Tomorrow will be 3 weeks post transfer window closing.
Why have we still not signed any free agents given the train crash of a squad?
Deeney is still out there, surely he would improve the forward line

Is Lopata injured? He was my MOM in the last match.
He must have a knock as he would be one of the first on the team sheet otherwise

Just out of interest if we do start with a back 4 and concede 3 or 4 what do we go to then............ asking for a friend

Moore will sort the defending out. That will give us a chance. I fully expect the gaffer and his team, coupled with a formation change and returning players, to turn this around.
How we all live in hope,I just hope fans give DM time(i know we dont have a lot of that and it might even be next season but time he needs) as none of this is his mess and none are his players,IF he does keep us up then imo that will be a monumental effort.
I dont really expect anything tonight at all so lose and it wont be a shock to me or the end of the season, the following 2 home games will say more to me on where we could end up at the end of the season.
Stay up and then lets hope they allow DM to build his own squad for League One
Go down then lets hope they allow DM to build a squad to get us up at the first attempt
Either way we are all Vale and lets give it our all to back the lads

Not long now before OVF goes into meltdown once the team news comes out 🙂
I would 100% take a draw tonight

I would try this team (if fit)
Ripley
Clark Derbra Lopata Jones
Ojo Garrity
Massey Chislett Mighten
Loft
I know Massey probably doesn’t deserve a start, but I’d give him a last chance in his favoured position and see if can link up with Clark. I also think we need Garrity’s engine and bite in the middle to try and stop teams cutting through us like a knife through hot butter. In terms of forward options, I think Loft gives us more of physical presence, with Wilson to come on.That actually looks ok tbf but if he is fit I would sooner see Plant there than Massey, also if Jones isn't fit then Shorrock

Exactly. Will Ryder was brought in to develop the pathway from the academy to the first team and that's exactly what he's done. Anyone who's in any doubt should listen to his interview on the official Vale podcast - just inspiring. And the encouraging thing is we can expect to see more 🙂
I wonder if we have a big CB in the Academy 🙂 as well as those now getting in the squad we also have players like Bhua and Cousins and Brazier who are just on the edge of it,it really does look bright as long as we dont lose these young lads.
I am sure though like the lad who has gone Villa and the winger at Man City we will have sell on clauses in their deals as well which will also help us in the future should they move on

Supporters booing him and constantly slating him is diabolical. He needs confidence and our support, now more than any other time since he's been with us.I thought Loft was really good when he came on,he actually has some decent pace for a big lad
As for the booing, how pathetic is that and if it's anyone on here i hope they never go again, you should NEVER boo your own player coming on no matter what you think of them..... knobheads

I thought Blackpool played like we have been doing most of the time and we played like teams have been playing against us, clinical, if that makes sense.
How's Jordan Rhodes scored 15 goals playing for them?
Watching the match last night, I was listening to the Blackpool commentary which included Gary Bower. They were very very complementary about Shorrock, Lomax & Devine. They could not believe that Shorrock is only 16.
If Shorrock carries on playing as he is then there is no doubt clubs are going try to take him off us as we cant offer him a deal until he is 17(hope he hasn't got the same advisors as Walters),as soon as we can we need sign him up as he could end up worth a fair bit if he continues to develop as he is

Not gonna mention Smudge pal 🤷🏼♂️ had a good game last night, won some vital headers & topped it off with a goal. Welcome back captain 💪🏻 Yet you mention every other player on that pitch apart from your namesake Alfie & Smith. Your hate of him is really bizzare! Garrity did what he always does, chased around, got stuck in, brought us energy & bags a goal. Standard for Ben he was everywhere. Shorrock was rightly man of the match he was pure class last night. 16 years old & his full debut & had CJ Hamilton on toast
Smith was also his usual nuisance to the opposing striker which resulted in a grapple on the floor where the number 9 clearly elbowed Smith, missed by the officials but it was clear in the Paddock. I really like Smith and he is exactly the type of defender you need when you go into battle

Even in victory some still find ways to temper it.
Weirdly when the 3rd went in to put it to bed I wondered if those who openly hoped we’d lose tonight were celebrating that goal and enjoying a good victory?
I honestly cannot understand anyone who wants us to lose who says they are a Vale fan

As i have have said AC lost me after Boro BUT more games like today and he could win me back,we played well in both halves for a change.
Last 5 league games 3 wins 1 draw 1 loss I guess we cant argue with that. Well done to all tonight

What worried me more than anything on Monday 1st half was the lack of fight, pride, passion considering :
the beating we had taken in the corresponding away fixture.
the fans reaction to the Wycombe result, both at the game and on social media afterwards.
the wish to actually win a football game and entertain the home crowd.
To me there is absolutely no way we should have to accept that as fans.
Another thing that worried me, and it seems to every home game at least, is the fact that almost every team seem to score with their first attempt at goal.
Monday was the first time I have really thought it's perhaps time for a change, if Andy Crosby cannot motivate these players to go out from the first whistle and perform on Friday then I don't think he ever will.
Lets face it he couldnt motivate his team for a league cup quarter final
Thats the day he lost my backing

Sounds mad i know but i fancy us for this one and Monday,I know those wanting AC gone wont like that( I am one of those by the way) but i never want to see or wish Vale to lose

Players are playing for the manager. Crosby in.
What happened in the first half then...... do they only play for him 1/2 a game a time? 2 wins in 15 i hate to think what we would be like if they weren't playing for him.
They took their foot off it second half and at 3-0 they took off their 2 main strikers McAtee and Cole

Meanwhile, Barrow under Pete Wild - assembled on a shoe string - are beating leaders Stockport - assembled with a fat cheque book - 2-1 at home.
We should go get him before someone else in trouble beats us to it.
And Cambridge, rejuvenated under their new manager, are winning away at Oxford 0-1. Amazing what real leadership can do, on and off the pitch.
I do agree about Wild and if it came to it he is the one i would go for,as for Harris i have never really rated him but he has certainly changed things for the better at Cambridge
