up!

    @Spunk Trumpet

It doesn’t matter whether you boo Ryan Loft at a game or not, here you are social media creating something that comes across as a hate on Ryan Loft, that will in turn generate more hate as people jump on the bandwagon. You’ve even said hes garbage and we should pay him up or keep him away from the squad. But you’re the one missing point about him if you think he’s a striker who’s going to come in and be a goalscorer, look at his record, he isn’t and never has been. What did our recruitment team look at? But then look at what we create as a team, which is nothing, we haven’t scored or created much across the board. We have no identity in how we want to play to get people in to the box or play off strikers.

The crowd are toxic because of flitcroft and Loft is the one bearing the brunt of it, we have no strikers and he’s the one who’s been brought in by him. I think he’s trying, it’s not for lack of effort IMO but it seems to me a lot of the fans don’t know anything about Loft as a player or his past record and are expecting something that he’s never been.

    Superb post.

I thought the fans support was very good yesterday.

Has PV1973 says he is not a goalscorer. Words like Toxic are far too easily used. If you were in a real toxic situation you would realise the vast majority of fans at Vale are far from toxic. Gutted and disappointed yes, but not toxic.

At the moment we have a simple job to do. Support all the players in our team.

To be fair he was garbage up here.

The problem is how we’ve recruited worse.

He was recovering from a bad injury when we signed him but he is fit now.

Cheltenham have no more money than us but they don't have delusions of grandeur and sign competent league 1 players.

My post last night explained the folly of signing Prem youngsters on loan on contracts that allow them to be recalled at Christmas. Lose lose scenario. They spend the first quarter of the season getting caught out adjusting to men's football. Then if they are playing well in the second quarter of the season they get recalled by their owning club. Or if they are not playing well get left St the Vale.

If they have been recalled we waste the January window signing other Prem kids and the bloody scenario starts all over again.

Meanwhile we end up heading into league 2.

She’s in charge and the buck stops with her!

She doesn’t invest, despite selling players left right and centre. Hall, Forester, Harrison, youth team players. Play offs,Wembley, cup runs. Higher attendances. Where is the money Carol?

She won’t invest in the stadium and takes fans for granted.

We are in terrible form and she actually thinks Flitcroft is going a good job. I could go on but I haven’t got the time or effort.

If this was other owners then we would be protesting but for some reason Carol can do no wrong when I fail to see what she does right .

No respect for staff, Garlick, Speed and the shocking treatment of Clarke after what he went through. I am embarrassed for her.

She needs to go NOW before it’s too late.

    Wake up everyone.

Failing to invest ... £10M and counting.

You are clearly on a wind up.

Look if your happy watching mediocre football and obviously you are cos your a happy clapper it doesn't mean the rest of us are going to accept it some of us are looking at the bigger picture  if you can't see we are sinking in to the proverbial black hole get yourself booked in at Specsavers yiu might see things more clearly then , who knows

Yeah some looking at the bigger picture .... stay away, don't support the team, Carol gets fed up of the <ovf censored> and calls it a day, Administration and closure.

Alternatively looking at a different picture .... support the new Manager and team, give them confidence, team wins both home games stay in division, RW gets involved as he stated, local Derbies next season against Wrexham, Stockport, Crewe, and hopefully Sjoke. Win the lot and play offs beckon.

Oh and if you go enjoy the pre-match with friends.

For me there's no choice as aftera lifetime of going there's not enough years left to find happiness elsewhere.

Although Leek Town are well worth watching this season. 10 pts clear at top of division.

  9. Will support the team 100% but feel the damage has already been done with defeats in last 2 games.

The incompetence of the Management since the Burton home game, where our charity defence shone and gave warning to one and all of what was to come if left unfixed now leaves us heading back to the 4th division.

The signing of Prem youngsters on deals where they could be recalled half way through a season is total incompetence. It meant we spent the first quarter of the season taking huge risks with the team whilst they adjust to playing men's football. Then after them playing for just contributing one quarter of a season we are shiton as they get recalled and sent to championship or their first team. This leaves us having to fill those positions with new loans that will take another quarter of a season to adjust to men's football again to our detriment.

Flitcroft has sacrificed our position in league 1 on a project that could never work. Whether it be instigating a club wide formation (3-5-2) that was not only beyond our own players abilities but also deeply unpopular with the paying customers ... us fans.

Plus the scenario of loan players impacting our overall team performance.

Ollie and Divine prosper from being at Vale whilst our club and us fans head back to the 4th division.

Under no circumstances should we have ever taken loan players if they could be recalled. Its either a season loan or don't take them.

How I wished we had not taken them on loans that had recall clause in them and simply signed competent league 1 players on full time contracts.

Finally, to blood our own young kids en-masse when the team is in free fall is criminal to their development and our prospects.

Who isn't giving total support? Total support isn't not saying things are crap when they are crap. You can hope and want Vale to win games and do well but also criticise aspects of the football club constructively, at the same time. Or do you believe you deserve a big pat on the back because you won't say anything is rubbish at the club? Maybe a fruit basket?

I think just about every post I put on makes it very clear that I don't support Flitcroft's 3-5-2

Hopefully DM is going to change that with our support.

    Oh, Dave.

If we go down it will have absolutely nothing to do with the fanbase.

Joe I am as fearful as anyone that relegation. Will happen.

    But it hasn't happened yet.

So let's give our last hope (DM) all we can. He has changed to a back 4 tonight  but says he needs fans to stay with him.

Let's give it a go and do that.

No I am a realist. Please explain why we should go out of our way to support this lot. And I have supported the team for over 65 years, but enough is enough

    Tommy no offence intended.

Just a plea to stick with them whilst there's a chance DM can perform a miracle.

    Dave,

The players have been getting full support on the pitch. Listen to Vale fans singing at Cheltenham last Saturday. Listen to the Vale fans that were signing tonight.

    The support is their.

The games are for supporting the team vocally and the message boards are for discussing whats going wrong.

Don't get to go away games these days Brian, so it's good to hear that.

I suspect we are going to have to get the wins at home games if at all. So it's just a plea really to continue supporting the team at home (as with Stevenage) and not be anything other than 100% behind the team.

Without doubt Flitcroft has been good at getting transfer fees for players leaving the club.

Without doubt his failure to bring the right players in has been catastrophic.

But his biggest failure has been to tie the club to a system, that doesn't work for us, just to give young premier players game time in a system that suits their parent club but doesn't suit the Vale.

Hopefully DM is strong enough to override Flitcroft's wishes and change the formation.

I am grasping at straws mate.

I remember as a Kid the whole ground breaking out in a slow handicap and following it up with a chant of " What a load of rubbish " of course I know that wouldn't be tolerated in these days of delicate sensibilities and wokeness but it would get the message across to Carol she's being conned by Flitcroft and we as supporters are fed up to the back teeth of it.

Might make you happy but that would kill any chance DM has of getting the players to believe in themselves and getting the points to stay up.

Yep you got me there however  ...

I am no lover of Flitcroft and his unchanging 3-5-2 mate  but i can't just wave the white flag.

Flitcroft is like a golfer who believes he can't have been wrong even though the putt is missed over and over again.

However, DM has gone with 4 at the back tonight and if he is going to change from bloody 3-5-2 then he and the players, will get my total support from here on in no matter what the score.

hope that makes a bit of sense for two clearly conflicting statements as you pointed out.

  16. Whatever, your views of Flitcroft I hope everyone stays behind the team tomorrow even if we are losing. As we did midweek.

My fear is our ex players and Manager on a mission. A win for them would be massive because Vale sacked Clark and let Pett, Lloyd and most worryingly Taylor go.  Matty was recovering from injury when at Vale and DC seems to have him very much sharper now.

I would be delighted with a point. But I doubt we will be able to stand up to the pressure they, like Carlisle and Fleetwood, will put us under.

I have listened to the podcast but to be honest I didn't need too. It's the same script we've heard at every fans forum:

    "big picture"
    "campus"
"really enthused by the project at the club"
"went after half a million really top level players, but for some unknown reason they don't want to play for a team 4th bottom of the league with a pe teacher in charge"
"it's a process of getting better, despite us getting worse yes on year"

The personal abuse is poor, especially the twitter stuff. If they are coming on ovf then like hobblesworth says they need looking at.

I don't think any of what you put is incorrect. It just depends on whether you believe what he is saying.

I don't think any of us deny the top three statements do we?

We are all frustrated at the failure to sign a striker but he went into pretty clear detail (without revealing the names) as to why each one fell through. Personally, and you would only need to sit with me to know how anti Flitcroft I have been, I understood his frustrations right through to the deadline. He has to work to a budget but I think his biggest hurdle to overcome is Carol's 'dikhead' test as I suspect a fair few fail that!

Finally, I don't think we are getting worse year on year. We have risen from the ashes of bottom end of 4th division to currently bottom end of 3rd division. However, with the arrival of a new Manager (which Flitcroft played a big part in acquiring) and important players coming back from injury (possibly even a free agent striker too) we could well gain enough points to finish mid table which I would class as continuing the improvement.

I totally agree that the abuse is out of order and it was interesting that the potential abuse led to the club and the authorities advising against his appearing on the bench recently.

Without doubt I am not a fan of the (his) formation although I understand why it is being adopted.

Let's see how the next 4 games pan out. We could have done with them not being till March but hopefully there will be a new Manager bounce to see us gain 6 or more points in those 4 games.

Thought everyone were brilliant yesterday mate.

I don't for one minute think everyone who was there yesterday is supportive of Flitcroft. I was there for a start and he isn't on my Christmas card list!

Is Flitcroft's failure to sign a major reason why we are in the Relegation zone? Yes of course he is.

However I believe the players missing with long term injury is an even bigger reason. Garrity for one is a massive loss isn't he?

There are a number of posters on here who are trying to 'encourage' vocal protest against Flitcroft during matches and it is IMHO counter productive.

We all want Vale to stay up and yesterday I thought everyone did a great job encouraging the team when 1-2 down especially.

If someone slags me off mate

I'm not going to put up with it

The team got great support throughout the game today, Nippy.

That gave them the confidence to play well.

You have a great ability to post the negative aspects but after going 1-2 down we could have collapsed but didn't. Their were a number of occasions where the ball could have fell for us but didn't. The save late on from Lowe in particular was excruciating but the players didn't give up because the fans didn't give up and we got our just rewards.

Did you look at our bench when Funjo scored they were going crazy. Even the Polish lad who hasn't been here 5 minutes was dancing on crutches. This group of players genuinely care.

The only thing we need the fans to do between now and season end is to vocally support the players through thick and thin and stay together. That's what will keep us up.

If you want to vocally protest then do us, fans and players, a favour and stay at home to do it.

The club has a great owner and we deserve to stay up for what she has given this club since buying it.

Any vocal protest at a time when the window is closed can only be counter productive.

We as a club need to stay together and fight to stay in this league.
