Are you on a wind up
Guessing you think our strikers and defender are good if you think I'm winding you up when I say there <ovf censored>. We've only started scoring goals at the end of the season typical. It's not good enough. Bailey is an exception, doing well at his age.

Nice one mate. I've said we have <ovf censored> striker and defence and you disagree? If your gonna disagree atleast say something good. So you think the defence and striker are good I'm guessing?

Ah this good old argument 😂
Mate, firstly if you are paddy your an embarrassment. Secondly it’s not hard to see that the sub Darren made was wrong. Weir is rubbish, offers nothing and hides from tackles. If Uche comes off a striker has to come on. They changed their tactics at half time. Darren like everyone in the ground can see this

It is. But that was bad game management. It’s blatantly obvious.
Well if its that simple why didn't u go for the job of manager?

Agree with you that DM can't do anything with these bottlers. Not even God could do anything with this lot. They need to look at the horror video and understand where it went wrong. However, some of his subs have been dubious over the past few games - but is that down to only have dross on the bench.
Sat back to far. Didn't track runners. Didn't tackle. Defence and midfield just let the opposition walk through them. DM can only tell them what he wants them to do - then the players cross the line and seem to forget everything.
Patrick, you need to speak to mum and say - Mum forget championship ready we are going out of the league with these players next season. Not a chance we can bounce back into Div 1 like you think we will. Not even mummy is rich enough to do that.
I think anything could happen. Bounce back with a good window or even go down.

For once I agree with you Patrick
The players are total bottle jobs
Apart from the odd few
That second half was
an absolute shyte show
No fight and passion= No Hope
Down to poor strickers and poor defence. We would do OK if these areas were improved.

A good manager. In fact anyone with any ounce of sense wouldn’t send the players out 2nd half 10 yards deeper with no pressure on the ball. And to then make one of the worst substitutions possible. He’s useless. His record suggests he is one of the worst managers we have had. Get rid. Negative turgid rubbish when we play someone in the top half and negative rubbish when we actually get a lead
I'm sure you or someone else has said this is one of the worst vale teams you have seen. Its down to the players. Pretty simple.

Get him gone. He’s up there with the worst vale managers ever.
A good manager can't do anything with <ovf censored> players. Clarke isn't doing any good at Cheltenham either.

Other sides manage it. We’re playing league 1 sides not Man City.
Ye we have a league 2 squad playing against league 1 sides

Read your comment back.
Being positive. On paper we lose to bolton everyday. Being optimistic we get a point. If we lose I don't mind cus they are clearly a very good side.

10 games 7 points.
Not going well that strategy is it.
I'm not saying we shouldn't try get the 3 points at the big teams. I'm saying I'm not bothered if we don't because our squad obviously doesn't have the ability. I'm just happy we are starting to crawl back up.
What do you expect to happen? For Us to all of a sudden win every game
I'm happy that a couple months back we started actually getting some points.

Thats true. This season we have failed massively to do this
Exactly. I don't know why so many people expect us to be picking up points away at the big teams. I think we can drag 6 points out of the games coming up. Maybe get a draw at Bolton.

Patrick is your strategy to get rid of the dead wood at the club or just carry on with the current players we have and nose dive into the Vanarama with our championship ready facilities?
Can't do much now pal

Can't afford to say that.
We have 4 games left. Yes 4.
If we write Bolton off as we did tonight it's an utter disgrace on the travelling away support.
I'm not saying we shouldn't try I'm saying I'm not surprised. Far far better side. Doesn't mean I'm not delusional and would go and watch anyway. Anything can happen but I'm not gonna get to upset about it. Just gonna move on to the next and hope for the best. Vale staying up.

Not really bothered if we lose to the big teams. If we win or draw it's nice but have to perform against the teams at mid table and down at the bottom

Yep PVFC the top clubs, those in the Prem and Championship, have money to burn at the moment and make huge financial mistakes time and time again when signing players which a club the size of Vale simply cannot afford to do.
I don't know how DoF's at the big clubs operate with their respective managers but I've read on numerous occasions Prem Lge managers talking about a new player who showed up for training and the 1st team manager knew nothing about the signing, to me that's ludicrous.
So for a club the size of Vale, IMHO the DoF should be the manager of the 1st team and everything football flows down from him. At the moment at the Vale the manager is Darren Moore so in this scheme of things Darren Moore would be the DoF, whether DM could do this job who knows, I'm not advocating DM should be replaced.
A "Football Recruiter" would be hired and report to DM, trusted scouts and "Sports Statistics" to identify players to sign but have scouts run their eye over the players before they're signed as from what I've seen at Vale, reliance only on statistics for a footballer doesn't tell the whole story.
I suggested Phil Sproson and Colin Garlick, I think Sprowy would be perfect for the job, Garlick as an example of a non-footballer who may have more of a business take on the position.
The men's 1st team at a football club is it's raison d'etre and the manager of that 1 st team is the most important person at the club along with the owner.
Yep
Like I said I'm open to anything
I would like to say though it's not just top clubs with dof. They were the first to start using dofs and everyone followed in there footsteps because it can work so well. Im open to anything.

For me the Director of Football should be the person who is responsible and is the manager of the 1st team, the person who sets the tactics and picks the 1st team. Everything football should flow down from him.
The club should employ a "Football Recruiter" who reports to the DoF/Manager and the DoF/Manager tells the "Football Recruiter" who he wants the club to sign and the "Football Recruiter" goes out and signs players. This "Football Recruiter" may or may not be a football person but should be very skilled in the arts of negotiation and persuasion.
The DoF/Manager has the usual coaches and staff reporting to him.
So in Vale's current set up, Darren Moore would be the DoF/Manager and be part of the Board of Directors that runs the club. Vale would look to recruit a "Football Recruiter" to report to Darren Moore.
The DoF needs to be a football man, Knows football, the Football Recruiter needs to have other skill sets.
Could imagine the likes of Phil Sproson (Not that he'd be interested) or Colin Garlick fulfilling the "Football Recruiter" role.
All the top clubs have dofs. As far as I'm aware back in the old days the manager would send scouts out for players that would fit the squad. It sounds good but top clubs have had a dof since the 2000s. I'm open to the idea because Darren has worked at top clubs and knows how things should be run. Maybe have Darren incharge of everything to do with the team and how we play and then have someone else for off pitch like new developments etc. I'm open to anything.

Need to get a good dof in. At the end of the day she has the money. Also no one will buy us with much money. Its a money game. And she has a good bit.
