Am I right in thinking that Carol pointed the Plymouth way as a club to emulate ? Despite them always having the capability of double our gates . They consolidated, then lost out on the last day to make play offs, then won the title. Can't imagine they had no strikers and were an absolute embarrassment for months on end.

Totally agree about the coaches. A lot of people will be working but if we did four or five coach loads it would cost maybe 5 grand ? I know it wasn't Vale's fault but would of been greatly appreciated by many. I've still yet to receive a reply from Reading about refunding my train ticket which I wasted my breath doing anyway.

Didn't seem to get the minutes did he at all. Then obviously got injured for Wales. His sheer pace caused the winner at Charlton. And I think he scored a nice goal against Sutton. But generally was underused . Ben Williamson had pace but was erratic. I think Thomas didn't really fit our system 🤔.

It's like you with Smith mate. I just don't rate him whatsoever. Freed by Salford and ends up at Port Vale for what will be 4 years whist probably playing less than 80 games in those 4 years. The fact he's injured again would sum him up. And you can't deny that a couple of free kicks he gave away on Saturday were beyond awful. And sadly I still remember his performance at Barnsley. He's just never fit is he. Far worse than Wilson.

On what basis does Jones make your midfield mate ? If he does his Hollywood ball from further up the pitch it's just going to go for a Reading goal kick.

Exactly I know you put etc so I'll add some of the other names. Cheltenham,Exeter,Burton,Lincoln and Shrewsbury. That's 9 teams who will have a lower playing budget or similar to ours. Maybe Lincoln are a bit out of place in my list as they get 8 to 9 thousand gates. There's something amiss. Unbudgeted for 1/4 final run. Record shirt sales . Reasonable average crowds of maybe 6200 come the season end. Yet we have not been able to attract any players despite our wonderful amazing off field behaviours. 🙄.

Not sure we really had a hope anyway despite building our hopes up.
