Port Vale Chief Executive Colin Garlick has confirmed to the Sentinel newspaper that veteran midfielder Luke Joyce has agreed a 12 month contract extension.
Joyce’s contract clause allowed him to sign an extension to his current deal which expired this summer and the midfielder has agreed a 12 month extension.
Joyce has been a key performer in the holding player role for the last two seasons.

Garlick told the Sentinel: “We are delighted to have Luke sorted out. Had he not had the option I am absolutely sure we would have been making him an offer.

“I am really pleased. I think having someone with his experience and ability in that side is good for us going forward. If we can start and kick off then we are going to have the nucleus of the squad we have kept together.”
