  1. The problem you have, and I’m all for giving Darren Moore a chance, is that when you set your side up like that and basically throw in the towel before a ball is kicked, then you have to win the next game with attacking football and keep our survival alive.

If we’d give our all tonight and failed on Saturday it’s a debate to be had.
If we now fail on Saturday after that shower tonight then questions, rightly or wrongly, will come the managers way.

If you were manager with a 3 day turn around would you prioritise Peterborough away or Exeter at home?

    “Prioritise”?

    Its league one football.

The last thing I would do against ANY league 1 team is park the bus behind a bus and another bus and basically give a team three points before a ball is kicked.

Tonight was an abomination. Regardless of what’s to come.
We waved the white flag at 6.45pm when the team news was announced.
It was three. Could have been 7. Their goalkeeper had his easiest night of the season.

Half time stats showed we were successful in 33% of our tackles.

I am all for putting your eggs in one basket with the three home games but tonight was unforgivable with how we approached it.

Dont go gung ho. Keep it tight. But don’t <ovf censored> quit before a ball was kicked.

    It was free hit.

    Unforgiveable.

He actually has a point. This season comes down to how we perform in the 3 home games. Bolton and Peterborough were/ are free hits. Lose Saturday I'll be despondent.  Never expected much last night, just as well as we delivered little. Bigger issue than the result was Ojo going off. If he's out for the season we will go down.

So, you and him are manager for the Bolton game.

”Right lads. If you lose tonight, we don’t mind because these are a good team”

Yeah mate. Makes loads of sense that.

We were defeated before we kicked a ball tonight.

    That kind of attitude stinks.

Being positive. On paper we lose to bolton everyday. Being optimistic we get a point. If we lose I don't mind cus they are clearly a very good side.

    Kindly <ovf censored> off.

Whoever you are, you certainly aren’t a Vale supporter.

Exactly. I don't know why so many people expect us to be picking up points away at the big teams. I think we can drag 6 points out of the games coming up. Maybe get a draw at Bolton.

If you really are Patrick Shanahan, then you’ve just made yourself look a grade a tool.

    Read your comment back.

To be fair, I don't think he/we will need to worry about his pace as we'll be camped out in our own area for most of the game.

We played the same system against them at their place, last season.
We lost 3-0 and Poku absolutely ruined Mal Benning.

Poku against Grant will be a huge worry tonight.

At least Benning had some legs.

Grant is in for a long long night.

It’s easy to say things from the confines of your arm chair.  Far harder to say them to someone’s face.  I guess we’re all guilty to some degree.

    Not really Ray.

    It works both ways.

I would say my piece face to face and hope I would get some debate back.

Problem being is that when I would meet that person and say what I think, they would crumble. And if they didn’t we’d be mates for life.

There is two kinds of keyboard warriors.

Feedom of speech doesn't mean freedom to be offensive.

    What is “offensive”?

If I’m “offending” you then it’s you who has the issue.

This is why we live in a snowflake world.

I take it you go to the football being on this site.

    Here’s the issue…..

You can’t say <ovf censored> all online nowadays because you’ve been told this is the way forward.
You’re controlled to not actually think what you think but what the way of life wants you to think.

    Well <ovf censored> that.

    I am me. And those snowflakes that don’t like it……… I couldn’t give a shiny <ovf censored> about.

Are you some sort of snowflake?

I can say what I want. If you’re offended that’s your fault.

    Stoke are <ovf censored>. Can’t stand them.

That Lizzo bird is a fat <ovf censored>.

    How did you know?

Through body language. Interviews. Players calling him “Mr Flitcroft”.

    Aint rocket science.
Especially with how great the club, players, staff and fans seem to have been since he’s left.

Man was a piece of <ovf censored>. Thousands chanted to get out of our club for weeks!

Minute he goes we seem to have our club back.

Agree? Or just gonna be a wetwipe in a wetwipe society and wish him all the best and thank him for the job he’s done?

He was part of Burys demise. Thank Christ he’s gone from our football club and won’t be able to ruin it anymore than he did.

Yeah not just that , where are the ones who were slagging Moore off gone they've gone quiet recently 🤔

For me, like I’ve said, Moore had walked into an absolute shambles. With very poor players. Or so it seemed.
His record was awful. His subs were baffling. His set up was delusional at times. But I backed him because of the “awful” players at his disposal.

    Hindsight. Wonderful thing.
But blatantly obvious that Darren wasn’t having 100% control in what he wanted to do.

His interview when he walked through the door mentioned “Dave” a dozen times or more. It was excruciating. That was the power that Flitcroft had and how brainwashed Carol was.

Now we are seeing those “awful” players flourish. A new lease of life.

IF we stay up this should be a massive wake up to Carol that we never go through this again.

Loads of hope now and optimism for the end of season push to safety.

  13. Great things happen when bad eggs leave the club!
We have looked a club transformed since Mr. Narcissist left the club.

That performance today was, like last week, outstanding.
Players were superb. Manager and coaching staff got it spot on.

A special mention to Dipepa, who I’ve said on many occasions that he should be plying his trade in non league, but the lad looked a proper talent. It all has to be down to Flitcroft. It’s way too much of a coincidence that we look a really good team since his departure.
Dipepas goal reminded me a bit of Owens v Argentina. All be it he did handle the ball at the start of the run but we will take it all day long.

Loft. Where has that lad been all season?!! Superb performance.

Debrah. Smith. Yak. Nothing was getting past them. Absolute beasts at the back. What’s happened there!!!

Chizzy. Ran himself into the ground.

Garrity and Ojo. Ran the show.

    Sang and Plant. Superb performances.

    The fans. Great energy.

Just superb all around. And it’s amazing how a director of football leaving the club can bring everyone together and show that kind of performance again.

We still have a massive job on our hands but momentum is massive at this stage of the season.

3 away games coming up. After those 3 games, if we are still within touching distance of staying up I honestly believe we will.

What a turnaround in the last 10 days.

    The hope is real.

  14. If we replicate yesterdays performance, we have every chance in picking up maximum points.

I don’t know what kind of stranglehold that Flitcroft had over all of this. Date I say he was way too involved in picking the team. But it seemed yesterday that the players were playing with freedom and belief. And that energy goes over to the fans as well.

    Now let’s follow it up.

Unbeaten in two now. Win our next game and we can be seen as one of the form teams in the league! Today I saw a team that wanted it. A team that had a striker that has a presence up front at last. A team that remembered how to defend. And while one goal certainly doesn't change my opinion on him, Loft's overall performance does show me what he's capable of. Now he needs to do that much more often. Football fans are fickle. I'm fickle, and then some. Put in effort and score a few goals and you'll get all the praise in the world, even from those who have slagged you off online the most. Hopefully the players and staff can go to work next week and have a bit of a bounce to their step in training. The last two games have given us a chance.

I agree with what you’re saying.

    We now have hope.

We ain’t unbeaten in two though.
Lost 2-0 to Oxford last week.

  16. Loft has done everything right in the build up to his chance. Goalkeeper to beat, 18 yards out, time to set himself, no defender in sight, and yet he can’t hit the target.

Look, I hope he comes good in the 2nd half but it’s a criminal miss at any level of football, never mind being paid 3k a week!

Burton are dreadful. This is a huge 45 minutes. A point is no good. We need all 3.
