Just a bit of money saving info.

 

I recently went on to money saving expert .com web site & it gives some advice on buying train tickets.

 

If you are planing a journey by train before you go on thetrainline dot com or roll up at the ticket office, consider splitting your journey or buying two singles instead of a return.

 

An example is I travelled one way from Stoke to Aberystwyth changing at Wolverhampton.If I bought a ticket from trainline that incorporated the change it would have cost me £53 !!

 

Instead , I bought a ticket from stoke to wolves and then a ticket from wolves to Aberystwyth price £22 total.

 

The laughable bit is I was on the same trains and bought them from trainline dot com

Virgin Trains have very good early offers. You can buy up to 12 weeks before you travel and get cheapo rates from Stoke to London with them. You can also go cheaply with London Midland but it takes all day and goes via Glasgow!

Managed to get stoke to London & back to Chester, which is where I'm stopping over for the night for £37 on leyton orient match day.
