I haven't seen anything about this, but a win tonight would surely help to cover the compensation, so we can still go for a striker next month?  Another incentive for us to win this game and get through to round three? I think Debrah has been a good addition overall after a rocky start.  Well done to the recruitment team.

Let this sink in. A win tonight pays Lofts wages for 12 weeks.

I was making the point that people went to that one despite AC being the manager, and the cost of a ticket plus beers must have been much more than the £15 they'd be paying tonight.

    Sorry misunderstood.

I get what you mean but I can only speak personally. I've gone since my dad took me as a toddler. So nigh on 50 years. I go for the social aspect over the football. It's in my blood we are used to being mediocre and are what we are. Otherwise I could easily go to Man City. I go to meet my lifelong Vale fans. Talk rubbish, have a few pints.

I went to the away game at Stevenage. The draw is uninspiring it'll be freezing cold a mad rush from work. I've no appetite for it especially after a crazy busy weekend I've just had .

That might sound puddled after going to the away match but you can almost script how it will be. Let's just say a 4-3 cup humdinger is unlikely !

I wouldn't castigate any stay away fan tonight although I'm bound to say that.

Agree with the point you're making, but whoever added that Stevenage FA Cup away following up wants get back to Primary School level maths lessons. Have you seen the pitch side video on you tube. Not a chance there was over 500 there. 250 at most.

I was there and when Stevenage announced 500 odd I was stunned. Think only 2 coaches. 1 official and 1 Dicko went.

I'd agree with 250 tops as a figure.

  4. There's a distinct possibility that when England inevitably fall short in the summer and Southgate resigns that Potter will be in the running.

You don't go from Chelsea to Stoke. To be fair Lard fans are no different to any other set with delusion of grandeur.

First time I've not seen their fans predict Benitez.

I just get really frustrated at what I'm seeing on social media and in the stands. He's the new scapegoat and Vale fans always have to have one!

What chances have we created for him? How many balls have our midfield played through for him to have a 1 on 1? How many times has a wide player picked him out in the box? How many times has someone set him up to have a shot on goal?

He's playing off scraps. Same as Uche.

I agree to some extent however he to my mind has missed two absolute sitters. Stevenage away league where the keeper was way out of position. Almost an open goal. And Burton with 10 men he had a golden opportunity to win it late on and fired it straight at the keepers legs.

Last week he also had a snap header at Stevenage where either side of the keeper he scores. Instead it went straight in his midriff.

Whilst he hasn't scored my main bugbear is he looks lazy. Might just be his style . Wilson was often accused of being lazy too. Loft comes across disinterested to me.

Wonder what effect Heckingbottom getting the boot and Wilder coming in will have on the Arblaster situation come January...

Only possibility I could see is a struggling Championship club.

    Like Huddersfield, Stoke or Rotherham.

Don't see being involved at Sheff Utd this season will benefit him whatsoever.

Except the focal point of the post was Reading's Sam Smith (a 1 in 3 striker at Cambridge 2021-23) is worth a cheeky bid as Reading are cash strapped and very close to being unable to pay their players which would give Smith the opportunity to walk.

    So, read it again mate.

I have mate. And your first paragraph intimates he scores for fun but is probably way out of our price league.

Which suggests to me were he not he'd be one you'd like ?

It would've helped if so early in the season we'd had cover for injuries and also we hadn't gambled on so many injury plagued players, we arnt the only club that gets injuries.

Sent from my SM-A217F using onevalefan mobile app

2 year deal for sicknote Jones and 6 month deal for sicknote Wilson.

Coupled with a gamble on Grant.

    Wasn't great was it.

Pointless venture. Who wants a tour around a league 2 club? Get the product sorted on the pitch. Once that is acceptable start messing with other areas. I mentioned this at the start of the season where I was criticising the window and our unbalanced squad and completely ignorance in bringing a striker in. The club seem more focussed on looking good in the papers  and spending money elsewhere than on the squad. It’s all well investing off the pitch but if the product is crap, it’s pointless. Only 5k vale fans last night for a game against Derby - proof in the pudding.

The quote is fur coat no knickers.

If the product on the field is tripe I personally couldn't give a hoot about a rollover hotdog or investment in an old folks dancing and bingo club.

That sounds nasty I know. But I don't buy into the fanzone, kids with painted faces etc etc. I'm only interested in a decent team.

The attendance was a disgrace last night purely because the on field offering is rubbish.

He’s probably got the next 3 games.  That’s it.

We'll win at Stevenage knowing Vale and everything will be rosy.

For me he's got to go now. The League is the bread and butter. New manager in before Exeter away please.

Wouldn't it be marvellous if Matt Taylors first game in charge was Exeter away.

But we're so puddled we end up giving it Schofield or Dunn.

Has to be relieved of his duties immediately.
