  1. I'm trying not to be a killjoy but rather I'm preparing myself for the inevitable.

We have won 2 in our last 17 league games. Suddenly people expect us to win 4 homes in a row when we have one of the worst home records in the division.

The hope kills you. Can't wait for it to be all over .

Cheltenham and Burton are in absolutely honking form.

In reality so are we. The 2 wins to me were more of a reflection on our opponents.

    We've only won 2 in 17 ourselves.

Having lost today next Saturday becomes a must not lose.  After that Cheltenham play Tuesday whilst we play Wednesday. We’ll be level on games with Burton and Cheltenham will still have a game in hand.

Tuesday is Cheltenham v Carlisle and Wednesday Posh v vale

We've got to win at Wigan or could be 4 behind with 4 to play.

Promotion form 12 points from 6 games, 3 home wins and 1 win away, gives us 51 points.

It's the hope that kills you.

This time next Wednesday it will be a lot clearer after Cheltenham beat Carlisle and we get our annual thrashing at Peterborough.

Hopefully we can recruit some decent goal scorers for next season cos without good centre forwards in your squad your f#####

    All round recruitment mate.

Notts County have Mcgoldrick and Langstaff and look how poorly they are doing.

    Need some proper defenders too.

face it. this team is awful and would struggle in league 2. absolutely depressing to think most of these players are contracted next season. i for one wont be watching them.

    Think positively mate.

Probably be at home first game.

Nice 3-0 win against Bromley. E-i-e-i-e-i-o

  7. This tiredness malarkey is making me unnecessarily angry 😠

We strolled to a win on Friday against a team who simply weren't at the races.

It's not like we expended all our energy in a 4-3 nail biter.

A really poor excuse if Moore has said that.

We even had the luxury of subbing a sub on Friday to save him for today. An easier win we couldn't of hoped for.

Steve, if the players were tired from Friday does that mean that we’re now going to target the winnable games in our last six remaining games and look at damage limitation in the Peterborough and Bolton games. It’s a risky strategy, I’d rather go more defensive in those two games.

If the players are tired from Friday then they are in the wrong profession !

Connor Grant, Gavin Massey, Ryan Loft, James Wilson, Uche, Jason Lowe, all the current loan players, Mitch Clarke, Dan Jones, Yak and Tom Sang fcked as far off as is humanly possible, regardless of division.

Start again with what's left, Ripley Smith Debbie, ojo, Garrity, Chissy and Dipepa.

Agree bar Debs. Just don't rate him myself. Clumsy player.

Dm said in his presser that they might still have been tired from Friday. Really?! The mantra at the start of the season was to be fitter and stronger. Poor.

Didn't Northampton play on Good Friday then !

    That's poor from Moore.

Usually they'll say the games can't come quickly enough when you're on a winning streak.

  11. Away games are not the place for the likes of Dipepa, Shorrock etc.

    A step too far.

He's doing fine but to be putting our hopes on a 17 year old again points to recruitment.

Wigan, Exeter, Wycombe, Cambridge. They’re the games. We sort of need 8-10 points from them.

Burton have Oxford, Stevenage, Cheltenham, Reading, Fleetwood. They’re absolutely dog at the minute.

Cheltenham have a horrendous run in: Orient away, Carlisle, Gas, Burton, Lincoln, Posh, Stevenage.

Or Lincoln and Posh rest players as confirmed in play offs and Stevenage not bothered as can't make the play offs by game 46

  13. Just feel the fact Cheltenham have a game in hand plus Carlisle and Burton to play makes the great escape highly unlikely.

    Burton Vale Fleetwood Carlisle.

Today hasn't defined the season but Shrewsbury and Cheltenham doing the double over us and the 2-2 v Fleetwood certainly has.

By the end of this season, if he gets games, he'll be time served in L1 and needing to move up to the Championship. The Sun expects him to be starting for Man Utd in the Premier League - hopefully after PV has been given a big wedge of readies.

But the point is well made. These young players may not be stayers like Smith. Just ways to fund the club.

Whilst it's some achievement to play the amount of games that Smith has I'm sure he was touted for Norwich. Not sure if that was on of their brief Premier league excursions or at Championship level. Ultimately they didn't come a knocking or we'd of cashed in.

  15. 5 minutes ago, Warren said:

I think if he is to be a goal scorer - 25 a season level - then he has to be in the box and not dribbling from 40 yards out. So is he a striker like Ellis Harrison or a forward like James Wilson? I think he is pretty big and filled out for his age.  My point with that is he does not look phased by the men's game.

As an aside I thought Gore looked very phased out on his debut once the opponents decided he wasn't going to get time on the ball. There is doubt in my mind that Gore can make it as a top level player which is what he seeks. Arblaster on the other hand is doing well in a struggling team in the Premier League now.

I think Dipepa will benefit from being under better management and coaching staff Port Vale has now. He surely must benefit from being with England level coaching as well.

In fairness Warren his first Vale goal v Shrewsbury was from 6 inches. Fridays goal was an exception not the rule.

The injury fair enough but are you seriously judging a players ability off approx 50 minutes of action when he’d barely trained with the squad and was thrown in alongside Weir against the best in the league? Thats a little unreasonable. It was just a hypothetical anyway as it was the first name that came to mind, could be anyone else they might offer first dibs on.

Maybe I'm harsh due to how good Arblaster was.

He looked a sideways plodder that day considering all the hype. Good job Pompey were way off the ball that day.

If we go down which is still odds on we won't be loaning many budding Premier league starlets . Be too low down the chain sadly.
