Something i have heard.

Ok, so its second hand but maybe someone will clarify this.

 

The Volounteers group have worked hard to get their own sponsorships for the forthcoming season.

They then negotiate a 1000 pounds deal for this season with a company (Cant remember the name, maybe something like Cook Travel) with a view of a second season option of renewing at the same price.

All funds for this are towards the Sproson Fund.

 

Perry Deakin found out and offered the same company a deal worth 1500 pounds for the 2 years. They took the offer.

 

Now im under no illusion that we need money but to **** on your own people like that???!!!

The only thing I would would be be sceptical of here is whether or not Deakin actually plans to pay the £1,500.

The Port Vale Volunteers' Group would like to reassure supporters that this rumour has absolutely nothing to do with us. We raise our money through fund-raising events, not through sponsorship.

 

As a Group we are completely independent of the club and neither Mr Deakin, Mr Lodey nor any of the club's directors has any influence or control over our finances.

 

Our accounts are audited annually and published on the club's official site and in the final programme of each season.
