I don't remember Smurftwat having lots of prospective buyers?

Are you forgetting the Norwegian consortium and the bloke from Hong Kong both of whom were on the verge of buying us?!

Root: from Greek 'phila' meaning 'lover of' and 'anthropos' meaning humanity. So in the broadest sense of the word Mother Teresa (Saint Teresa of Calcutta) was a philanthropist, but in the modern sense it's used to refer to rich people who give money to help people worse off. Is Carol in that category? I'll let you make your mind up on that one.

    Yes she is.

Belly allocated the funds to buy players in the old championship. Foyle, Cross, Van derLaan cost a few Bob.

Can't see players of that standard at Vale park nowadays.

But Rudgie brought in that money.

Bratty was a lifetime fan as was Belly

Does he have a season ticket?  And Belly was ace at making money out of the club.

You can't actually really believe that, that they just decided they needed to be the ones to save Port Vale. I'm pretty sure her and Kevin had a good think what could be in it for themselves before anything else and before making any offer.

Some people are philanthropists.  You've never come across the concept it seems.

Yes I was around 🙄 been around since the end of rudgies days 👍🏻 my point being I don’t believe people buy football clubs to be nice from the bottom of their heart.

That’s why Steve Gibson bought Middlesbrough.

  7. Carol and Kevin bought the club to free it from the dreadful clutches of the previous owner. They made offers which he rejected and they could easily have walked away. They then both spoke at length to two members of Black and Gold at Cheltenham in Feb 2019. On the way back they decided they had to pay the ransoM and get the club back. The rest is history!

Smith has been mucked about by the style of football Flitcroft seemed hell bent on introducing,  in my opinion he's been hung out, he's an out and out defender nothing flash just hard and rugged, he's not a ball playing centre half.

The criticism of Saturdays mistake is probably justified but if the referee had been as pedantic as he was all game he would have moved the free kick further back and closer to the touchline where the foul took place, he would also have booked Taylor for kicking the ball away.

Not defending the lad but he should have enough credit in the bank, his confidence must be shot trying to play like  Paolo Maldini,  if we are intent on blame the management are just as culpable not playing to his strengths.

I’m not expecting Smith to play like Paolo Maldini but it would be really nice if he looked like him. 🥰

The ref and stupid linesmen were all Lincoln all afternoon couldn't wait give the goal and couldn't wait give a pen yet blowing up for nothing when we were building up a head of steam especially the railway liner

The ref was <ovf censored> but I think there striker was 10 yards away from Smith when he tried take it the fact he passed it straight to there forwards needs be investigated.

If folk don't think match fixing goes on watch what's happening regularly in our games it is I swear it is well I've seen enough of it if the games not going be a honest mans game anymore do not want anything more do with ,it maybe for the best as Vale has taken up and consumed majority of my free time thoughts for last 15 /20 years .

It's become a obsession a very unhealthy one at that .

I don't want be nasty or spiteful towards our players I really don't but I'm.sick of watching absolute rubbish.

We lack so much but how we supposed to turn it round if we all criticising every one poor Carol was crying wasn't she my heart goes out to her it really does .

I'd love say get behind everyone but how can we when the people we go watch are just not good enough to do it .

Recruitment wasn't poor when we had chance go top v Burton was it but the downturn in application effort desire and will to win is downright pathetic injuries not helping though but ain't that the same as everyone .

No signing of strikers on transfer day was footballing suicide but no signing of a leader was worse .

I don't want criticise Flitcroft but he as left us in this mess at present however we still have 14 games go so hope are people going gauge whether it's his fault or not .

If stay up as his Recruitment been acceptable YES .

If go down then obviously NO.

However football is a very well paid job and if you have a certain amount of money to spend on players but that certain amount can only cover  one players wages then the rest of the squad be poor as.

Think that's why we cannot sign a striker because we cannot pay good money for one ,so we have to budget for goals from midfield Chislett and Garrity have done that and both given us at least a little pleasure watching Vale this season and some smashing goals .

I just think we were doing just fine then Clark got injured Arblaster got injured and Garrity got injured

Not all over yet surely DM can get wins out of that lot I'm sure he can ,they have much more give than what there givingat present  which in itself is a major concern .

Because you don't need to be 10 yards away if intercepting a quick free kick. Law 13.

Because "If a defender starts holding an attacker outside the penalty area and continues holding inside the penalty area, the referee must award a penalty kick." Law 12.

But it wasn’t a quick free kick. When the ref whistled Taylor knocked the ball away to stop a quick free kick. He had plenty of time to retreat 10 yards and didn’t.

How so? Impress on loan, have a clause in the loan he can be recalled, have no plan to replace him and be left in the <ovf censored>?

We got half a season out of him which is more than we've had from some of the walking wounded we've signed.

  12. I suspect the squad is as pissed off with the DoF as the fans are. Surely they were expecting some reinforcements up front in the window yet of the four brought in, only one played yesterday.

Darren Moore should have bought his job on Amazon then he could have exercised the 30 day return option when he’d unwrapped it and saw what he’d been given.
