  1. Past hour
  2. Why? Moore has managed at the highest level. Who else would we get?
  3. Fair do. Worrall was a different breed he was immense.
  4. You really would have thought Carol would have put a get out clause for both parties in Moore's contract in the event that Vale were relegated! Oh Carol!!
  5. We have to sign a striker who can actually score goals, it's that simple. Wilson, Loft, Uche, Dipepa... must be 10 goals between them all season? That's embarrassing. Take the young lad out of it, 7 goals between Wilson, Loft & Uche. Christ.
  6. yes worrall second to de do do do de da da da ! top man
  7. I’m not convinced by that statement. We got promoted and were playing some really good stuff at times. I had a look at the stats for the whole season for the wingbacks using FotMob and we had: Worrall played 50 games with 4 goals and 5 assists with an average rating of 7.1/10 for the season. Benning played 36 games with 3 goals with an average rating of 7/10 for the season. Gibbo played 31 games with 2 goals and 5 assists with an average rating of 7/10 for the season. Hussey played 19 games with 2 assists with an average rating of 6.8/10 for the season. That’s a decent return I think in goals and assists for those 4 players. They were integral to how we played, in particular Worrall and Gibbo, I think we lost something when Hussey and Benning played, (granted Benning found some form in the play offs). Also let’s not forget that system also encouraged the wide centre halves to push on too. It’s safe to say in a system that relies on wingbacks we failed to get that position right as soon as we went up. Personally I’d like to see us go back to a back 4 next season, especially on our big pitch. In terms of next seasons budget, it’s obvious we need to be competitive as I think other teams will feel the same that league two is there to be taken next season. If we can afford I think we should be looking at not only solid league two players, but also players who’ve got league one experience which could mean we pay a bit more for them in wages.
  8. Does he encourage from the stands and want the 2-1-7 formation on the front foot ?
  9. On a plus side at least we haven't got Ten haag as manager.
  10. Yeah wozza has a great engine for someone his age & the amount of games he’s played & there were times he wasn’t further up the pitch where he could be a threat due to him having to be up & down so much. He was shattered in moments 😂 Got caught out a bit defensively too but worked his socks off & loved a tackle. He still managed quite a few assists that season & in our time in leagues 1 & 2. Take the playoff final at Wembley for example. Wozza right on the byline in the last minute of the game whipping it over on a plate for the other wing back Benning. It worked pretty well then mate. Didn’t Wozza get the most assists one season in the whole elf apart from a certain De Bruyne?
  11. Andre Breitenreiter: Huddersfield boss may have turned down job WWW.GOOGLE.COM That article suggests Moore himself fell into a bag of crap.
  12. Today
  13. Absolutely we deserved promotion . I just felt Worrall was badly missed further up the field despite doing excellent at wing back. We knackered the poor bloke out. It could of gone wrong. I agree with what you put. Let's say it fell into place by chance and Clarkes nous, not by quality recruitment.
  14. I get your point about the promotion season. I'm not convinced. Maybe because we never signed proper wing backs for L1. I think Sang could be a good player if played in midfield. You can't expect a player to do brilliantly out of position. You wouldn't expect Messi to do well at centre back. Messi would be fine at centre back. Could play anywhere that freak

  16. How did we get away with it? Not having that, if you get promoted you deserve it & have done a lot right. I’m not saying it was perfect & it caused us problems at times but it definitely worked over the course of that season

  18. I felt to some extent we got away with it. Nobody will ever convince me Worrall is a wingback. Benning was in and out of the side although I'm sure was primarily a left back at Mansfield, ( I'm possibly wrong on that one ). We sort of made do and got away with it. We've had 3 seasons in a row of playing that way and are back to square one.
  19. If you are playing that way, you recruit that way. Modern day wing backs are dynamic high energy players. You could argue Mitch Clark on the rare occasion he plays would fit that bill. But to end up with Grant ,Sang ,Plant and Massey on numerous occasions was another gem by Flitcroft.
  20. It worked in the promotion season. We went up 😂 I get your point we looked vulnerable at times with that system but to say it’s never worked simply isn’t true.
  21. We definitely need to ditch 3 at the back. It's never worked. Even in our promotion season, it looked like we could concede when opposition attacked. Especially down the wings. Why the bloody hell did we not sign wingbacks?!!
  22. Was definitely a false dawn. But forgetting his goal, both of his performances v Burton when he notched and Bristol were outstanding for effort and commitment alone. Sadly he then turned to cack again. I've got a gut feeling we won't be able to offload him that easily. A truly disastrous signing one of many by the bloke who has now left us with this burden.
  23. Don't know about minutes played etc. Neither guarantee goals I think we can all agree on that, but footballing ability Jamie Proctor is miles ahead of Lofty
  24. Agreed Darren, we needed him to do it all season. Just don't think he has it in him.
  25. Proctor scored 64 goals in about 400 appearances. Loft 34 in about 200. Career stats. Proctor can control a ball better, can hold off a defender better. Can score bicycle kicks from outside the box. Scores last minute headers at the back post. We’ve all seen Lofts attempt of a volley from distance
