I saw that Exeter gave the travelling Boro fans a free cup of tea during the last round.
They did that in our league game last year.

I don't understand what the club is thinking here.
At these prices I won't be attending the game Xmas week, I'm sure I won't be the only one.
You have 6 weeks to save for it??

Agreed. Don’t know if anyone else subscribes to the athletic, but reminds me very much of that. The piece we got today for example was far better than anything we got before or anything the stoke fans get
The Athletic is great and well worth the sub.

What they get for free is garbage. What we are getting for 20p a week is high quality journalism.

This will not be a subscription to the Senile website which is, let's face it, totally unreadable. It is to a dedicated Port Vale news service, written by Baggers and sent to your email address. It won't have garbage adverts interrupting the text like we have now and will, I'm told, have more in depth coverage than we used to get when Mike was having to cover other teams like Chester before. I subscribe to The Athletic which has a similar format and charges about a fiver a month. I'm giving it a go.

Academy manager with 4 years experience gets caretaker job. There is no mention of her playing football. How many football managers have not played league football? Some will only have played non league. Would be a massive task irrespective of her gender.
She has four years experience in their academy and another six years at Burton before that. She has UEFA Pro licence and has never been sacked unlike many who will apply for the job. Of course the one thing she hasn't got is a penis so she's bound to be useless! And Mourinho had never played football at any level but he's done OK.

Our Nath now gone from Southampton. That lasted long. Nothing will ever take away the wonderful job he did down the road and thank him for his service on that.
Manager Nathan Jones cost Southampton a staggering £8.4m for 94 days work and just one Premier League win. ..... His £1.25m per year contract was due to last 3.5 years and is likely to be paid in full. ..... And on top of that, they paid Luton £4m compensation to get him in to St Mary's.

Brucey Bonus incoming! Sacked. Appointing Bruce to manage your football club is equivalent to Oscar Wilde’s comment on second marriage - the triumph of hope over experience!

Baggies boss looks likely to get another Brucey Bonus soon.

I wonder how Stoke feel about taking Rowett when Potter was keen on the job?

OK so on that methodology, if Pope can score against Man City then he should be playing in the Premier League? Do you really think North West counties was the highest level he could get? Regardless of what you say, he was treated badly last season and never got a run in the team. Then he did his shoulder and was given 60 minutes in the last match in a diabolical team. He deserved another contract even if only for 12 months on reduced wages. We will / are already missing him.
Brown - do you not think it was risky releasing a safe pair of hands to be replaced by a 30 year old Brazilian wildcard from non league (already looks very dodgy) and a youngster? He was told he would be getting a new contract but had the rug pulled from under him as well.
Poor treatment of 2 players who had served us very well. If Clarke gets us promotion or even top 7, then please drag this post up at the end of the season and tell me I told you so. I really don't see that happening though, do you?If no other club in the top seven tiers seems to have been prepared to give Tom a contract why should we? We are a football club, not a charity. You do not make progress by living in the past.

His sudden dislike of Flitcroft is bizarre in view of what he said in his Sentinel page when Flitcroft arrived:
”Our new director of football David Flitcroft has plenty going for him – hard working, intelligent and a brilliant motivator.
I got to see all that when he was my manager at Bury so I’m really pleased he’s going to be working at Vale Park.”

To be fair to RZ, I seem to remember this story happening.
I’m not denying it did. I was just wondering when. Was it before the EGM when two were voted off the Board?

There was some pipe fittings company that were interested in buying but they got fed up of being spanked with emails by Vale fans so they pulled out.
When was this?

I never said V2001 were saints, I was just concerned that it wasn't a good plan to destroy them in case they destroyed the club. The Smurf saga was brought about by those actions. It would have been better to let V2001 sell the club as a going concern but the fans did their best to deter any potential buyers, Pro Fit (?) for example.
V2001 were never going to sell the club. They had enough offers. Who on earth are Pro Fit?

I have seen, heard and been told enough by different people to not trust Clarke at all. But what do I know?
Yet I’ve been told by someone in an excellent position to know that he is a great man manager.

I haven’t listened to the podcast so I won’t comment on what Tom Pope has said. Does he mention that he had dragged the club’s name through the mud with his stupidity on social media? Did he mention that the club spent a fortune on legal fees supporting him during his last social media issue? Did he mention that he refused to take the advice of those legal people in his response to the case? He reckons he has the right to free speech - well so do the rest of us and I reckon that it is a shame in view of everything he did on the pitch for the club he is now behaving like a spoilt kid off it.
