Another released striker is Lyle Taylor but he has also had his fair share of injuries but at 34 would he do a job at League 2 level for a season
-
I think a couple of League One teams are after Marquis,he hasn't really done a lot over the last few years and has had injury problems along the way,so steer clear for me

Vale have Ryan Loft contracted to the club for another year, a striker who's not a natural goal scorer, not a good header of the ball but does put himself about so why do we also want a similar type of player in Uche. Uche's stamina and mobility also concern me, at least Loft can run.
Keep one and let the other go, don't keep both for heaven's sake. Worrying logic to have them both at the club when we've all just seen at first hand both in the same squad.
Maybe Loft wont be at the club come August?
-
It seems that players who drop to the Championship have those sort of clauses in but i would have no idea about those dropping lower down the scale,I guess that's up to each individual player to negotiate when they sign
-
Whatever happens I just hope it's sorted soon either way so we can move onto something other than talk of Uche

My priority signing would be Gibbo. Make him captain and get some full blooded commitment and nastiness in our team to start the culture change.
Also I'd be looking at winger Jack Nolan only 22. The goal involvement king (17 goals 8 assists) of L2 last season and is out of contract.
Both with a view to playing predominantly 4231/442/343 next season.
Gibbo did nothing for me v Cambridge, although he could of been under orders or just going through the motions,so I am unsure on him.
I think we can all come up with names of strikers who have scored this season BUT it's whether any of those are of interest to those in charge of recruiting...... as a club lets please forget we will only sign them if they are the saintly of saints

Barrow have Dom Telford and Cole Stockton.
We have Ryan Loft and Uche Ikpeazu.
Barrow have missed out on the league two playoffs.
Stockton got 7 in 12. Telford only 4.
But two seasons ago, Telford got 25 in league 2 at the age of 28. Stockton got 23 in league 1 at the age of 28.Uche will be 30 in February and hasn’t hit a barn door in his career.
It won’t start now.
It won’t start in August.
It won’t start in August 2025.
He’s garbage.I don’t want my strikers to do a “job”. I want them to score or contribute to goals.
He can’t do either.
It’s as simple as that.
If available on loan again I would certainly take Stockton who seems to of found his mojo again at Barrow,I would take him over an untested young u23 right now

That side wouldn’t get close to top 7 for me, there is no pace or width in midfield, no proven goal scorer, no tacking ball winning midfielder, no height in defence and not enough proven leaders/winners.
As well as some quality coming in we really need some pace in the side,we have lacked that for a while now apart from the odd loan player
-
Lets sign Matt Smith and Michael Smith to go along with Nathan Smith........ Bowers and Sproson would have a breakdown on a Saturday afternoon 🙂

He is fine and well,he is hoping to attend some games again next season

Midfielder Gavan Holohan(most assists for them) 32yr old midfielder is to leave Grimsby as is 28yr old winger Abo Eisa their second top scorer with 9
-
Matty Stevens released by FGR,I didn't realise he was only 26,he had a good scoring record there
Also a player who has been mentioned on here experienced RB Dabo is also being released

I cant believe some really do think that those still here at the moment are the ones we start with in August,i will state now that a fair few will be leaving.
As someone else said if Uche has an option of another year(thanks to DF) then we have to go the right way about it. I am hoping some of these talks include with Garrity to extend his contract by another 2yrs

At 34 is Smith an option after his release from Salford?
Just throwing his name into the hat.
Matt Smith to leave Salford City with 'heavy heart'
WWW.BBC.CO.UKI mentioned him the other day, scores goals at league 2 level and is an handful for defences....I would take him over Uche no messing

With Leutwiler leaving could Moore link back up with David Stockdale? Just left York. Experienced head who probably wouldn't mind playing back up to Ripley.
That could make sense as Leutwiler came as back up from the national league

Ended up 3rd choice at notts 🤣 get Aaron Davies in as back up I say.
I dont think the young lad will be back up,I would think we will bring in a number 2 keeper who can challenge Ripley more for the number one spot

The statement on the official site when he signed said, "The 6ft 3in striker has put pen to paper on a deal that will see him remain at Vale Park until at least the summer of 2024." That sounds like there might have been some sort of option at the end of the season???
You can tell these things with how they word them, most say signed until the summer of 2025 but like you say when they say until at least then that sounds like there are options

Think it's safe to say that by seeing fit to offer Uche a renewal, DM has not filled me full of confidence as to his recruitment plans. If he signs, that will be a striker who scored one goal last season, and a left back who was brought in by DM but didn't play in favour of a 16yo.
There might be more to the Uche deal than we actually know about, there could be a few reasons why we are talking to him but we do know that DM likes his physicality and obviously not his scoring record

Maybe we will find out a bit more on Thursday evening

If we have another season watching those two donkeys up front we are going down. I’d rather Uche than loft, but since some moron gave Loft a 2 year deal, we should not be offering Uche anything.
Uche did manage one season a few years back in league 2 where he scored about 15 (Christ knows how), got to pray he comes back a changed man.
Those 2 wont start the season up front either

Surely where it says the club are in contact with players, means potentially moving some of them on? If not we’re <ovf censored> and will do well to stay in the division
That is my take on it,no way will all those under contract still be here in August

Dear god I am sickened by the retained list. They’re all under contract and haven’t transfer listed anyone! Then we’ve offered Uche a deal!!
Players will be told to leave,I cant believe the meltdown on social media of people think that's it ALL those players are staying

Nice to see Bhua offered a deal and the other young lads but no idea on who Arron Davies is as he hasn't even got near the bench has he?

Only thing I’d say is if you’re releasing Wilson (which fair enough I have no qualms with) on what possible grounds is there to offer Uche one? How much more evidence is required he is not a striker or even a footballer??
I say earlier that i suspected he would want to keep him for League 2 as he is a battering ram BUT he would need a good goal scorer alongside him.
Those on the 2yr deals we can thank one man for that but i still think a few of those will leave anyway

Summer transfer rumours and speculation

Having thought about this(I do sometimes),the club aren't going come out and say this player and that player can go because any clubs interested will know we want rid so might not pay what they would have done if it wasn't publicised ....?
