Question: How many injury prone players does it take to make a football squad? Answer: Don't know, ask Port Vale !!
-
What's this 'Vale thing' of always wanting to bring former players and Managers back. FFS there's a big pool out there, go and fish in it 😒

BTW I don't want signings for signings sake I want them to Improve the team with better quality than what we have. If we can't afford to do that then simply tell us. Tell us the Plan B and implement it.

Are Reading paying their players now? Matty Smith if not anyone?

Except the focal point of the post was Reading's Sam Smith (a 1 in 3 striker at Cambridge 2021-23) is worth a cheeky bid as Reading are cash strapped and very close to being unable to pay their players which would give Smith the opportunity to walk. So, read it again mate.

Just watched Eastleigh and their striker McCallum scores both goals and scores for fun but is probably way out of our price league. However how about a cheeky bid for Reading striker Smith who would play off Uche in a Tony Naylor fashion. More importantly with the Royals in financial distress he is probably within our price range.

A quality striker is out of our budget and too risky (all eggs in one basket) get experienced management into the club on a short term basis to motivate existing players to get mean and ugly ... frighten them into scoring. Bring in a Manager that loved motivating players ... Neil Warnock

Remember Mel Charles debut. A Friday night game at Crewe and driving along the longest convoy of Vale fans I have ever seen (A500 not built in those days). He was <ovf censored>, we lost, and we realised he wasn't his brother, the legendary John Charles!

Got to say his comments on the Stevenage Manager were beautiful.
