They were singing Loft will tear you apart again in the Hamil.
I just want to see effort. We're league one we expect poor play at times but the Vale faithful won't accept half hearted.
If Loft puts in 100% effort and gets amongst it he'll get my support.
Anyone booing him or Massey is a moron.
He's nowhere near as bad as some fans make out.
Vale fans ALWAYS need a scapegoat.
ALWAYS.

Unless it's on a literal pay as you play, which don't exist anymore, this is a poor move.

The next window will be a let down just like the last one.
Just hope we target players with a bit of realism. We need to stop chasing Championship players then wondering why they won't come to us.
For me, Chislett and Deborah have been quality perm signings - standout players for their clubs in a lower division than us.
I'd like that to be our model and more of that type of signing please!

I disagree with the strikers.
In the 1st 2 months of the season we were desperately lacking a physical presence up front in the box. We’ve bought to lads to be that but neither are have produced.
I think there is a physical presence like a Tom Pope, with a good first touch and technically good "for a big man", and then a physical presence like a Mama Sidibe under Pulis-Ball whose main job was just to run and battle and be a battering ram.
You have to play to their strengths with someone like Uche. Asking him to play tika-taka is a bit like asking Lionel Messi to be a target man.

County agree terms for MLS defender - Stockport County
WWW.STOCKPORTCOUNTY.COMHere's a name from the recent past - Ethan Bristow.
Highly rated at Tranmere and we were linked with a £100,000 move at one point I think.
22yo LWB - could have been a good option but obviously Stockport are another Moneybags FC.

I do wonder if we'll go back in for Cole Stockton this January.
Not hit the heights he did at Morecambe so far, with only 1 EFL trophy goal in his 14 games.
Obviously depends on who the new manager is at Burton, but they might look to move him on to free up a wage.
It's bizarre that Crosby is trying to play this technical, passing style but then signed two physical lumps up front in Loft and Uche, who don't exactly have the best first touch/ability to play that way.

Here we go againWith Credit in the bank from the last two seasons and 16 goals from 76 appearances surely our Manager is not going to clear him off in the next couple of weeks?
Even with his limited starts he is streets ahead of Loft and uche and in my opinion should be given the rest of the season to lead the line...
Thoughts?......

How can people say Crosby is unlucky when he keeps signing injury prone players then wondering why they get injured?
Is it also unlucky to keep targeting Championship strikers then wondering why we miss out?
Or unlucky to keep playing players out of position?
Unlucky to keep trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results?
I really wanted him to do well but I'm afraid he's just not a good fit for us as manager.

Another game where we can't score from open play.
Freekick lumped into the box, kept alive, goal.
-
Create nothing and only score from set pieces.
Dreadful.
Wake up Carol and Flitcroft.

Performance - Terrible.
Crosball - Boring.
Point - Fantastic.
Crosby - Out.
Wycombe were another Exeter. When we stop playing the dregs, we'll plummet like a stone playing like that.

League 2 quality CM that.
Arblaster and Ojo will be a huge miss today.
I'd imagine we're not going to change the way we play, so asking Garrity and Lowe to pretend they're Xavi and Pirlo is going to be interesting!

wasn't sure you meant league games, apologies. It's been a while league wise 😅
No worries mucka.
Incidentally, scoring 3 vs Wigan was the first time we had scored more than 1 goal in the league since the 3-2 defeat to Burton on the 19th of September 3 months ago!

Not been reported anywhere I don't think, but McDermott is back at Vale now.
Was this only a 1 month loan? Or has he been sent back?
Can't see if he's played much.
Danger of him drifting into obscurity.

Gamble though, well over priced and hasn't done anything at this level and has a modest history when in L2.
I liked him a lot in L2, but not for £150k, and definitely not for £500k!
Reminds me of Jordan Hugill in the way he's physical and puts himself about.
Wonder what Carlisle have paid? Didn't think they'd have any sort of cash!

Luke Armstrong to Carlisle.

I believe this was who we were after for £150k in the summer, but Harrogate wanted £500k!

Would equal the record of 6, set in 1991-92 and 2018-19
What's the longest we've gone without scoring more than 1 goal in a game?
We're at nearly 3 months currently.
-
1. To stay up
2. To be capable of scoring more than 1 goal a game - whenever we concede first I automatically think "best we can get is a 1-1 now".
That's it for me.

I'm not an expert but usually either some sort of tax dodge or a way of moving money around various entities.
It does seem a bit odd though and I am just guessing! 😅

I would love to see us find a non league goal scoring Gem like Notts County did with Longstaff from Gateshead for 50k(what a bargain he turned out to be). I see that Peterborough(they can spot them) are chasing a South Liverpool striker name Glennon
I think there should always be room for a 'chancer' like that in the squad - as long as you have some solid first choice players though and don't need to rely on them!
Surprised that Glennon isn't on Accrington's radar as they love a random signing like that!
Speaking of Accrington, I like the look of the striker Josh Andrews they have on loan from Birmingham. 22 year old 6'5 striker with 6 goals in 21 games this season. His contract expires at the end of the season too.
I think we'll do a lot of business in January from what Flitcroft said. Would guess at around 4 in 4 out. Let's see!

Blackpool (H) match thread - 29th Dec

Is it me or did we play a lot differently than usual?
It's like the possession game went out the window, and we just allowed Blackpool to have the ball, then tried to break on them.
Also, Jack Shorrock was immense.
