Some deluded posts on here this morning. Vale are league two and Bannan won't even think of coming here... Money talks he would probably join another league one club.

Maybe asking Gibbons back on a 12 year deal and Stone is the realistic possibity.

Uche is a carthorse... Get rid.. But he won't... Would have been better keeping Wilson!!

Stone ended up 3rd choice at midtable Notts County. Think that tells me all I need to know.

We don't have a bad set of players for L2. I think we can challenge for promotion provided three things. 1. Other clubs don't sign our best players. 2. The squad is rebalanced so that players can play in their best positions. 3. Moore installs a disciplined model of playing that makes the team resilient and consistently effective in attack and defence.

On the last one, rebalancing the squad at 2. comes first.

We really do Warren. An awful set with a weak underbelly.

Your point 1. We have 2 maybe 3 " best players " . They need to stay and be supplemented by players of similar ability.

I think it's from short-sighted Vale fans that just remember his assist + goal in the playoff semi and final.

If we signed someone else with the exact same stats there would up uproar on here.

Love an ex player on here mate.

    Gibbo, Harratt etc.

Not seen anyone mentioning getting Small back yet after he was a regular at Charlton.

  4. I thought the whole evening was beneficial with respectful behaviour from everyone. No name calling or back biting.

The proof of the pudding will be come August.

I really hope ,and realise due to the Aug transfer window that it's difficult,  that we have most of our team in place come opening day. Moore said this was his hope too.

We all know the consequences of a 23.50 pm panic signing don't we !

For the first time ever, I'am actually going to disagree with you.

Artists play multiple nights at arenas & stadiums etc.

Last year, Kings of Leon played 2 consecutive nights at Wrexham's football ground at the end of May.

No reason why we can not do at least 2 nights of concerts, whoever it is, next year.

I'm under the impression that Stoke City are looking to bring back concerts to the BET365 in the next year or two also.

I was more knocking the idea of at the end of May which was what guy suggested. But you're right with planning ( not 3 weeks) I'm sure it's doable.

  6. We can all be guilty of over reaction and knee jerk statements. It's hurt us all this collapse from October onwards.

However I'm really struggling to comprehend that some of these players will be ok in League 2.

They are mentally weak, indeed physically weak. No backbone or guts.

It's highly likely due to the ludicrous contracts that we are lumbered with some. There has got to be a lot of wriggle room for Moore otherwise unless we get 6 or 7 new starters next season we could be in for a bumpy ride.

The retained list is on the website. Not unexpected. At L2 level this is a competitive squad as we have seen when playing L2 teams last season. Good idea to play players in their best positions - such as Sang. But with young players coming through that is pretty much a full squad. So my question is what trading is likely to occur as we all know where the weaknesses are even if the intrinsic squad is not too bad.

I don't class a team where the majority of the fanbase are resigned to defeat as soon as we go 1-0 down as competitive Warren.

Quite the opposite, weak underbelly and gutless are more apt.

If a core of 5 of these losers are in our starting X1 next season we have real issues. Everyone knows who the exceptions are.

Picked up an injury during training otherwise would have played from what Moore tonld Baggers in The Valiant at the weekend. Ticks all our boxes then.

Ahh cheers . Thought it odd.

How many of ours get injured in training or during the warm up. Mental .

Hope Crawley get lost. One of the worst away days I can ever imagine. At least at MK Dons the ground is decent when you get there.

Only thing I'd say about Crawley is I've been 3 times. 3 wins.

Mk would be up there again next season I'd prefer them to go up.

If Crewe stay down and Solihull come up it is a great league in terms of local away games, shame Burton somehow stayed up or that would have added another in the mix.

That said, if we have a promotion/play off campaign its enjoyable, if we dont its not. I can't say I have enjoyed the last 18 months in a higher league so wont be a high bar to set to enjoy this more.

Personally I never enjoy Crewe or Walsall. Horrible games.

Solihull be good. Depending on ticket allocation. Looks as though it could be about 1400.

  11. So currently we have.

    Cheltenham, Fleetwood, Vale, Carlisle.

Barrow, Bradford, Wimbledon, Walsall, Gillingham, Harrogate, Notts County, Morecambe, Tranmere, Accrington ,Newport, Swindon, Salford,Grimsby, Colchester and Chesterfield.

3 of Mk Dons,Doncaster, Crewe or Crawley.

    1 of Solihull or Bromley.

It's a grim list. Good games with atmosphere pretty thin on the ground.

Notts County and Chesterfield be decent away games for Vale support.

    Big big summer coming up.

Fund a promotion push? In the 4th division? We managed that when the club was in admin under Adams!

Not going for promotion in the 4th division is financial suicide anyway. We can’t afford not to. Years in the 4th division seriously harmed the club last time.

Be ok Bromley will bring 86 with them if they go up. That's a couple of grand in the kitty.

Remember we were going for Quality not Quantity , whatever happened to that ?. Combine Uche and Loftys wages and we might get a decent, goalscoring striker.

    That was allegedly our mantra.

Instead we've basically had average to poor squad fillers who end up playing 25 plus games. Bit us on the backside.
