The Micky Adams army. A force to be reckoned.

Performances promising, promotion beckoned.

An unbeatable defence and deadly attack

For once a season with no threat of the sack.

 

Christmas came early and awards were won

Nothing could halt the Vale from League One.

Then danced the Blades who cooled our fires.

Lusting after Adams with his boyhood desires

 

Away he went. In Micky we did trust.

Christmas was over. Hope turned to dust.

 

In swaggered big Jim, full and science and belief

His demand for change was no light relief.

Carpet football 4-3-3. A formation favoured.

Will it be a success or will it be laboured?

Things started badly and gradually got worse.

Arguments rumbled, and supporters cursed.

 

In the background the board dithered over Mo.

Made up stories and excuses, no depth too low.

Millions to invest and a possible EGM

Bratty said 2-3 Weeks, oh no not this again!

 

Finally big Jim was given the heave-ho.

A month of busgate and baggage in tow.

A collective sigh breathed out across the city

Finally we can concentrate on a football victory.

 

Not all is clear though truth be told.

There’s still the issue of Black & Gold.

Mo’s in the wings waiting for his chance.

If only Bratt would turn and honour a glance.

 

To the board, all it will take is a collective "yes".

Accept Mo's offer, and Vale will be a viable business.

This isn’t a game; that’s for the super XI to play

This is Vale’s future, our team. What do you say?
