Injuries continue to hamper Micky Adams’ team selections after key players John McCombe and Doug Loft both missing training ahead of Tuesday’s game against Shrewsbury. Rob Taylor and Gareth Owen are both ruled out through injury and Joe Davis suspended so McCombe and Loft’s absence could mean Vale naming a scratch back-four.
Rob Taylor is an injury doubt for the Tuesday night game against Hereford Utd as Vale continue to struggle for numbers in defence. Taylor is doubtful and if he doesn’t make it, Adam Yates may be drafted back to start at right-back while Doug Loft switches to left-back.
