  1. The last two years must have been interesting for you
  2. But the issue isn't about relegation or survival. It's about Flitcrofts protracted failure in improving what touches a football. If we're are to survive it'll be despite him, not because of him. I'll be there on Saturday and every home game between now and the end of the season, cheering, not booing, hoping that we can get the points that'll guide us to safely, even if the performance is crap. Avoiding relegation won't exonerate DF's record of failure or influence whether I trust him with my season ticket money.
  3. I was convinced that you were already a life long S T holder
  4. Simple. If we're wining Flickers, if we're losing, the manager.
  5. I've always renewed, irrespective of what league we're in, so relegation has little to do with it. For me it's not about not backing or supporting the Vale, but more a case of handing over a large amount of money in financially tough times, to be wasted in such a way that has resulted in creating a weaker squad for two consecutive years, while seeing no rational explanation for it, or any action of accountability. While 14th place wouldn't be settling the world alight, most would see it as steady progress, coupled with a degree of stability, however the DoF has fallen short yet again and his decisions and performance is the sole reason for our situation. So I agree, not many people would give a stuff about Flitcroft if we were 14th, because most would recognise that as being not great, but acceptable Still, I guess the phrase is "We go again" eh!? Even though its with blinkered optimism. One final point, is that not a single one of us take any satisfaction in feeling the need to express anything negative about our club, because we all love the Vale
  6. Yes mate, it hurts, but seems to be what may be the current thinking of a few.
  7. For the first time in umpteen seasons, sadly I'm seriously considering NOT renewing mine and the wife's season tickets. Not because of the fact that we may be in L2 yet again, but because I find it totally demoralising we're parting with our hard earned brass, so that a stark failure of a DoF can squander it yet again, in exactly the same fashion that his last two years track record has demonstrated, I know this isn't positively supporting the club and harms the club, but really I,like many others, can't afford to waste money for the reward of feeling utterly depressed and miserable, after watching defeat after defeat The hype, national coverage and massive over positivity which was fanfared post promotion, had me and many others hooked, as we were sold a ridiculous notion that Port Vale were on an upward trajectory, backed by the prospect of a professional, business set up and the pledge of making new memories . Well that aged well, didn't it? We now certainly have new memories, but not ones that we'll treasure. So I guess there's a part of me that feels a little embarrassed at been taken for a fool for buying in to all that, but I'm also angry at the clubs failure to address the situation that has been allowed to fester while seemingly, being in total denial of it, as demonstrated as an example, by that bizarre open letter, which was always going to back fire. Anyway, that's it.
  8. I still think we'd concede playing with a back ten.
  9. Of course, memory failed me for that one. Thanks for the correction.
  10. Wayne Steggles, all of a sudden becomes world class.
  11. Exactly this. I can only speak for myself, but, when we were beating Everton, Man City, Sjoke, to name but a few, I couldn’t give a flying flamingo about the state of the bogs, or anything else,, other than what we were being treated to on the pitch. Different times, of course, but it all started with Kevin Finneys late winner against Macc, followed by the £3k that Rudgie paid Rhyl, for Mr.Andrew Jones. One day, hopefully when it's not too late, someone with a bit of influence at the club, will get out of bed one morning and say ''Oh yeah, I can see now what will get the fans in to the ground" I can tell them for free, that it isn't to prioritise 3rd party infrastructure, in cart before the horse fashion.
  12. Decent post until you mentioned Smurf.
  13. Possibly ,the most succinct post ever.
  14. I judge people as I find them too, but I judge employees on performance and his has fallen massively short, as displayed by the main KPI, namely, the league table, which is determined by the product on the field.
  15. Bottom line is, Flitcroft has assembled this abysmal squad and must take sole responsibility. As for the plaudits that he's got for attracting DM, we wouldn't have needed him if Flittcroft hadn't decimated and weakened the squad. All that hard work and progress is now warm, yellow and running down the wall in the form of a long thin stream.
  16. Didn't know we are after diamonds, so it'd be interesting to know where there is one.
  17. Where's Smurf when we need him? Hang on, what's Bill Bratt doing? A real fan he was
  18. Absolutely and don't forget Weir can belt them as well. Only concern is if we can defend midfield as well as attack from it.
  19. After all the rumours and speculation, it's brilliant to see this move materialise. Not too long ago, those rumours and speculation served only to sell disappointment, but how things have changed. In fairness to the lad, he must have his head screwed on, not for it to be turned by some of the "bigger" clubs he was linked with, so good youth for chosing the Vale. I hope our fans allow him the time to adapt and not expect him to pick up where Alfie and Blaster left off, because despite the hype, he's still only 19 with a lot to learn, though of course, he's clearly very talented and because of what we saw in those two, expectation will and should be there. Welcome Dan, you've come to our club and we'll look after you, if you play to your ability, the fans will love you to bits and when the time comes for you to return to Old Trafford, you'll do so a better player, better person and with the fondest memories of the Vale and SVA.
  20. Don't know, but apparently, he's on fire at the moment
  21. Proven goal scorers, this and that, then how many toys were launched out of how many prams when we didn't sign them? Same with Nicky Maynard. BTW, irreverent now, but apparently,Alfie had an impressive debut for Plymouth and on another note, I see that JA is no longer Hartlepool manager, having been replaced by Kevin Phillips.
