  1. Said the same earlier, but someone isn’t listening, as they still think the remainder of the contract MUST be paid up in full.
  2. It is absolutely true though. The player could turn around and say I didn’t ask to leave, but you’ve agreed a fee (or he’s told he can leave for nothing because they want him out), so he asks for a percentage of his wages. It is genuine.
  3. All the talk of uche going and us having to pay his wages is a real grey area. There are many ways it could go. We could demand a fee or else he isn’t going anywhere. We could let him go for no fee if we just wanted him off the books. We could come to an agreement over his last 6 months and not pay the full amount but pay a percentage of it. He could get a signing on fee / increased wages / longer contract there and ask us if he can go for nothing. it’s not cut and dried that a player has to have his full contract paid up. It just depends how negations go between the clubs and agent.
  4. But there’s a massive difference between getting hammered by half time and still being in the game at half time, despite what we may think of what we have or haven’t created. It’s face it, if he hadn’t changed it he would have got criticised for not changing things. So it’s whatever suits the narrative isn’t it.
  5. Of course we were desperate to get back in it somehow. But without checking any stats I can’t think of another game apart from the opening match where we were so far out of it at half time.
  6. The thing is that football clubs up and down the country have seen what Uche can bring to a team and have bought him in to do a job. He isn’t making a career of it by being totally crap. The old dreaded nasty agent theory. No contract is going to say you talk to other clubs if you want to. It may have a release clause in there. Maybe other clubs have contacted us and come in for him who are looking for a striker like him? Maybe we’ve told him he can go as we’ll get a fee? Maybe he’s unhappy here and wants to leave? Maybe he hasn’t brought to the team what we thought he would and we have someone else lined up? Maybe he’s going to get more money by moving? Loads of factors come in to play and other clubs will know he only has 6 months left in his deal. I disagree. We’re losing a game that we need to get back in and what we were doing in the first half wasn’t working, he had to change it and whether we were top of the league or bottom I think he would have done the same.
  7. Plymouth had just lost a loan player who plays in midfield too who went back to his parent club and then was farmed back out to Stoke. Maybe they’ve identified Devine as his replacement.
  8. The 2 latest loans seem to indicate that we have been working in the background to identify replacements just in case they went back to their parent club. Hopefully we have someone lined up to replace Devine.
  9. Is Williams a left or right sided centre half?
  10. I couldn’t go the game, but I wouldn’t be happy at having the day ruined and the match having to potentially be replayed because of their fans protesting. Fine, protest, but get off the pitch so the game can carry on. I don’t go along with the thought that it’s fine because we were in the same situation a few years ago, it’s like some faux solidarity with other football fans that a miserable git like me can’t get on board with. I only care about us. I know people will say that we need to make a stand against owners like theirs and so on and so forth. But it’s not our issue and it’s all at the expense of a tickets, petrol, food, drink etc and a full day wasted. I felt we had a good chance of going there and getting something yesterday and a midweek game (if it gets replayed) puts a different spin on it.
  11. Another of the promotion winning squad that should be afforded a warm welcome if he ever comes back to play against us or comes to visit in the future. Came in for a lot of stick at times and still gave it his best for us. Now he gets to do the promotion thing all over again with Oldham.
  12. It’s the training pitches that need upgrading too. They’re too heavy apparently.
  13. “Fortunate periods” - just another way of saying I don’t like this manager and I’m disappointed that we found ways to go on a run and gain some points. It’s a back handed compliment said through gritted teeth.
  14. Agree with this and now I think l we can see where we need to strengthen. Wingback / fullback who can give us more options to change things during a game, 1 centre mid (poss 2) and someone creative like Airblaster. Be interesting to see what happens with Devine and Balmer too.
  15. There has to be another issue at the club rather than it just being the players fault. Heard plenty of talk of the training pitches being too heavy and that speedy was very critical of them and wanted to replace them (along with the main pitch) before he left.
  16. It’s bad enough watching your kids playing amateur football and trying to get involved by saying stuff to fans / other parents being negative at that level. Cant imagine it’s worth having a pop at fans around you in a crowd of thousands at a professional game.
  17. If we can get someone else to play wingback yes..
  18. I think the writing was on the wall once he had his shirt number taken off him. Now he can’t even make the bench when we have a lot of injuries which clearly says that Crosby isn’t having him. Wouldnt be surprised to see him off to Cheltenham in January. It’s a shame, he’s been good for us. But equally he’s also been playing in a side doing poorly so Im not convinced he’s as pivotal to us staying up or not as people may think. He can’t do it on his own. Hes a loan who was always going to go back given factors like how Sheffield are doing, how well he’s played individually, the big injury he just suffered and how the mood has turned here too. Now we need other players to step up to the plate or we bring in someone as good in January.
  19. I think we’ll wait till after the Carlisle game. But if it’s going to be done it needs doing soon so we have the whole window for a new bloke to get any players in / get rid of those he doesn’t want.
  20. DC could be getting the band back together down at Cheltenham.
  21. Yes that’s what I said, it was his decision to come back early.
  22. Have to say that the word from people I knew at the club at the time was that DC called the shots about when he was going to come back. It was his decision. Not the club asking him to come back him.
  23. At this rate Ben Garrity could attract some interest.
  24. Let’s say we had signed him back as we intended in August, we would have been rotating between him, clark, grant, Massey and plant as wingbacks. More options between the 5 of them. More options to go 4 at the back in a game if needed and also less load on players like Clark and Grant. Either way we need to be recruiting for the wingback position come January whoever it is that we bring in.
