He has got no value at all so dunner worry about that me owd fruit
He doesn't want to play the pro game though,it seems he wants to pursue other things
Sign him and a 20-25 year old.

Jack Nolan. 100k to 200k. 17 goals and 9 assists in 45 aps. Left winger.

Unless we sell Garrity/Chislett or Dipepa i cant for one minute see us paying 400k for a player
Looks like Peterborough are chasing Conn-Clarke at Altrincham,no surprise as they try for all the non leagues better players and dont do to bad with them as a rule apart from the odd one
I think we have the money but I think we can get someone for less who can do a good job. I put another recommendation down if you have a look.

Matt smith league 2. 20 odd goals from 40 appearances. At Salford. I'm sure we got more money than them. He is getting old 35. Valued at around 100-200k

I saw that were trying to negotiate a new contract with him,he would cost a fee for anyone as he is 23
He is valued at 400k. I think we could get him but it would make a big hole in the budget where if we are smart we could get players as good for less from league 2 or the national league.

Who would you bring in?

Uche is a journeyman centre forward he's had his day,he offers nothing Infront of goal, you're obviously watching a different game to the rest of us,we need two strikers who can at least contribute 10 Goals a piece, afraid uche won't get ten on target all season 🤣🤣
Who you bringing in then?

When he's fit and is in a lower league he can. I'd rather get a 15 to 20 goal stricker. And have uche and Dipepa as back up.

It is their fault for taking there focus away from the pitch and ignoring the obvious signs, so maybe an injection of funds could be an answer.
Anyway paying off 14 is completely unrealistic and not the point I was trying to make. There are certain players who have gone above and beyond to be especially poor.
For me.
Ripley - Stays: Comfortably good enough at this levelPlant - Stays: Needs to do better but needs to be played in his actual position, should be good enough at this level
Clarke - Stays: Fitness a huge issue but easily good enough at league 2.
Smith- can stay as back up: One year left back at the level he probably is. I’d release after the year is up.
Yak- can stay as back up: I think he might be ok at this level. As above release after the year.
Jones- Release: get rid. If no clubs interested, pay him off.
Grant- get rid.
Ojo- keep: should be one of the best players at this level
Deborah: See out contract: don’t rate him but don’t actively dislike the bloke. I’d look to move him on if any clubs interested.
Lowe- Release: get rid. Way past it, offers nothing and shouldn’t have been signed. Release.
Cass- keep: I’m guessing he will leave but would be ok in league 2Garrity: Keep if we can
Sang: Keep: should be decent enough in league 2 for 1 season.
Chislett: Keep if we can
Uche: Get rid - for me we shouldn’t be offering him a deal.
Loft: Get rid - release. Transfer list and if no offers get rid. Dreadful footballer.
Dipepa- Keep: if we can, unless a good bid comes in.
Walters: not too fussed either way but wouldn’t be one I’d look to pay off.
i think that’s everyone. So I’d be looking to release / terminate the contracts of 4 players. Jones, Lowe, Grant and Loft. Transfer list first obviously and then not offer a deal for Uche. I don’t think that would destroy the budget and what’s left should be an ok building block for some quality not quantity additions. I still think we will lose Garrity so possibly more funds available.
I think we should keep uche. Yes he has been <ovf censored> but he is a proven striker. He was injured at the start and in the middle of the season. We haven't seen him fully fit. We have seen he can be a pain for defence in league 1 even when coming off an injury. I think he will be OK in league 2. Get rid of loft and bring in a solid fit stricker. Reduce his pay though. And if he doesn't accept then yes we should get rid .
The rest I totally agree with. I wish we could get rid of more players but it would destroy our budget.

All depends on what DM can actually do with the players he can brings in with the money available to him. This is the joy of closed season - who will go, the players who will never come here, but there is a rumour we are about to sign them for mega bucks. The forum is fun with rumours and that is what we all need when there is no football. The wondering who is coming in and will they make the side better - well it wont be too hard after the past 2 seasons.
At least fraudcroft will not be stomping all over the recruitment team and telling them how it wants it. Then bringing in players who are totally wrong.
The thrill when we actually sign a decent striker (or two) who know how to score and where the goal area is 🤣
Exactly. I have a lot of hope for next season. One of my mates asked me to go a Stockport county game one time. I think they were top at the time but boy did portvale look so much better even though we were nere to the bottom. Gave me a lot of hope. We proved our selves against Mansfield too.

I didn't think I would be excited for this season but I'm really looking forward to it and seeing who we bring in. I hope the recruitment team will do a job this time.

No I don't but my personal opinion is that Debrah is dreadful and can't trap a bag of sand. We need better.
I think he will do ok in league 2. He jumped from the national league to league 1. League 2 he should do alright.

Agree bar Debs. Just don't rate him myself. Clumsy player.
So you expect Darren to get atleast 15 good players though the door? To expensive.

Looking at the retained list definitely some good in there but also some bad. If we want to get out of league 2 we just need good players. We also need some good players on the bench. Gonna need a decent window. Not sure if Darren can do it on his own.
Some good talent. Chislet, garrity, all the youngsters, ojo if he feels like it
I think some of the players that were <ovf censored> in league 1 could perform in league 2.
we need wingers/wingbacks, 2 good strikers, a solid centre back to help smith at the back.
I think we have a good midfield
Garrity,Chislet, ojo, Sang and grant if you play them in position. Sang and grant would probably be your 70 min subs. Maybe 20 min if Sang comes on for ojo when he doesn't feel like it.

Amazing that Uche can keep his spot. Just shows how bad the recruitment has been if he can be viewed as the choice to start.
So who else you playing there? Not like our other options are mutch better

Straight choice:
Option A: Put trust in DM to build a squad capable of top 7 in L2 or
Option B: Get rid of DM and put someone else in place to do the squad rebuild.
If it was my decision, I'd get rid of DM and put someone else in. My target would be Ainsworth. He must be missing football by now!
I'll renew our season tickets and back the team, whoever is in charge. I hope Carol starts listening to better advice than she has for the past few years.
UTV!
I don't know why we won't give the man a chance. I say give him a transfer window and first half of season and if we do well enough we should keep him. If we do absolutely shocking bring ainsworth in.

What sort of fees though? Both under contract.
£200,000-£300,000 each?
That would be more than enough for a competent recruitment team to build a playoff squad.
I hope so

He’s also played at right back, doesn’t mean he’s good in that position.
Yes it probably does. He's only played wing back with us. Midfield everywhere else. Odd time when players have been injured and he's played out of position.

Not so sure we would lose Garrity, he would command a fee at this stage and likely would be courted by a lower half L1 club so may as well see out the year with us and see if he can get us back up.
Let's hope for the best

Release: Wilson, Wynne, Massey
Keep for 1st team: Chis, Garrity, Ripley,
Keep for backup: Uche, Smith, Yak, Clarke, Sang (as a CM),
Try and get rid of: Loft, Jones, Lowe, Debrah, Grant
Play 4-3-3 and utilise wingers.
Ripley
New RB - New CB - New CB - New LB
Garrity - Ojo - Chislett
New Winger - New Striker - New winger
7 new signings. All first teamers.
That should be enough to stay up if we recruit properly, even if we can't move any on.
I agree with most of that but I can't see us keeping chis and garrity. So Darren or whoever is incharge of recruitment is gonna have a very busy window.
