  1. If it is true about Williams then he's in for a rude awakening if he wants a long career in the game. This kind of thing is always a risk, I suppose, with handing promising youngsters with big egos a big fat contract on PL academy wages. Pity but if it is true then we've done absolutely the right thing sending him back, and kudos to Liverpool for taking him back.
  2. You do realise that JCH would want paying approximately 8-10k a week. So that's another million you can add on top of that. As for Goodwin, I don't know much about him, but 6 goals and 1 assist this season hardly screams such greatness to say he'd be the answer. In any event, how do you know we weren't in for him and he wanted to stay down south, for example? Garritys got more goals than either of them so far this season and he's not even a striker! You're entitled to your opinion though, so crack on.
  3. Who are these 'great strikers' that you think we should spunk our money on with guaranteed success?
  4. This is what baffles me about footballers and their agents. If you don't want to take your agents advice, then don't take it!
  5. Where does that leave Grant? He's been underwhelming for me, so if he's ousted by a loan this window can see him moving on in the summer (think he's under contract?)
  6. There's loads we can sign on long term deals. But nearly all will be worse, some a lot worse, than what we're getting on loan currently
  7. Absolutely LOVE this! Hope to hear this being belted out on Saturday [emoji16]
  8. I have a hunch that may have been a very different outcome under Norman. "Where are they taking all of those left over pies....?"
  9. If you categorise us, in your opinion, of 'crap' now, what on earth did you think of us just 4 years ago?
  10. If it's a choice between that or just lumping it aimlessly forward in Popeball style and losing possession, 100% yes. The RS neanderthals are terrible for their 'get it forweeerd' demands when there's absolutely nothing on, then moan when we lose possession
  11. Could be anything really couldn't it. Failed medical, Charlton going for 2 strikers in the real hope of bagging just 1 and pulling the deal once Ladapo signed, Charlton telling Uche he wouldn't be first choice, us offering him a new deal yet to be announced, or his agent suddenly changing terms at the last minute. Plus many more potential scenarios likely
  12. I lost interest in the big leagues a long time ago, and don't use Twitter either! Ah well, you learn something every day.
  13. I genuinely don't follow anyone but Vale so didn't have a clue
  14. If some on here had their way we'd have at least 20. In all seriousness, Palermo apparently hold the record - 9 changes in a single season involving 7 managers. They avoided relegation by 1 point, then tried just 5 changes the next season and went down!
  15. Gore? Don't care how good who is if it's a loan. We need permanent signings only, no matter how crap they are, provided that they're ours and we're liable to pay their wages for at least 18 months [emoji6]
  16. Sometimes that's a good thing (that we're not lumbered with them)! I don't have any problem with us going after as many loans as we can, so long as they are better, or much better, than we could get permanently. Ollie and Alfie clearly fall into that category. Kofi and Josh not so much (though Josh I liked). Weir looks promising. Not a bad record for loans this season so far, especially when compared with previous seasons (who could forget Callum Whelan). So long as we do the same kind of quality consistently every window, we're likely to get better players than we could permanently, without the long term risk
  17. I've signed Williams on FM. Don't bother Vale [emoji6] [emoji16]
  18. Who do we have on loan now? Just Balmer, Devine and Weir? Or have I forgotten someone?
  19. If that's the case, must come down to us not being willing to meet their fee etc
  20. Won't be long before Rooney's sacked. Lost all but one since being appointed, and drew the other. Now, who'd have predicted that would end in tears......
