Top-scorer Devante Cole has left the club to join Luton Town, the club have confirmed.
Cole initially joined in August after the departure of Lorent Tolaj but has been linked with a number of clubs during the January transfer window.
The move was for an undisclosed fee, Port Vale say.
Cole’s brief spell saw him net eight times in 23 games. He is the sixth player to leave during January – joining Ronan Curtis, Mo Faal, James Plant, Marvin Johnson and Jesse Debrah in leaving the club.

Well, as predicted Cole has gone (deserting the sinking ship seems apt), and when I look at today’s starting line-up with again no Ruari Paton or Mitch Clark, I can only assume that they are also going and we have now given up on this season. We sell Cole and the obvious replacement, Stockley, is only on the bench, as is Hall who does get behind defences. And is Croasdale now playing full-back ??? If Orient have wingers with pace, this is handing them the game on a plate.
He needed a better team than us to get the best out of him.
Selling your top striker when rock bottom of the league doesn’t make sense, unless finances demand it or an immediate replacement is lined up. Is Cole’s sale and transfer fee to pay for the cost of Darren Moore’s sacking & settlement.
