  5. Port Vale have confirmed the signing of 29 year-old defender Shaun Brisley. He will replace Connell Rawlinson who left to join Notts County and compete with Leon Legge, Nathan Smith and Kieran Kennedy for a place in the defence. Brisley has signed a one year deal with manager John Askey commenting: “Shaun’s had past experience, he’s played in the Championship, the first division and this level as well. After the error, Legge went to Gibbons and as the youngster explained: “put his arm around me and said ‘keep your head up it’s gone, you’ve been playing well, you’ve set up the goal and been doing brilliant so don’t let it affect you, carry on and start again’. It’s easy for media commentators to make overly simplistic statements that “loyal” fans should be in the stadium but it’s patronising to think all fans live locally and have the finances and free time to get to every game. You may live abroad or hundreds of miles away in another part of the UK. Continue reading Can’t get to the game? Port Vale’s match with Forest Green will be streamed live at onevalefan.co.uk. More
