  1. I disagree. No way were Arblaster and Devine going to carry this team singlehanded.
  2. I never said it was the logic or reasoning anyone uses for a signing. You’re just blinkered by a goal ratio stat. But it's not just about goal ratios, we all know how DC likes to play, he could be a physical target man to hold the ball up, he could be someone that runs channels and causes problems. He may have other attributes to bring to a team. He could even score the winner or get an assist against us. We’ve signed no one up front.
  3. Another reality is that a lot of those fans doing it are clueless too.
  4. Someone’s having a poor game, a poor run of form, has just misplaced a pass or made a mistake or heaven forbid passed it backwards… what’s the best way to give that player some support? I know some fat middle aged blokes booing them and calling them <ovf censored>, that’s how. The money doesn’t matter and football isn’t just about entertainment.
  5. Well if that striker comes in and only scores one goal and it’s the one it takes to win a tight game at the end of the season that keeps them up then goal ratios mean nothing. It’s also another body. When you need fresh legs or something to change things up a bit. With us being light on strikers we don’t have that opportunity.
  6. Been slowly catching up on the transfer news and was about to say that Cass’s agent must be a magician to get him a loan to Stockport. Than I read that he’s worked under their manager before.
  7. 1 in 12 in non league is better than the nothing we’ve currently signed though isn’t it.
  8. Cambridge have also signed someone who’s scored a few goals before.
  9. Regarding Tommy McDermott. There’s sometimes a lot of luck involved in football when kids or players get scouted or picked up by another club. Someone could have been watching on a particular day who sees something in him that no one else has, a particular skill or attribute. Maybe on that day he ticks a box for a type of player they’re looking for. Dont blame him for going. He probably wasn’t going anywhere here, he’s got himself an instant pay rise and more levels of football to drop down to on loan or to develop. Good luck to him.
  10. It’s not the first time we’ve done something like that. Mitch Clark springs to mind too. Young players are idiots if they act like that, word of mouth in football means a lot.
  11. And that’s just the women (sorry ladies).
  12. Christ, a face only a mother could love. Shouldn’t be too worried about sticking his head in and getting injured.
  13. No why would he? He was going back to his parent club. it could have been missed. He might not have told Liverpool about it. It could have been more serious than he thought it was. Or who knows with football, it could be a smokescreen for another reason .
  14. If he’d told them about the injury he had of course.
  15. Liverpool don’t give a medical to player moving to another club though. The club they’re going to should do that.
  16. The club have to come out and deny it at this stage. Doesn’t mean it’s dead in the water. There have been loads of credible rumours recently of other people being interested in taking over / putting money in and if a prospective buyer can tempt Robbie to join them then it’s going to help sweeten the deal and provide some extra cash behind the bid too. I think it will happen soon that Carol has to get rid or get investment from elsewhere. We can’t continue as we are scraping by on loans in jan hoping we have enough.
  17. I was watching at home, but when that happened I started to flick around between about 6 league one games to see what was going on. In at least half of them the same thing happened, keeper sat down and the players went to the manager. It’s a staged injury that everyone does for a break and a tactical chat.
  18. Just to let you know that next week hasn’t happened yet though.
  19. It’s never a penalty. But by making a challenge like that you run the risk of them giving a penalty. The linesman should help the ref out there. Christ now we have some idiot on the pitch.
  20. As daft as it may sound a performance like this on live tv could see a league club come in for him.
  21. And it’s probably better to be somewhere where he’ll be appreciated rather than continue with the stick he was getting here.
  22. I really struggle to get excited about an untried youngster coming in on loan. All being well he works out like Arblaster and Devine did.
  23. You’re Nathan smith keeping an eye on VFIA / Devine intervention?
