The bloke is absolutely deluded. Scouring the Scandinavian market for the next Ryan Loft is he?
Doesn't fill me with any hope, especially his comments about the rest of this window. Bite the pillow for the second half of the season, we're in for a rough ride.Or the nest Jan Jansen??

I would take Smith or Knibbs off them
We were reportedly after Smith in the summer. I assume he went there for the money. Why were they paying big wages when they had no money to pay them??

Tommy Widd surely holds the club record for earliest red card? Couple of mins into a 3-2 defeat at Birmingham in the late 90s if memory serves me right.
Thing was, that was his first game back after serving a 3 Game suspension for another red card!!

Sorry to be pedantic Badboy, and it maybe just me but I really hate it when fans of other clubs refer to Manchester United as "United". I find this lauded familiarity quite nauseating. We never seem to see them being referred to as just Manchester as we do Bristol or Sheffield. Minor issue I know but whenever I meet a fellow football fan and they say they support "United", I often reply with "Ah, shame Rotherham are struggling this year"
Is it just me?
Annoys me as well Doc. When they play Newcastle they get referred to as "United" yet Newcastle were United in 1892 while Manchester Reds were still Newton Heath!

Keep up Jean fans have said on their forum 🙂 but more importantly Osh has also stated this and that will do for me,me owd fruit
Couldn’t see it on their forum when I looked - just a suggestion that Uche was the fall back if they didn’t get Ladapo.

It was widley reported; I also stated it (a few pages back - the guy that told me we were signing players earlier this week, and who is close to the club, WA me this morning to tell me.
Has that come from Charlton?

Where is the evidence that Uche failed the medical???

What do you think we are entitled to? League 2 football? Conference level stuff? Sod that. May as well have stuck with Smurfwaite.
I don’t know why so many people try to compare the sacrifice of the average fan with what Carol has put in. She chose to buy the club, so the least she can do is stick some money in.
It is more realistically to compare it to buying the Rover group. All the workers at longbridge cheered on John Towers for saving the company. Just one problem, they had no money. So they couldn’t develop any new models and the one they did, the Cityrover, was rubbish nobody wanted to buy. Nobody wanted them, sales dwindled and the company went bust.
Carol is John Towers, our squad is the City Rover and our fans are the customers who will leave in droves. The rest writes itself.
Monkey dust is a terrible thing.

If he does go today - to Wycombe - could he conceivably line up against us on Saturday?
Only if the signing is registered by 12 noon. Same applies to any signing we make.

We should be in for the likes of Cole Stockton.
Our “philosophy” is well and good and will probably make money.
The academy products. Sold. And others will go. Money.Crosby. His style of play. Never ever ever will change. Tweeked but will always stay a constant. Like it or lump it.
Flitcroft. Earns money for Carol? He stays.
All I needed in my life today to know where the club is going is that Alfie Devine interview.
Its football manipulation.
Every question is thought out.
Every question will have been fed to Alfie.
Every question is now out there in social media to say to the suits at clubs higher than us that we are a good club.
You may as well have held Alfie down and said say what we want you to say.
I absolutely loved Alfie being here but if that’s the way football is going then it’s not for me.
Its so robotic it’s untrue.
I ask the older generation in here…. Is football fun anymore? Is there real passion? I don’t see it. I honestly don’t see it. All I see is a business. I see Port Vale Football Club as a business. A business where Carol Shanahan wants to make money. Nothing wrong with that. But she doesn’t care. She doesn’t. She cares about money. And she, like any other football club owner will put on a front saying that they care, virtue signaling her silly little scarf, when in reality they don’t! They care about making money.
And don’t get me wrong, I’d rather have her in charge of the club than Smurthwaite, as one wants to make money whereas the other just wanted to steal money but wouldn’t it be lovely to take the politics out of everything.
I don’t want my club to be “robotic”. That’s what we are and that’s what fans can’t see. A robotic club making money for the owners. I want my club to sign the best players and go and challenge up the leagues.
A lot of this season has been <ovf censored>. Let’s not dress that up. But on the field, when Stockport and Wrexham come up next season, maybe Notts County, that’s more clubs surpassing us on the pitch.Because when Carlisle, Fleetwood, Reading go down, that’s a lot harder to get points off than the latter mentioned.
The virtue signaling in this club might be ok for a long term plan but the hardcore supporter will just leave whilst the <ovf censored> on the pitch continues. Apart from cracks papered over this last month.
January 18th. Still no striker. Lost our two best players which weren’t ours in the first place. It’s all a bit of a philosophical mess!
If you think the Shanahans are in it to make money you are absolutely deluded.
Why should we sign a striker like Cole Stockton who hasn’t scored a league goal this season?
And football is fun because I get to have a good laugh at the **** some folk post on here.
And that is opinion so feel free to argue

There's a lad that's been at Crewe, Joe White, who they seem to rave about. I think he's on loan and they've just brought in a similar type of player...
Sent from my SM-A137F using onevalefan mobile app
He's on loan from Newcastle and has just been recalled.

Between this month and the summer we need to get rid of -
Jones
Cass

Conlon
Loft
Obviously the loanees will go back down the line. Other than Arblaster all have been poor to average, including Devine.
How do you propose getting rid of Loft when he can’t play for another club this season??

Spot on. But without Ojo and Sang currently we're looking a lot worse off than that night.
Ojo played in the back three that night and Conlon was in midfield.

Interestingly, one of our best performances of the season was the Cup replay at Burton when neither Ollie nor Alfie played because they were in international duty.

He should have got that 2yr deal. Regardless of age, he was 1 of, if not our fittest player. Rarely injured, always gave 100%... oh and he was better than anything we've got.
I wonder if the emergence of James Plant queered Wozza’s pitch?

Yes, all league.
Cups this calendar year: Played 13, won 5, drawn 5, lost 3. I've included the 3 draws that went to penalty shootouts as draws in there, against Crewe and Newcastle U21s which were "wins" and against Stevenage which was a "loss". Otherwise its won 7, drawn 2, lost 4.
Of those 13, 6 were against League 2 or U21 opposition, 6 were against League 1 opposition, and 1 was against Championship opposition.
Brings our overall, in all competitions record in 2023 as:
Played 57
Won 15
Drawn 15
Lost 27
A win percentage of 26%, which is shocking, and fan dissent has been incredibly restrained. Even if you take leaps and consider the penalty shootout wins as "won" games, our win% this calendar year is 30%.
The played 57 is interesting.
