I knew someone on here would start asking why we haven't signed Madden or that we should be in for Clarke-Harris. Madden has just been released by a club thats been promoted and has the pick of clubs. We're on a downward curve at the moment, Chesterfield are on an upward one. Plus they are inevitably going to be able to pay more than us, and that won't change until we pay off some of the 17 odd players we still have under contract. Clarke-Harris is capable of playing in the Championship at best and top end League One at worst. Why the hell he'd want to sign for a club relegated to League Two God only knows. I know people will say its a rumour but frequently in the past, people have absolutely believed those rumours to be true - and when they don't materialise (because 99% of the time they're being made up by someone bored and wanting to look like they're ITK), its used as a stick to beat the club with. That does more damage and people get annoyed because the club didn't sign that person even though we were never in for them in the first place. We're getting nowhere near Bannan, Clarke-Harris or any other top end League One player at all. The sooner we all understand that the better, rather than bashing the club because we didn't sign Messi because @transferrumerzboy or some twit like that posted it.

Does this bloke actually know anything about Vale? His Twitter says he's a Spurs fan and his "articles" include "Why Garrity could be used as a striker.." 🙄

Just think he's what Uche should be - not prolific, but a big physical presence that chips in with the odd goal. Get someone with a bit of pace next to him and it could work.

John Bostock and Omar Bogle should be players we should at least look at.

I think a lot of our budget is already taken up by the existing squad, and even if some leave its clear we've been tightening our belts since promotion. Granted there will be more room in the budget if the likes of Ojo, Garrity and Chislett leave, but any real good League One level players are going to want to stay in League One, unless we chuck silly money at them. Anyone thinking we're in the race for the like of Bannan or Clarke-Harris needs a summer off!

Can we not rewrite history over Benning? He was poor in the first half of the promotion season to the extent he didn't start between October and February then came back in at Bradford when we went on a good run. He was awful in the three games we lost that nearly cost us promotion and was dropped for the Exeter game until Hussey got injured. He was far too lightweight for League One and we rightly showed him the door. The issue was replacing him with someone better, which we didn't, and now it looks like he was the answer all along. Just because Conor Grant has been crap doesn't make Benning good.

Are you actually Bill Bratt? If so why are you having a go at the current owner when, as a previous owner, you're in a position to offer constructive advice to her? If you're not, why are you continually making posts that just seem like they're baiting other fans to give you an angry response?

Come on, you can't think this guy is a professional. I heard his show on Radio Stoke years ago, and it was dreadful. He also doesn't really know anything about the cub which is quite obvious "a historic day in Port Vale" like its an actual place. Is it too much to ask this was done properly? I have a lot of respect for Carol but I really get exasperated that she will say she's not doing something then does it anyway within a few days.

But if she's taking a back seat, take a back seat, don't do an interview if some wild haired loon comes up to you and asks you to do an interview about your 5 year anniversary of running the club. At the very least she could have done something with the club, Mike Baggaley or Bowers before they went away This just looks awful.

For a 5 year anniversary this looks incredibly tinpot. An interview with a failed DJ, sat in a hotel room on a grainy camera. Plus I thought Carol was taking a back seat from the spotlight, yet here she is doing an interview!!!

I've got no problem with you per se, but its the constant barracking of Nathan Smith, the belief in every rumour, however unlikely it might be, and this odd belief that passion will get us into the Championship that frustrates me. Just try and chill and lay off Nathan Smith, it's been going on longer than a Leonard Cohen song.

And a budget about 10 times the size of ours and crowds 5 times bigger than ours. Not everything is about passion, you need the ability to go with it. Sadly our team has very little of either

I don't think Ojo wants to be here. I'd be massively surprised if he wasn't gone by the second week in July.

If we are keeping the dark blue kit as a third kit I would hope that'd mean we go back to having gold/yellow as our "proper" away kit.

I saw him play for Crewe a couple of years ago. He was woeful. Not sure how he ended up at Wrexham.

Not if you're a physio and want to be kept in work - he's ideal for that.
