Port Vale have confirmed that wingback Mitch Clark has left to join Fleetwood Town on loan until the end of the season.
The 26 year-old joined for his latest Valiants spell in 2023 after leaving Accrington. Joining on a permanent deal, he helped the club to promotion in 2025.
This loan move potentially ends the defender’s fourth spell at the club – with the other three spells all being loan moves. He is out of contract at the end of the season so this move may end his Vale stay with a total of 114 appearances and two goals.
At his best, Clark was a rampaging presence down the right flank but the defender’s latest stay has been disrupted by injuries.
On joining Fleetwood, Clark said: “I’m really pleased to be here at Fleetwood. The club has clear ambition to return to League One, and I’m looking forward to playing my part in helping achieve that. The facilities and setup are excellent, and I can’t wait to get out on the pitch with the lads.”

Sorry to see Clark leave in what looks like a permanent departure. At his best he was a versatile and marauding presence down the right or left flank, always giving 100% effort to the team. Perhaps his move suits both club and player, as his time with Vale has been badly disrupted with long absences through unlucky injuries. At 26 and by League 2 standards Fleetwood have signed a talented player. Thanks, and good luck to Clark with his fresh start.
Supporters appreciated his efforts.
Really enjoyed watching him, and his only let down was not getting on the pitch often enough. Thought there might be a good partnership brewing with George Hall down the right, but it wasn’t to be.
Good luck to him at Fleetwood. Hope it works out.
