  1. I know we’ve been struggling at wing back most of the season and I know we need people back from injury. But call me a miserable old cynic, I saw that in amongst the <ovf censored> on Twitter that Mitch Clark replied to one of the clubs posts (probably the open letter Carol tweet) with an attention seeking post of his own about it great to be back in the grass. I’ve noticed hes done this a lot over the last few years, puts a comment to get a attention from fans (usually our own), but I felt his reply to the clubs open letter was the wrong time and place to put it. Anyway hopefully he’s back soon and has managed to find some form whilst he’s been away.
  2. I thought it was DC but happy to be corrected. IIRC they talked about small margins to try and give the players a boost on matchdays.
  3. Are you being serious? If we want to attract players then training facilities are one of the things they think about. Our training pitches are heavy and need redoing so as to minimise injuries and to enable us to have decent sessions. A point raised by DC was that constantly using the club dressing room means it loses its special appeal come a Saturday, that’s why separate dressing rooms and new gym facilities are needed separate to the ground, a proper training complex if you like.
  4. It’s all well and good listing the clubs “achievements” since they took over. For which fans are grateful for. But we don’t need reminding of it and for that to be seemingly used as something to try make us feel guilty about for daring to question what’s going on. But what’s neglected in that letter is matters on the pitch, this is the here and now and we are a club in danger of being relegated. We have just come out of our second successive January weaker than when we went into it and we have also sacked our manager straight after the window yet again. As chair of the club they have to take the rough with the smooth, it’s not always going to go well and it’s very easy to walk on the pitch smiling and waving when things are good. They have to put this right and seeing as Flitcroft is in charge of all matters on the pitch then who else should be vented at? Dare I say that the people at the top could have taken their eye off the ball whilst concentrating on everything else around the team.
  5. We are hamstrung by this 3 at the back nonsense. Play Benning as a left back and he’s a steady player, as seems to be the case at Shrewsbury for him now. Tonight highlighted how poor our options are if we need to go 4 at the back in a game as we have no fullbacks. Should have gone out in jan and got a right and left back.
  6. I spoke to Colin not long after he left and he said to me that he did not leave of his own accord and that he didn’t want to leave.
  7. I disagree. No way were Arblaster and Devine going to carry this team singlehanded.
  8. I never said it was the logic or reasoning anyone uses for a signing. You’re just blinkered by a goal ratio stat. But it's not just about goal ratios, we all know how DC likes to play, he could be a physical target man to hold the ball up, he could be someone that runs channels and causes problems. He may have other attributes to bring to a team. He could even score the winner or get an assist against us. We’ve signed no one up front.
  9. Another reality is that a lot of those fans doing it are clueless too.
  10. Someone’s having a poor game, a poor run of form, has just misplaced a pass or made a mistake or heaven forbid passed it backwards… what’s the best way to give that player some support? I know some fat middle aged blokes booing them and calling them <ovf censored>, that’s how. The money doesn’t matter and football isn’t just about entertainment.
  11. Well if that striker comes in and only scores one goal and it’s the one it takes to win a tight game at the end of the season that keeps them up then goal ratios mean nothing. It’s also another body. When you need fresh legs or something to change things up a bit. With us being light on strikers we don’t have that opportunity.
  12. Been slowly catching up on the transfer news and was about to say that Cass’s agent must be a magician to get him a loan to Stockport. Than I read that he’s worked under their manager before.
  13. 1 in 12 in non league is better than the nothing we’ve currently signed though isn’t it.
  14. Cambridge have also signed someone who’s scored a few goals before.
  15. Regarding Tommy McDermott. There’s sometimes a lot of luck involved in football when kids or players get scouted or picked up by another club. Someone could have been watching on a particular day who sees something in him that no one else has, a particular skill or attribute. Maybe on that day he ticks a box for a type of player they’re looking for. Dont blame him for going. He probably wasn’t going anywhere here, he’s got himself an instant pay rise and more levels of football to drop down to on loan or to develop. Good luck to him.
  16. It’s not the first time we’ve done something like that. Mitch Clark springs to mind too. Young players are idiots if they act like that, word of mouth in football means a lot.
  17. And that’s just the women (sorry ladies).
  18. Christ, a face only a mother could love. Shouldn’t be too worried about sticking his head in and getting injured.
  19. No why would he? He was going back to his parent club. it could have been missed. He might not have told Liverpool about it. It could have been more serious than he thought it was. Or who knows with football, it could be a smokescreen for another reason .
  20. If he’d told them about the injury he had of course.
  21. Liverpool don’t give a medical to player moving to another club though. The club they’re going to should do that.
  22. As daft as it may sound a performance like this on live tv could see a league club come in for him.
  23. I really struggle to get excited about an untried youngster coming in on loan. All being well he works out like Arblaster and Devine did.
  24. You’re Nathan smith keeping an eye on VFIA / Devine intervention?
