Vale Vaults - it's nearly time...

Hello,

 

I always post these and worry that it sounds like I am blowing my own trumpet, but I hope you don't see it that way - all I am doing is trying to make as many people as possible aware of what is the first FREE Vale exhibition I have been aware of for ages (if ever...).

 

Vale Vaults is this coming weekend: 10am to 6pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday. Barewall Gallery, Burslem.

 

Anyhow, I have been really busy this weekend putting the final touches to everything. We have a load of stuff now - ranging from players (shirts and boots), to fan memorabilia (vintage rattle, bell, scrapbooks) to press clippings of famous matches, photos, booklets, letters and all sorts... As a rough guess I would say there is getting on for around 200 items on display - of which about 50 will be framed. Thank you to everyone who has loaned an item to me.

 

I've deliberately kept "mum" about some of the items as I don't want to detail every single item on display. Hopefully, there will be something for everyone and I would hope everyone visiting will discover at least one item they haven't seen before.

 

Here are a few further notes:

 

1. We may be very busy on Saturday so if you want to spend a little more time looking at everything it may be better coming along on Sunday when we will be quieter.

 

2. Exiled and cannot make it? We will be producing galleries and video on OVF so you can get a flavour of what the event was like.

 

3. I am putting this event on for free but if you do like it (and hopefully you will) there should be a couple of collection boxes for my chosen charities which are the Donna Louise Trust and the Douglas MacMillan. Any donations to those will be very welcome.

 

I will be around on both days so please come over and say "hello" if you do make it to the exhibition.

p.s. As there is only one Vale fan editing onevalefan, there won't be as many articles on this site this week as I concentrate on the exhibition.
