  1. while we waited for the deadline… a side note from the supporters club meeting where Jessie Debrah is answering questions.

I have never understood why people think it’s a good idea to continuously slate the latest boo boy. It just doesn’t help the club, or the player.

  2. Phillips was the lad who did well at Morcambe scoring 7 in 20 in league 1in the same team as Weir (I think)

hasn’t played at Shrews because of injury, not sure where he is on his recovery but was someone I would have liked us to look at at the start of the year.

Whilst they're not bigger clubs they may well have bigger budgets - which is probably what he meant.

Exeter made £6m in transfer revenue over their last 2 reported financial periods.

Carlisle have just been taken over by a consortium who are splashing their cash.

Wycombe were recently in the championship.

I just don't understand this "we're skint and can't compete" narrative.

For League One clubs, we all get the same TV money, then attendances + extra commercial revenue will dictate what we spend on top of that.

We're 15th on the attendance list.

Northampton, Exeter, Cambridge, Shrewsbury, Wycombe, Stevenage and Burton all have lower attendances - but are above us in the league.

If we can't compete, then how can these teams compete?

I'm not saying that your attendances dictate your league position (otherwise what is the point playing the games) but it's not as though we're in the Championship getting 7,000 a week and every other team is getting 20,000+

Of the clubs you mention, most of them are in and around us, so don’t think you can say they are competing way over and above what we are.

Of those, I could find full accounts for Exeter who made £6.4m in transfer fees over their last 2 reported financial years.

The 2 you could say that are over competing are Northampton and Stevenage.

There will always be anomalies of teams that over compete, and Northampton made £1m in transfer fees themselves.

Can’t find any Premier League players who’ve gone to any Belgian clubs in this window - (although it might not have been completed yet) a couple have gone to Dutch teams. Adrian Mazilu, a young Brighton right winger and Krisztian Hegyi who’s a goalkeeper for Den Bosch.

Could be Tayo Adaramola from Palace, we were rumoured to be in for him but someone on Twitter said he had agreed to go to their Belgian feeder club instead. May have been agreed but not announced.

If you can get the tweet on here i am sure others will vouch for the fact he has nothing right yet

Completely agree… TC9 is a school kid who just makes up rumours for engagement on the app.

I once looked back over about 50 of his rumours one year and he got zero correct.

    Complete wind up merchant.

Very positive comments from his mum about the academy and how much it has improved.

Maybe we wouldn't have signed a new striker today without the resources put in to develop the academy.

    Yeah great to read

The level of coaching and strategy that has been put into place since the Shanahans took over and Will Ryder was brought in has changed the Academy beyond belief. I'll always be grateful to the previous setup within the Academy for showing their faith in Baylee all those years ago, but I have seen the Academy evolve. I have seen the level of recruitment and quality of coaching evolve, which has helped Baylee with his development and he has since been able to develop himself within that.

One slight other one Adam Murray who helped here while DC was away from the club and became his assistant at Cheltenham has got himself another managers job at Eastbourne Borough in the sixth tier. Thought he was a pretty decent coach tbh.

    Wonder what’s happened there!

Very quick turnaround after 2 months at Cheltenham as DCs number 2 and was very highly thought of whilst here.

I think Crosby's answer to Mike baggleys question after the game all but confirms the Cass and Conlon are in their way out

Cass’ missus is 12 weeks pregnant. I’m guessing he asked for a move back up north.

Hoping for the best. Risky starting both young lads but I think he’s making a point in that the recruitment hasn’t been good enough and the ‘pros’ such as Massey have been a disgrace. Him and grant should be a little embarrassed.

I dont mind the manager giving them both a go after the horror show the likes of Massey served up on Tuesday (especially when Massey is the alternative) but I can’t see us getting us a result here

Lowe in midfield again is a bigger issue to me.

Lowe is in the back 3 isn’t he?

I also noticed that Harratt and Hudlin are no longer getting on the bench under Moore at Huddersfield, i still think that Harratt could do something at League One level given a run of games(not sure he would get that under AC though),also one who if on a permanent deal could make some money for the club

Unfortunately Kian has a bad injury and looks to be out for a while

If we want to progress on the pitch it's plain as day that it's time to invest in a proper striker. They aren't cheap, but you've got to speculate to accumulate.

Ali Al-Hamadi from AFC Wimbledon would be the one I'd go for. Pacy, skilfull & knows where the goal is. Also creates lots of goals. Somebody will snap him up before long. Go & get him Carol.

Zero chance unfortunately… he will end up in the championship and they have apparently set a price of £1.2m+

Sunderland are keen as well as rumoured interest from Middlesborough, Burnley, Brighton, Brentford, Ipswich and Coventry.
