Unfinished business – Smith targets success with Port Vale after signing contract
Nathan Smith says he has “unfinished business” after his shock contract extension with Port Vale was officially confirmed.
Smith was widely expected to move to a club in a higher division so his decision to stay is a huge boost for the Valiants. It means that every player offered a new contract this summer has agreed a deal.
The club has come on leaps and bounds in the last twelve months, I can see where it is going and I want to be part of that…
His two-year deal has been confirmed by the official Port Vale website and Smith commented: “I’m really happy to get the deal over the line, I’m happy to still be here and we’re ready to finish what we started last year.
“The club has come on leaps and bounds in the last twelve months, I can see where it is going and I want to be part of that.
“I’ve not been part of a successful football team yet, but I’m hoping to be part of one next year and I’m sure the club is heading in the right direction, with the signings and the people behind the steering wheel.
“I’ve got unfinished business to get to 200 , and unfinished business to get in the play-offs.”
