  1. Nigel Farage really reading the room at the moment by tweeting a video of him on a beach saying it’s the hotspot of illegal migrants and demanding it gets stopped.

I'm not quite sure who you think you are and who you think I am? How I "dealt with the Norman" situation? - Exactly the same as everyone else, you included I would imagine.

I'll ask once again, how many times do you want to go over the same ground?

I find you incredibly dishonest. First of all you follow me around for 12 months misinforming and misrepresenting my opinions in threads which have ZERO and I mean ZERO to do with Norman Smurthwaite. Then you get called out and you try to weasel some sort of logic that because of my football opinion, my political opinions cannot be trusted, this is DESPITE my message being 100% consistent over BOTH issues - EVIDENCE.

I honestly now think you have severe issues. Your attempt at bullying is bordering on harrassment and you are trying to save face because I didn't lie down and take it. Exactly the reason you have an issue with me in the first place.

If you want to make a new thread to discuss Norman Smurthwaite, lets do it. Obviously the 4-5 times we've had this same conversation in the last few months have not satisfied whatever urge you have.

If you want to talk about why Norman Smurthwaite is relevant in the slightest to CoronaVirus, then spell it out. You have not done so yet. Other than a veiled "he once said something about Norm, I'll let everyone make their own minds up" - Why don't you go and find my posts, quote them in this thread, and I mean post an actual copy of the post and tell people why you think it's relevant to Coronavirus.

Otherwise, please leave me alone or at least be honest about your intentions.

I'm actually stunned at how this has been allowed to continue.

    You sound upset.

    I find you dishonest too.

Leave it at that as everyone’s opinion is valid and welcome.

You have no right to tell me how I should think.

    Agreed.

And you have no right to tell me how to think about how you dealt with the Norman situation. Nor do you have the right to stop me bringing it up to remind people how wrong you got it... sorry, forgive me...  how wrong I think you got it. People can judge that for themselves.

I find it helps people to weigh up your views on other matters like Coronavirus and politics. You yourself say people should explore all the evidence and opinions so I’m just adding mine.

They are very easy to ignore.

    Gawd in 'eaven..

I'm quite entitled to my opinion and Trump is entitled to his opinion and your entitled to your opinion, it doesn't make anyone look daft other than the person, in this case you,  who spouts the notion that people cannot have differences of opinion in free countries.

    Comrade, give it a rest.

So your argument is that because it’s  opinion it doesn’t make people daft?

    What about flat earthers?

    Racists?

The woman on the news who thought she wouldn’t catch Coronavirus because she was bathed in the blood of Jesus?

Those that thought putting the Cheltenham festival on was a good idea?

All pretty daft opinions to me, so I’m not sure your point makes sense.

The idea that all opinions are equally valid is nuts. It's like saying Carl from Wolstanton (that P+G icon) who sits on his sofa listening to RS,  has an equally valid point of view on the Vale as the Jacksons. Who have toured the world and elsewhere watching every game.

Exactly... like someone who has been proven to be a terrible judge of character. I would trust them less when they gave their opinions on people.

No one else on the forum feels the need to follow me around posing Norman Smurthwaite stuff in brexit/labour/coronavirus threads?

It’s not about a Norman though is it...

You are an intelligent man... if you can’t see the comparison between stubbornly holding an incorrect position on one matter in which you were so very very wrong for so very very long... and then stubbornly holding a position in these matters and talking down to people from your high horse about it, then maybe you are not so smart.

Its about your approach to your “principles”... Norman just so happens to be the best example of how you may not be applying them correctly.

Because the poster is an  i***t, illustrated perfectly by the absolute irrelevance of what's posted above.

You said there was nothing weak about he use of military force.

Trump said that Obama was going to use military force because he was weak.

Makes one of you look daft for sure!

Trumps law : There is always a tweet.

Obama will use military force because he's tremendously weak. Tremendously. Weakest ever folks, believe me. Sad, very sad. A lot of people are saying how weak he is, a lot of people. My uncle, very smart, very smart ok, MIT professor, very smart, good genes, said he's weak. Bigliest brain, ok?

No response from @Paul6754 on this??

    What a surprise!!

My principle is always the same: I'll form my opinion on the available evidence.

Someone has their knickers in a twist!

Im simply pointing out that your principle of “I will form my own opinion based on evidence” needs a little calibration as you clung on and clung on, demanding evidence on Norman being a disaster for the vale for WAY WAY WAY too long... then you just looked a bit silly because it was blindingly obvious. But your had gotten onto your massive horse by then and didn’t want to be seen as backing down.

Im simply suggesting you learn a little humility from that and realise that other people’s opinions sometimes are right and you should listen.

But it’s your lesson to learn.

No skin off my nose, I will simply be here to remind people that your ability to use your “principle” to judge a character Or situation isn’t perfect... you know so they don’t feel bad that they don’t have the same opinion as you.

I’m easily ignored if you fundamentally think I’m wrong... don’t let it get to you.

Trump has had a few chances to be dangerous and chose not to, Iran and North Korea. Name a leader who doesn't have a manipulative streak in him/her.

Wow. The weakest argument in the world award has a clear winner this year.

Someone very wise once told me to never argue with a fool, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience!

Here we go again, twisting Trump's words to suit an agenda although he does leave himself open to such vitriol, his mistake being to think out loud at a news conference.

The UV light outside or inside the body idea is a non starter IMHO although it is very interesting to note the susceptibility of SARS-Cov-2 to UV light for which there will probably be an application for in the future.

Trump used the word disinfectant he did not refer specifically to bleach.

There are many disinfectants of different chemical structure, the chemical structure of bleach and iso-propyl alcohol are totally different.

The comment about the lethality of iso-propyl alcohol to the virus (presumable outside the body) is very interesting. I'd be amazed if there weren't experiments, even trials in humans of various concentrations of iso-propyl alcohol (or other alcohols) administered directly to the upper respiratory/lungs using inhalers just like an anti-asthma medication in an inhaler.

If it worked it would be cheap and available to everyone quickly, a near perfect solution. I doubt iso-propyl alcohol will be potent enough though

I have kept out of this argument as it’s often just people backing a horse they are invested in... nothing new gets said.

Tim Minchin put it best when he said people arguing these days refuse to acknowledge the nuance of the other side... “like two tennis players trying to win a match by hitting beautifully executed shots from either end of separate tennis courts.”

however that said Paul, this was a bit of a test for you... and I’m afraid you have failed.

If you had come out and said “yup, Trump really f*****d this one up and said something seriously dangerous... he may not have meant what the media portrayed, but in a position of power, he should know his words could be interpreted in a very very very dangerous way”

From that platform you could have them tried to put forward some positives from his Presidency.

But you chose the flat out, no argument, he was right and the press misinterpreted him. It’s their fault.

You showed yourself to be a blind follower. And the opinions of blind followers are not worth much I’m afraid.

For the record, my personal belief is that Trump is a dangerous, manipulative leader, and the free world will be a better place when he isn’t in office.

That said, I also believe that the Democrats are playing the game all wrong... endless hours trying to prove he is an idiot are wasted and getting them no where. Stop insulting him and put forward an view of how to make America a better place for the disenfranchised... that’s why they love Trump, they love it so much they will defend him to the hilt when he has been a proper t*t... tap into that. Be a credible alternative. Don’t ply him at his game... he will just come out with lies like “I was being sarcastic” and his blind followers will agree!!

Weird how the majority of people dont agree with you though isnt it?

Just because you say boris is struggling, doesnt make it true. In fact it is a pretty big red flag given your record.

Careful RB... those in glass houses and all that!

Your record of judging people also leaves a lot to be desired remember 😉 cough cough Norman

This “I’m right about everything” act doesn’t play out well for you.

Rumour has it you would turn down the lead role in a western if they only had small and medium horses available!
