I agree and as you say I also expected a tad better, particularly organization/defending.

Eg, the two goals vs Oxford were schoolboy errors, especially the second, and why from set pieces there  is not one or two Vale defenders around the D to defend any ball that's headed/cleared out is beyond me, all Vale's defenders seem to be clustered around the 6-yard box.

Cheltenham's equalizer in 1st half injury (a tad unfair as it was Moore's 1st game in charge) time and the mis-hit shot from the edge of the D that went straight to a Shrewsbury defender for their 2nd goal come immediately to mind, both second balls would/should have been cleared by Vale players with better organization.

Vale were poor at defending set pieces under Crosby, certainly no better under Moore.

Don't know who made the point on here but it was valid and correct . Given our horrific defending of corners and too many cooks. Just leave 2 up and they'll have to leave 3 back.

Instead there's about 20 players in the penalty box.

    Hi Darren

No Worries,Brian has his opinions and I have mine, other fans have theirs.

We are all so angry and fed up with the Current Situation.

I am no longer going to try and let it bother me.

After all,  we just want to get some pleasure from supporting our team.

I just wish the Owner would publicly let the Fans know what her Intentions are.

Matt Hancock gave an interview fairly recently saying that the communication between the Club and the Fans needs to be better, yet we have just had her open letter about Supporting Flitcroft, who publicly stated Relegation is not in his Vocabulary.

    Answer that one Carol !

Mate we're all frustrated. I already had a gig to go to last Saturday. Do I go the Oxford game and dash to Manchester at 5.00pm or go to Manchester early was the decision. I took the latter. Enjoyed my day and didn't miss it one bit. I'm sad to say I have actually thrown the towel in. Burton is my last game this season purely for a day with the lads on a minibus. I've put my season ticket up for grabs but no takers yet.

Feel really sad I feel like this. It's not the losing or the Harrogate, Crawley games next season.

It's because promotion and all that hard work has been thrown away. Purely down in my opinion to taking our eye off the ball on the pitch. So avoidable. Along with the pathetic lack of strikers for 2 seasons running.

I'm so disconnected with this team. Garrity apart. Like the passion of Ripley but maybe that has detracted from his game at times. So another reset is fine by me.

Obvious who has to go. Big summer for the club.

I'll be back in August renewed optimism, but when life long fans who have seen worse seasons than this, in nearly 50 years of going are throwing the towel in does it mean I'm not a proper fan anymore or just ground down to the point where it's actually affecting my weekend.

I have not said keep Crosby

I need to go to Specsavers ?

You need to learn some manners and learn some Mathematics as well, 3 wins out of 31 is 9 wins worse than Crosby’s Record.

My Head isn’t in the Sand, the Whole Horrendous Current Situation at Club is Down to One Person, the Owner.

    She Hires and Fires !

To give a Failed Manager a 5 and 1/2 Year Contract following a 3 Hour Zoom Call with him, is just beyond belief.

I'm not taking sides between you and Brian mate.

But failed manager is a touch harsh.

He's actually been decent until his Huddersfield spell. Let's remember too that Huddersfield were amongst the relegation favourites anyway and were expected to struggle. Their new manager done nothing yet and they probably will go down.

I get the argument about Sheff Wednesday ought to of gone up but that applies to many clubs. He actually achieved it.

His hands are tied here with one of the worst ever assembled squads in relevance to the division we're in.

The owner(s) is/are wholly to blame.

    For

    A) Appointing Crosby in the first place.

    B) Dawdling out of blind loyalty then sacking Crosby after the window had closed firmly to.

Why don’t you look at Facts, Moore is the First Manager in Port Vale’s History to not win in their First Eight Matches and most probably that figure will increase.

You say Crosby won 3 out of 22 games

Well Moore’s Current Record at 2 clubs is 3 wins out of 31 games.

    I can see both sides.

I honestly think Moore had no chance. To decide to sack Crosby AFTER the window closed was a pure dereliction of duty by Carol or whoever.

However 2 points from 24 is quite appalling. 6 points instead of 2 and we'd actually have an outside chance. Nothing has improved and other than Orient we are conceding 2 or more each game.

However for me the dawdling and dallying by the owners has caused this and the obvious recruitment issues.

My opinion is that Moore will walk. Just a hunch.

He's done nothing to endear me to him but I'm prepared to hold judgement until August. If he hasn't left.

As 3 of our last 4 games are at home chances are we will be relegated in one of those. I am going for Wycombe on the Tuesday night.

Well we're unlikely to win again. 4 of next 5 are away. So possibly 1 point from next 15 at best.

I'll plump for Peterborough. 137 Vale there for a 5-0 thumping. A 5th game in a row without scoring against Peterborough. But that's OK, they've a bigger budget.

Whilst they are not his players why did it take him 70 minutes to see Jonesy was having a mare.

How bad was Jones ? Didn't go as went out and enjoyed myself instead.

I'm really biased as I've long been an advocate that he's utterly garbage. Weirdly overrated on here.

My lad said he never wants to see him in a Vale shirt again and he's usually quite reserved. So I assumed that he must of been horrific.

The feel good factor has well and truly gone

    6 cup wins

    8 league wins

    Thank you Carol and Fraudcroft

    Trust the process

I went to Wimbledon v Bradford in October, to get the ground in when we were called off for international break.

Might as well of waited !

Not defending Flitcroft but if they do get rid of him who ever comes in will have to work under the same financial restrictions and for that you have to blame Carol  she’s done nothing while we nose dived down the league

    Shouldn't be anyone coming in.

The fact that our season is essentially done with so many games left is a disgrace. People at the club need to be accountable, namely Flitcroft and the owner for her continued support of him. This squad will struggle in L2 and no way Ripley or Garrity will stay if we go down. We have no forwards yet in the last couple of weeks free agents such as forwards Gayle, Wickham, Tulloch, Hiwula have all been available. And free agent players like Liam Moore and Lee Evan’s could have strengthened us for no fee until the end of the season. Football is a results business and DF should be judged on that. He said himself that what’s on the pitch is down to him. Everything else is irrelevant. He needs to go. It’s DF or the fans. And it looks like Carol has picked her side. I suspect both may go in the not too distant future. And I can’t see Moore fancying L2 either. 5.5 year deal or not.

Given there's 7 or 8 weeks maybe left of the season. Even if one of the Out of contract strikers wanted a grand a week extra than we offered . 8 grand extra wages wouldn't of been a huge gamble.

A bigger gamble was doing nothing.

The only thing I’d question is keeping Ripley. Really good goalie yes….but a desire to want to get too involved in games ‘complicates’ things. Plus keep Debrah, seems one of the few who gives a sh!t???

Might give a sh!t but he's shocking. Ditch.

  11. I enjoyed the RS show on Thursday with Leggy, Yates and Sproey.

However I'm not getting why Sproey was so bullish about League 2 calling us a big hitter and top 3.

Based on what ? It's going to need a gargantuan turnaround.

Off top of my head you'll have a couple of the relegation teams. Then possibly MK Dons, Bradford, Notts County, Tranmere,Gillingham etc. All thinking they have a chance.

We're only playing a 44 game season too after Walsall do their usual double over us.

Notts County are 15th and they have Langstaff and Mcgoldrick up front  !

Really don't agree at all with Sproey.

Not convinced about Moore yet - yes he has a tough act to get a tune out of this bunch but seems even less organised than under Crosby.
Needs a good start next season or 5 1/2 years is really going to drag

Why he was given that long a contract is beyond me

He's coming across as beaten and dispirited as I feel.

1 point from 18 with only 1 arguably really hard fixture is appalling.

4 of the opposition were in and around us.

Genuinely can’t believe anyone keeps anyone from this squad except garrity and Smith. Can’t wait see the back of the rest of them.

Smith arguably only stays cause he has credit in the bank. He’s had an absolutely horrific season.

He's arguably cost us any chance v Lincoln and today . Although I'd admit we still have to clear the corner after his near disastrous balls up.

Sorry no sentiment in football. Thanks and bye.

Cambridge bring in Garry Monk. Wonder if they will get a new manager bounce

If they had any modicum of a bounce and just won 2 of the next 5. Which I'd call a reasonable bounce.

We'd have to win 4 out of 5 to be level with them. Worrying.

Unfortunately at Sheffield he could buy anyone he wanted, don’t think we are in the same bracket. We need a Rudgie to unearth diamonds for free or russle up some finance.

Exactly mate for Lee Gregory see Loft. For Bailey Dipepa see Michael Smith.

Vale and Sheffield Wednesday are so polar opposite.

Wednesday had to get promoted. Moore facilitated that however he had the players at his disposal and arguably the best player in League one Bannan.

Coming to Vale is a huge culture change in size of clubs. But that doesn't mean we accept this current garbage.

I simply don't agree. They are a better side than Lincoln last weekend. You can see this not from what PV are doing, but the pace they can play the ball round at with accuracy.

You're basing it on one game.

Lincoln are 10th on 51 points. Fleetwood 23rd on 28 points yet Fleetwood are better ?

I felt a sense of greater jeopardy tonight. Fleetwood are a good side. I don't know why they are second bottom.

    Warren they aren't.

The league table tells you how good they are.

The Port vale benevolent society made them look good.

Honestly, if I was Carol I would be in front of the players and lay on the line exactly what relegation would mean for her and our club.

Would it work, would they give a hoot?

I don't know but I doubt I'd be able to contain my frustration at the state of things currently.

Unfortunately, it seems she's more likely to thank them profusely for coming to play for us.

I wonder if her emotional demeanour on Saturday was triggered by the shouts from the terraces at full-time. Heaven knows where her head is at right now.

    I don't agree there Smithie.

Any players worth their salt should know the implications of relegation.

Rallying the players is down to Moore. No interference.

I was reading in the Lardinel that Walters has done that at Stoke. Surely it's Schumacher job not some ex player.

Leave the man management to Moore in my opinion.
