My worry is that we'll get relegated to league 2 again, which is a concern because it's a terrible division to be in. Whether you can "do anything about it" isn't the point. That's like someone saying that a mother of a boxer is an idiot to worry about the welfare of their son in the ring "because she can't do anything about it"
But the mother of a boxer can do something by trying to persuade him and hiding his gloves!
And I didn’t at any point say that people who worry about signings are idiots. They are perfectly entitled to if they want. I was simply saying I won’t.

No, I wasn't, I would have refused if offered anyway. Its all in Allan Clarke's book.
Clarke was never in the Cabinet.

I’m not worried about signings. There is nothing I can do to change things so worrying is a waste of energy. What will be will be.

No she didn't, she butted in all the time in Cabinet. Lawson was the only one who ignored her and continued with his statements, both talking at the same time.
Didn’t know you were in Thatcher’s Cabinet?

Margaret Thatcher allowed cabinet ministers to argue with her.She then told them they were wrong.
But she allowed the debate. Johnson didn’t.

That was tough on the Spaniards but don’t care!!!!

The Tory party may well be diverse in its ethnicity but not at all in its thinking. Just look at how each candidate at the last election had to sign up to Johnson’s Brexit deal or they were kicked out. The party has lost a fair number of independent thinkers as a result which is why the Cabinet is now so lightweight. Thatcher, for all her faults, allowed cabinet members to argue with her. Johnson has only wanted nodding dogs.

You have to laugh at this bloke or you’d cry!!!

I see there is a Fans' Forum this Thursday. Does anyone else think that they would not have risked this without a couple of signings being in the bag??

The point which has been made above is absolutely correct - it is different and shouldn’t be judged against the men’s game. No one criticises female sprinters for not being able to run as fast as Bolt. Or Serena Williams for not being able to serve as fast as John Isner but a lot of blokes mock women’s football because it’s not as “good” as men’s. Let’s be honest, we’ve watched some absolutely turgid stuff over the years from the England men’s team that have sent us to sleep!!!

What I said. Google woke. She shouldn’t have done this but if that really upsets people that much then these are the type of people that a leader needs to be sticking up against.
If Angela Rayner had done that the Mail and Express would have spontaneously combusted.

She represented Liberal when she was at university and quickly converted to Conservative, this is excusable, many are Labour when at uni or college and then grow up to understand politics better. Being a remainer is unforgivable but at least she saw the day and understood what was right in the end.
In other words she just wanted to be on the winning side. Like swapping from United to City!!

Does anyone know the real Truss? She’s been Lib Dem, Tory, Remainer and Leaver. It’s had to keep track. The Remainer/Leaver bit sounds a bit like Johnson.

Why wouldn’t you have Truss? And who would be your preference?
Truss was extremely wooden in the Channel 4 debate tonight.

Looking at the front pages of the Mail and Express today, they are absolutely desperate to scupper Mourdaunt.
They’ve given up trying to stop Sunak so have started on Mordaunt. Pathetic.

Good to get this all done before inflation bungs the costs up even more.

Amazing amount of work going on.

Spot on Bill. Would you trust Truss?
Well she was originally a Lib Dem and a remainer. Now she’s a Tory and a brexiteer.

Just a thought no rumour at all…. Tommy Lowery still in a <ovf censored> situation at Crewe. Would be a great addition to our midfield - maybe a player plus deal?
I thought Lowery was out of contract?

He was landlord of the Coopers Arms in Woore when he retired I believe.

How many of these deals have been negotiated from scratch and how many are simply a roll over of the EU deal?

Last year of his contract, poor performance at Pompey on loan, not sure he fits the Matrix.
Indeed. From wiki:
On 18 January 2022, Walker joined League One side Portsmouth on loan until the end of the 2021–22 season after being signed by former Lincoln manager Danny Cowley. The loan spell was largely disappointing as he scored just one goal in nine starts and six substitute appearances for "Pompey" and was an unused substitute in the final six matches of the campaign despite being the highest paid player at Fratton Park. Jordan Cross of the Portsmouth News wrote that "Walker will go down as one of the worst and most expensive loan mistakes seen at Pompey in recent years"
