Not quite sure how they planning on doing that, for leagues 1 and 2, they talk about 5 fixtures across the 2 leagues each week, would imagine it being 3 league one fixtures and 2 league two fixtures getting shown.  If only 20% being shown in the league I'd be surprised but like you say, that is what they are trying for.  I can just see it, 12.30 away to Gillingham and Bromley.

As far as I’m aware it’s 10 fixtures from the championship. 5 from league 1. 5 from league 2.

Friday nights. Saturday dinner. Saturday evening. Sunday.

Season tickets will be down across the league. The clubs sold out to this though for the money.

  2. “Watch your EFL team at least 20 times next season”

Thats the narrative Sky are pushing.

Almost half of our games next season will not be on a Saturday at 3pm.

Thats the biggest issue for those buying season tickets.

  3. It’s May 11th.
We have 3 months until we kick a ball in anger for the next campaign.
    Darren Moore is here.
Like it or not. (And I’m all for it) He’s here to stay going into the new season.

So let’s cut this negativity of a thread entitled “Moore out”.
    Let’s get it deleted admin.

    Its absolutely pointless.

If you don’t want Darren Moore in charge next season then tough <ovf censored> for you, because it’s not going to happen.

He won’t be sacked in the summer. He’s totally in charge of the footballing side of the club. Fact.
So accept it. Enjoy your summer. And put this entire thread in the bin.

  4. Funny thing about Ojo is that I don’t get the hype. Attitude or not.

Never have I watched a game and thought he was outstanding.
He comes across as a bad egg. He doesn’t have any real connection with the fans. He’s on good money. Get him gone.
I don’t want us to go into next season with question mark over him regarding his attitude.
Like someone pointed out, that’s two seasons on the bounce he’s spat his dummy out at times. A leopard doesn’t change its spots.

People are laughing, but I've got a really strange feeling about this one. He's already made his money, last move of his career in a league where he would run the show, maybe get some coaching badges out of it and hopefully a promotion. It's no secret he absolutely loved playing for Moore at Wednesday. I just don't think it's as daft a move as people are thinking.

    Spot on mate.
Makes perfect sense for both parties.

Nathan Smith won’t be captain next season. He’s stated that. Nobody in that squad says captain material apart from Ben and who knows if he will be here come August.
That statement tonight suggests to me that he has his captain coming into the club already.
I think Bez or Johnny on the pod mentioned Bannan at some point a few weeks ago.
If we were to play a 4-2-3-1 which he mentioned, a 2 of Garrity and Bannan would rip up the league.

Chislett & Garrity I agree with mate but for me Ripley pisses about too much and takes too many chances for my liking but he's a good shot stopper but most of the time he thinks he can play like Bobby Moore and he can't 😬 Ripley's job is to command his area and keep the ball out the net , imo

He’s had that instilled in him by Crosbys tippy tappy crap.
In league 2 you aren’t getting any better than Ripley.
You also need to take into account that his defence in front of him have changed on a game to game basis this season and most of those individuals have been garbage.
    He has been massively overworked.

Yeah I said this months ago , DM inherited a shyte show of a squad hence that's why he struggled, but some fans were digging him out  i reckon we'll be top 4 next season

Again, talk is cheap, but Matt acknowledged the separation between fans and the club. That was good to hear.

Nice to see Carol will be taking a backstep but still very much committed.
Great to hear that Darren will be the football boss of everything.
Let’s not forget, we have a former premier league player and manager, who this time last season had amassed almost 100 points in league 1.

He had no pre season at Huddersfield and walked into an absolute shower here.

We go into next season with a manager who has a proven record and can now get his own players in. We also have a hierarchy who acknowledge they’ve become too nice and mistakes were made.

There were no negatives at all from Matt or Darren tonight. It wasn’t cliche crap. It was all about the hard work starts here and we know what we are doing. Especially Darren.

    To those 17 in contract…….
Look at Ben, Chizzy and Ripley.

If we can keep those three and get rid of a minimum 8 of those deadwood, I’d be over the moon.

For the first time ever, I'am actually going to disagree with you.

Artists play multiple nights at arenas & stadiums etc.

Last year, Kings of Leon played 2 consecutive nights at Wrexham's football ground at the end of May.

No reason why we can not do at least 2 nights of concerts, whoever it is, next year.

I'm under the impression that Stoke City are looking to bring back concerts to the BET365 in the next year or two also.

I think the point is that the bloke suggesting it is living in cuckoo land to put on a concert in a 3 week window!!

    It was a ludicrous question.

ive been very negative about Moore so far, but there was a lot to be positive about from that. I thought his answer about his coaching team was really good. Though Im still not sure about what his vision for how he wants us to play is. Maybe he should have answered that later, because he got better with his answers as it progressed.

I always find these questions very very strange.

I don’t want to know, in public, how he wants us to play. I want winning football.

Crosby and Flitcroft told us how we were going to play and within 8 league games the entire league had sussed it out and didn’t need to do their homework on us.
The average fan could tell you how to beat us this last 18 months.

Why do fans want to know what formation we will play? What style? Keep the secrets under wraps and adapt.

Does anybody else think that the new captain is not yet at our club?

Or, playing devils advocate, he has come out and said there will be a new captain next season because Nathan Smith won’t be here?

Would Darren had told Smith on Monday that he won’t be captain next season?
    Unsure about that.

He’s going to be disappointed come the end of next season 😂 I think top 10 would be realistic or a comfortable mid table finish the first season back after a relegation. Obviously a lot will rely on the summer business or lack of in our case, but there’s some decent teams in that league & it’s not going to be easy getting back up. Will take a few years at least for me. Yes there is some poor teams in league 2 but i don’t think it’s half as bad as some make out.

He’s the definition of a happy clapper. I’ve seen a post today from him. It’s madness.
He’s utterly delusional. Some might say thick.
There’s not much going on up top.

Jesus wept im reading people arguing that we should resign uche. I give up.

Even if he had double the amount of goals, and scored twice, I still wouldnt want him because he cant play a full 90 minutes. There’s no excuse for that. It’s your job. Id also question what the management team was doing allowing that. Im constantly hearing people claim that ‘we cant blame Moore because even pep couldnt get a tune out of these players’, but ill tell you for sure, pep wouldnt be having someone with uches fitness anywhere near his squad, no matter what level he was managing at.

    Spot on.

Hes an 18 stone lump who can’t play football and can’t stay fit.

Fans laughed at Akinfenwa. Now he was a beast who could play football and for 90 minutes at that! Even towards the end of his career.

Uche is a joke of an “athlete”.

I'm not over-rating anyone. But I know that most the sides in League Two won't be anywhere near the same quality as League One.

    Quality. Correct.
A league lower you do need a lot of determination and heart.
Bar 3 or 4, this squad is devoid of any fight whatsoever.

Tom Pope scored 12 goals in yotal during the 3 seasons prior to 2012/13. He was never a regular goal scorer for most of his career. He scored 10 plus goals 5 times, 4 of which were in league 2. He had 2 fantastic seasons as a goal scorer, first season back being the other. If you discount the promotion season he scored around a goal every 4 games. That's a good record for someone whose game was more than just goals but not a prolific goal scorer. The fact is most fans were disparaging of him in the summer prior to his dream season. I made quite a few posts on here saying he deserved the chance to prove he could be the main man and was pretty roundly condemned for saying he could score 15 goals.

Tom Pope was paid more than 3k a week at Bury.

Tom Pope had also scored over 80 goals at the age of 29. Uche isn’t near that.
And if you believe the narrative, Uche was being paid 4500 quid a week this season.

I see nothing in that donkeys game that says he worthy of a wage in any professional football league.

A manager's job is to sign players who will do well next season.  Uche has at times done OK in terms of goals in the relatively distant past. If Moore believes he can do it again with his coaching and system then he should sign him. Like all managers he will then be judged on the outcome.  What I think (somewhat sceptical) or any fan shouldn't come into it.

Not many fans wanted us to sign Pope in 2011 and some wanted to get rid of him in summer 2012. Signing him and keeping Pope is arguably the defining reason Adams is remembered so fondly at the club.

If you are bringing Tom Pope into the debate, then you are comparing the two players.
So I’ll break down the two players…..

Number 1. Tom was a goalscorer. Uche is not.
Number 2. Tom could hold the ball up with a delicate touch. Uche has a trampoline foot.
Number 3. When Tom won headers they would go to another player or in the onion bag. When Uche wins headers they bounce off his 50p head. That’s if he actually connects at all!
Number 4. Tom was a professional footballer who loved the club and lived his dream. Uche is acting like a professional footballer who certain fans think he’s ok because he’s 18 stone and causes a nuisance.

If a 29 year old Pope was worth 300k in the market and got roughly 3k a week in wages then a 29 year old Uche is worth 50 quid and a bag of washers and should be on minimum wage.

The two are miles apart in terms of goalscoring and ability.

Yes Uche has never been prolific but he's played most of his career in League 1 or the Championship so plenty of qualified people in the game have seen fit to employ him. It would be interesting to know how many goals his strike partners & attacking midfielders have scored when playing alongside him. Don't get me wrong I would expect us to sign at least 2 strikers who know where the back of the net is but I think there is room for Uche in a squad of 4/5 strikers. There will be games/opposition that will suit his style. It would depend for me on whether we would be able to offload Loft as there probably isn't room for both of them.

In his last two home games he’s managed to not connect with a header from one yard out, make a passback to the keeper from the edge of the box and hit the roof of the Hamil.

League 1, league 2 or Sunday morning level, he ain’t gonna be scoring goals.

Just because he’s got a catchy song doesn’t make him good enough. Fans need to realise he’s a waste of a wage and if he gets a contract then we are bang in trouble from the get go.

I never ever want to see him wear the shirt again.

Yeah. Got bored, had a look.

    Since the 19/20 season:

Wilson 8,368 minutes (works out at 92 x 90min games). Around 1 goal every 3 games.

Uche 6,751 minutes (works out at 75 x 90min games). Around 1 goal every 6 games.

I don't think anyone at the club looks at things like this. It's very worrying.

    This.

Are you conveniently ignoring the season he scored 14 goals for Cambridge in league 2 because it doesn't fit your dialogue? 🙂

No. I’m telling you what I see with my own eyes. The bloke is utter garbage. That’s not dialogue. That’s a fact that people really should see with their own eyes.

Is this the same for minutes played?

1 "appearance" could be a 1 minute time waster sub or a full 90 minutes.

I’d bet my life that James Wilson comes out on top in that respect as well!

Uche could play all night and not score.

Give me Wilson for ten minutes, half fit, over Uche for 90 minutes fully fit.

  20. James Wilson. 28 years old.

    Last 4 seasons. 134 games. 31 goals.

    Uche Ikpeazu. 29 years old.

    Last 4 seasons. 85 games. 12 goals.

If Wilson is classed as always injured and we have let him go, then Christ only knows what Uche is classed as and we are offering him a contract!!!

    Now make that make sense.
