You would think - but the process we use says - NO - Striker is next season - possibly - just wish Flickers would add a year to the end of next season we are getting a striker. Being saying this for 2 years now and we only seem to get strikers no one else wants, have injury problems and take 8 or 10 games to get near match fitness.

No new signings - but ordered the Gods food last night using Povey's mail delivery. 5 dozen oatcakes and 12 pikelets (plain - no dead flies in mine). Just need the Cheshire cheese and bacon and then we are set - space in the freezer made. Daughter will no doubt take a dozen for them. Brought her or dragged her up right as she loves them 🤣

Don't see where the points are going to come from to climb the ladder of safety. We never play well against teams in the relegation zone or on a bad run. We never play well on a Tuesday either. I am worried for our Lg 1 safety. Lady luck will no doubt take out a player each game with a lengthy injury as well. Is our squad capable of fielding a side able to put up a spirited fight.

Could our new El Presidento buy him and fund some of his wages. Only joking. It's only a show title and feel good title for him and the club. We need a forward now, not in the summer now Uche is out for a long period.

Sorry but don't see Loft as the saviour and will be able to get us goals. Defence will leak them quicker than he can score them. No striker(or even 2 - young one and an experienced one) in - we will be relegated this year. Another Jan window where we get weaker rather than stronger like other clubs do.

Shame he had issues with temperament. That was what let him down at Vale - you never knew if he would finish a game on the pitch. The commentators are loving Covolan and singing his praises. He is too good at this level - but we know the other side of him.

See Lucas Covolan is now at Maidstone. They are against Ipswich on BBC now. He is busy and made some good saves. You just don't know if he will finish the game or early bath.

Wonder how far it will run or walk. 😉 Good we are being linked to these clubs as possible loanees coming in from them for 6 or 12 months. Shows we are being taken seriously now by them and not just dismissed straight away.

Think its funny reading some of the strange comments that aren't transfer/loan related this week due to no actual rumours coming out about Vale being connected to transfers/loans now Dan Gore has been put to bed and we have him now - well till the end of the season. Problem is I have used all mine up from the freezer so need to do a run up to Stoke to buy more and then freeze them. Always good fun when ordering 6 dozen oakcakes at one go. The look you get from the owner and anyone else in the shop - feel like saying - yes I am addicted to oatcakes. 🤣

Loft becomes a prolific goal scorer and scores hat tricks for fun. Is that wild enough. 🤣 A lot of people are now seeing his off the ball play now he is nearly fully match fit. Uche just barges his way through defences/midfield and opposition who try to barge him end up on the floor from bouncing off him. He pulls 2 defenders or midfield players away to try and stop him. So will be a miss if he goes - as we don't have that sort of player available if he goes.

And he has gained his match fitness with us and that then benefits the new club. One of those hard decisions - do we offer a longer contract or the one he was given and if he proves his match fitness we offer a longer one, hoping another club doesn't come in and offer a better wage deal. Knowing Vale's luck - offered a longer contract - picks up injuries and is in and out of games and never gets match fitness and no other clubs want him and we have them for 2 years.

If he goes we will miss his off the ball work he is putting in now match fit. Hopefully we will keep him for the 2nd half of the season - if not we could be struggling.

Would be good if Vale have a good working relationship with these prem clubs and they trust us with their players. You looked after Devine and we now want him to play at a higher level. Can you do this with Jamie Donley. As long as he in the same skill level as Devine.

We have been here before with loan/or our own players and they come with a track record of picking up niggles. So can understand the comments will he play more than being in the med room. Just needs to prove these niggles are behind in and he produces on the pitch. Does that he will get the fans behind him. A loan player that everyone will get behind - or is it a loan players/our players can get behind him in the queue to see the med staff and physios. 🤣

With his niggles record in the report he will be coming to Vale Park shortly and reporting direct to the med staff after going onto the pitch for his arrival photograph. 🤣 If he does come, hopefully all his niggles are behind him and he can show his skills on our great pitch. Sounds like the type of player AC would like in the squad.

The question would be why he is not getting game time. Is he too far down the pecking order or just not producing the goods. As he's not getting game time, how far off match fit is he. Every window we get players who take 10 games to get fully match fit Edit - Just seen a post saying he picked up a bad injury and hence out. Def a Vale player to bring in now he's picked up a bad injury - our physios and med people aren't busy enough. 🤣

Have they changed trades and now blacksmiths. 🤣 You would hope the recruitment team and AC and Flits have a list and working through it. But going on other Jan windows, we ended up broke or worse players than before.

Carol started it with examples of looking after loanees. Example was the lad who had his car vandalised and she got a hire car there quickly for him to use. There were other examples publicised, then DF took over the football role and examples seemed to stop being publicised or the senile stopped printing the stories as it didn't meet their guidelines - ie not sjoke related. Vale must be getting a good reputation within the higher leagues as Sproson keeps harping on about it every now and then when the transfer window is close to starting.
