Reading got deducted another two points this week, so every little helps

We’ve picked up three points on three occasions in the last 6 months.

    Let that sink in.

What sane supporting fan actually thinks we can get out of this?

And any fan who bangs on about supporting the lads. The 12th man. All that crap. They’re delusional.

    Derby will batter us.

We're doomed with the current set up ,

Like you say sumat doesn't feel right at the club , I smell a rat ,

I know it's the nuclear option but if carol.persists with Fraudcroft

She needs to sell up in my opinion

Cos Fraudcroft is going to take us  into oblivion  the majority of us need to keep making our voices heard and get him out of our club  , I'm  just feel so dejected at the moment, mate, UTV  .

She doesn’t need to sell up.

    She needs to wake up.

It will happen and Flitcroft will get fired. Sadly it will take time to understand that she’s been controlled.

  3. Nice to see Mr. Everything football doing his bit today by going for a walk to get 500 and odd quid for the foundation.

It’s virtue signaling at its finest.

Darren Moore stated in one of his interviews that he and “Dave” would leave no stone unturned and it’s 24 hours a day.

    Bull.

Carol claps like a seal. Dave stands there knowing he’s in control. Mr Narcissist strikes again.

The fans want him to do his <ovf censored> job. Not go walking for the foundation.

What an absolute mess this football club is in.

  4. I’ve just listened to Moores pre match interview about free agents.

    ”Me and Dave”

At this point I’m thinking he’s surrounding himself (Flitcroft) with shields to release the pressure.

    ”We tried”.

Same old <ovf censored>. Unsurprising. So there you go. We go into the remaining games with the crap we have.

As Vale fans you make your mind up and make your mind up quick. If you think it’s acceptable that Dave Flitcroft should be here and is doing a good job then good for you. But don’t moan in the summer when he oversees another transfer window.

Ive never known anything like this at all.
    Something does not stack up.

Apologies for the stats - I genuinely took them off one website, but can't find which one, now!!! Already had my hands rapped for that one!

You don’t have to apologise. I came back on here to put facts out there that Flitcroft is ruining our club.

And whether Carol likes it or not, I and others will hound him out.

Time for talk is done. It’s put up or shut up. Three abysmal transfer windows is enough.

I like the things you've done in the past - and Smurftwat got most of us fooled, at the start.  And it's not nice getting dog's abuse for expressing your opinion. I find it difficult to draw assumptions about a person, based on no time spent with him - so many of my first impressions have turned out to be false. So, I can't agree with you on that. As for getting angry if we go down again - I will be disappointed and hurt...but I have been before. I still wear those t-shirts!

As fir free agents - we may have been looking, but the consensus is that they wouldn't be up to match fitness in time to make a difference...so that's no real surprise!

DF isn't in a very enviable position - if he has m ade mistakes, he will get your dog's abuse...but worse! But - what if he hasn't made mistakes, and has done what he could? Whatever he says will be throwing somebody else under the bus...probably Carol...unless he doesn't explain fully, in which case people will see through that.

As I say - difficult. I wouldn't like to be him, at the moment.

Thanks for keeping your comments civil!

You can’t say “what if he hasn’t made mistakes”. He so clearly has.

What director of football goes out and pays a fee for Ryan Loft and a good wage and also pays a good wage for Uche?

Hes had the money and spunked it!
That side we put out on Tuesday night is nowhere as good as the side that beat Mansfield in the play off final.

Were Worrall, Benning, Conlon, Proctor, Hall, Forrester, all world beaters? No. But they were all good solid pros. And there’s more he let go.

And what do we get in?

    Loft. Crap.
    Balmer. Crap.
    Massey. Crap.
    Grant. Crap.
    Lowe. Crap.
    Uche. Crap.
    Sang. Not good enough.
    Ojo. Can’t be bothered.
    Debrah. Not good enough.
    Iacovitti. Not good enough.
A lad from Liverpool who was here for a day or two.
Josh Thomas. Never got a look in and I think is our 4th top scorer!!

I’m sure I’ve missed some out.

So…. Let’s get rid of seasoned pros. Replace them with crap who just want a wage. But it’s ok lads. Because I’m David Flitcroft. And because I’ve done wrong it’s ok. Because Carols open letter tells you all that HE is responsible for the kids coming through! My word.

So those seasoned pros. Who are crap. Are now replaced at times with Plant, Dipepa, Walters (who still won’t sign a contract) Lomax, etc who aren’t good enough for league football yet.

People thought Danny Glover was good enough for league football but it was only because of the players around him being absolutely toss.
It’s the same with these lads at the minute. And yea we should celebrate our academy but for the love of god get them out on loan and stop relying on them because of the ineptness of the DOF.

It will take maybe two or three transfer windows to sort this <ovf censored> out. Minimum. So if we do go down don’t expect coming back up anytime soon.

We have gone from a healthy football club to an absolute basket case under Flitcrofts rule.

The day Carol appointed him in charge of “everything football” has been a demise in “everything football” since.

    Thats not an opinion.

    Thats a fact.

So then you sack the man who has spunked 7k a week of the clubs money. Yes?

Wouldnt trust him with any more money would you?

I partially agree - except, until coming up to Christmas, and Ollie and Alfie got recalled, most were saying how good we looked!

Theo Robinson coming back...again...would have actually caused riots! Loft...aged 26, btw. has been basically a 1 in 4 goalscorer, except for Bristol Rovers where he was 1 in 3. So, oin the face of it, a reasonable target?

I agree with Ojo - he has admitted to being upset when Andy Crosby got the sack...maybe he has downed tools?

A defence that keeps having individuals making silly mistakes that can't be coached out! A mistake is a mistake - we all make them!

    Martin Paterson!!!

I can debate all day long with anyone.  But not with misinformation.

Firstly. Martin Paterson was crap. It was a mistake. But there are HUGE mistakes in THREE transfer windows.

    Now.
Let’s get to your statement that Ryan Loft is a 1 in 4 striker and a 1 in 3 striker at Bristol Rovers. So isn’t that a reasonable target?

Have you been listening to Flitcroft? Did he say this? Where did you get this from?

    Ryan Loft. Career appearances 194. Goals 33. I don’t make that 1 in 4.
Ryan Loft. Bristol Rovers appearances 57. Goals 7. I don’t make that 1 in 3.

Ryan Loft. Highest league he has ever played in is league 1. League 1 appearances. 55. Goals 4.

So should we have chased that player?
Reagrdless of the answer….. we did….. and he’s crap……. and his career stats back it up.

Loft and Uche are on around 7k a week between them.

Wow...that IS an expectation! If Carol decides she needs him at the club, it will be in this role, She's not likely to demote him, I don't think? But, I do see where you're coming from - I just don't like to question professional people's abilities unless I know them, personally, and work with them, and I don't form ideas about them based on rumours, conjecture or the obvious loathing and pre-conceptions some fans have for DF, particularly, and the role of DoF, which they think doesn't  belong in a League 1 club!

I don’t need to know him personally to question his professional abilities.

Like many things in life you either choose to see the obvious in front of you or you don’t.

Three transfer windows have put us in this position.

I spoke out about Bratt and co years before everyone got him out.

I spoke out about Smurthwaite years before we got him out.
I had dogs abuse from a lot of people. Me and others on here fought to get our club back way before the sentinel and radio stoke got involved. We called that crook out for what he is.

Now with Carol I’ve got no issue in her owning the club. What she has done has been amazing in many aspects. BUT like Smurthwaite and Bratt before hand, when you see something isn’t right, I’ll speak up. And I’ll be damned if I stand and watch David Flitcroft RUIN this football club with his excuses and ineptness every transfer window.

Remember. When we go down don’t get angry then. Don’t get angry when we have another shower of <ovf censored> transfer window in August. Don’t get angry when they publish a meet and greet and he manipulates you all again with his lies and promises.

It’s March 1st tomorrow. Still no free agents in the door although remember he told you all we are looking in the market. We’ve been looking in the market for 18 months.

Oh and by the way, on the back of all the <ovf censored> he is getting, he doesn’t even come out and man it up himself in a trip to radio stoke or a letter from himself. Nope. He sends Carol to do an open letter. Or he has enough control over her for her to do that. This is why I see narcissistic tendencies.

    Think about it.

I agree to an extent...the transfer kitty isn't affected by money spent on community engagement, it's a proportion of the club's income and can't exceed that figure. But there are other reasons for attendances dropping - with the postponements, we are getting too many games too close together...and when they are home games it's a big ask for fans to support Vale every game. I guess, even worse for away games with the cost of travel thrown in? And, yes - I'm aware that fans vote with their feet if the product on  the pitch isn't great. But Vale have always had a core following that doesn't seem to dip?

Without knowing the actual events, I'd hesitate to question the ability or attitude of a professional businessman? I can't see the reason behind DF deliberately leaving us short - what's his motive? But, we don't know how many times players and / or clubs have let us down / changed their minds at the last minute? Or their own targets have fallen through? I know people have said "just get anybody in, FFS - we need bodies!" But - what would have been the reaction if one of those bodies had been Theo Robinson???

It’s three windows though pal!! It’s 18 months of it!
As for a motive…. I don’t know. But look at the mess he got Bury embroiled in!

Fans are now saying “get anybody in” because it almost seems that anybody is better than the crap we have!

Right now. Hand on heart. You mention Theo Robinson. He’d get a game over Loft.
A player we chased and if rumour is true is on over 3k a week. That’s just sheer ineptness at very best.

As for fans not going. I haven’t been since November. That’s not because I can’t. It’s because I can watch it on tv and it’s not appealing to make the effort when I know what’s coming.

All this “get behind the lads” rubbish is just that. The fans do. I have. For 40 years. I’m not paying to watch this crap though. Not a prayer. I’m not stupid. No goals in us. No legs in the middle. Ojo, who by the way has massively downed tools. A defence who couldn’t keep a sheet never mind a clean one! A number 9 who is the worst number nine to EVER wear the shirt. A club full of cliches. The club, in footballing terms alone, forget everything else, is in an absolute chronic mess. And if anyone else thinks otherwise then I’m all ears. But this squad assembled of kids, loanees and utter crap, apart from maybe 4 or 5, is an utter embarrassment and absolutely criminal as to how it’s been left to happen and continued to happen.

Who’s comparing??? I basically agreed with another poster that Pope couldn’t run for jack. One thing he couldn’t do was run as you say he didn’t need to he got in the right areas & stuck nut on it 😆

He would have been clever enough to score that on Tuesday.

    Any more? 🤣

To be fair mate Popey was an intelligent striker. He would have made himself two yards on Tuesday by cutting across the defender. Not sure how it’s come to a point where certain fans are comparing the two.

Tom Pope can have a statue outside the ground.

Ryan Loft can have a burger outside the ground.

  15. I looked back at that miss today and I still can’t understand what he was doing.

At no point did he do anything right. He’s got distance between him and the defender. Come across his line then open up your body and bend it past the keeper. It’s pretty basic stuff. But he just runs straight.  Runs some more. Runs a bit further. Until he can’t run anymore because he’s ran out of pitch. And then prods it out for a goal kick. It wasn’t even Sunday morning stuff. It was utterly embarrassing. He also makes a mess of their equaliser. Go back and watch his involvement on the line.

It’s actually frightening that people go and do a hard days work for 12 quid odd an hour and he’s probably on 7 times that and he’s just dreadfully woeful at his job.

He just needs pulling out of the limelight, protecting and start his career elsewhere because things will just get worse for him.
As it is, fans, and I’m one of them, will just continue to scrutinize him and what a dreadful footballer he is.

Thanks...Ki think...but I'd argue that if a football club doesn't interact with its community, its community doesn't support it? Where do the mascots come from? Who pays for VIP experiences, bringing money into the club? Id we ignore the local schools, we lose a generation of supporters. Would the community have attended  the markets we've held...or the open days? Or the gigs and sportsmen dinners? Like it, or not, these are all examples of community engagement, and help to attract new supporters...otherwise, would any clubs bother doing them? Increased attendances offer the chance to spend more money on the team. It is a balancing act...but ignoring the community interaction is ill-advised.

Never once did I say to neglect the community. And this is nothing new by the way. In 1991, when my school won the division 1 title and I was 11, Mike Pejic, who I think was Rudges number two at the time, came to present us with our medals in assembly.

My point is that we don’t seem to have neglected any aspect of that. Yet the footballing side of matters have suffered for 18 months now. And the neglect in the transfer market has been nothing short of unforgivable.
So we are around 2500 fans missing since Christmas. That’s a lot of money. Most will be season ticket holders. That’s a lot of revenue lost in the ground. That will spiral unless they sort  this <ovf censored> out. Because football fans ultimately care about the football and not about school visits etc.

Giving a cup of tea and a roast dinner to people won’t put the ball in the back of the net.

How do you know what the average fan thinks?

Because I talk to people. I engage in social media. And I see that the generally consensus is that they are football supporters and not feed the community supporters.

If the community (of which we do so much right for) was as neglected as the footballing side of things, it would be a tragedy. But because it’s just kicking a bag of wind for 90 minutes a week, it doesn’t matter that much.

Neglect on the footballing side means that everything around her and what’s she is doing will have to take cuts.

The fans on the terraces are the lifeblood of any football club. She needs get back to that connection and ditch this Hyacynth Bucket, I’m better than thou, persona that she’s become.
